Often you can find Marriott Orlando studio inventory for dirt cheap purchasing a Getaway. They are almost always available! The Marriott resorts are really nice in Orlando, especially the Lakeshore Reserve (the one attached to the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton). The pool itself is a lazy river and there are two body slides for the kids to enjoy. You are also allowed to bring your own floaties for the pool and they have a place to blow up your floaties next to the slides. I took pictures of my kitchen set up so you can see how easy it is to live out of the studio for a week. I paid $350 for the entire week (the room retails over $200/night).

The mini fridge has a freezer compartment and kept my burgers and ground beef frozen just fine. I drive to Orlando, so I just brought my toaster oven and skillet. I was able to make burgers and tacos with the skillet. Also, I made pizza and barbeque drumsticks (I bought a disposable baking pan) with the toaster oven. I only needed to bring a spatula and stirring spoon with me, the rest of the kitchen ware was provided by Marriott (unlike the disposable crap DVC gives us). I also brought my own Keurig because I prefer it over the one provided. I put the Coffee pot that goes with the room under the bathroom sink. There are also wine glasses that I put there too because I don't use them. I know I don't get an in room washer/dryer, dishwasher or ice maker but considering the quality of the resort I'm staying at for $50/night, I think I made out like a bandit. You can still use the resort's washer/dryer and ice machines for free. I would say this resort is equal to most of the DVC locations in quality for 1/4 of the price for those who drive to Orlando.

You can often get deals on bigger units using Getaways, just don't discount the studio without giving it an honest try! It only takes me 20 mins to pack and prep the kitchenette into a functioning kitchen.

Here is a video of the Lakeshore Reserve for those of you unfamiliar with the Marriott properties:

It's my favorite property in all of Orlando (including the DVC resorts). There are only 80 something units here and the pool is always quiet and relaxing!

Based on your previous posts, we recently rented a 2BR villa at Marriott's Royal Palms for $675 for the week. As you said, just as nice as DVC. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for this! We are contemplating booking one of the Orlando getaways, will keep an eye out for Lakeshore Reserve!
