Coming from a newbie here, so thanks in advance for your expertise!

1 - Do you have to book through AAA to get a AAA discount or can I use my Disney TA?
2 - Are AAA discounts only on resorts, or tickets too?
3 - Any discounts on annual passes?
4 - Are AAA discounts better than discounts for annual pass holders (specifically on resorts)?

To get a room only AAA discount you can book directly with disney. If you want a package then you need to go through a AAA travel agent.
The discount with a AAA package is on the room only, tickets and dining plan are full price.
I do not believe that AAA offers a discount on the AP.
The AAA discounts can be between 10 and 20 percent depending on the resort and time of year. Since I have never had a AP, don't know what their discounts can be.

1. Room only - AAA or Disney TA; Packages - AAA only.
2. Yes. You can purchase discounted tickets through AAA website or AAA office. (About a 3 - 5% discount)
3. No. There are no AP discounts.
4. Possibly, but not often from what I've read on the boards.

Thanks for all the info. Just to clarify the room only vs. package booking ...

If I book my room only with a AAA discount through Disney or my Disney TA, can I add the package components like tickets, dining plan, insurance, transportation, etc. separately?

I guess I'm confused about a "room only" booking and if that prevents me from having the dining plan added on since I think that is associated with your nights at the resort.

The reason I ask about the AP is we are planning an extended stay, longer than the 10 day ticket option, we would need probably 14 days, and maybe an AP would be the way to go if that opened the door for even more discounts?

Thanks again!

You can only book packages with a AAA discount through AAA. Disney only books AAA room only discounts.

If you book a room only AAA discount through Disney, then decide to add dining it would be converted to a package and you will lose the AAA discount.

The package booked through AAA would have a discount on the room portion only. Dining and tickets would be the same rate as Disney.

If you have an AP, there is a new package currently out (check http://www.mousesavers.com/packages.html#appackage for more info) that allows AP holders to package dining and room. Not sure if a AAA agent can book this or not, you would have to call to check.

Hope this helps.

Room only is exactly that.No tix, or Dp.You can not add them to a room only AAA discounted room thru disney directly..The cm will tell you that that would be a pkg and you need to call AAA directly and book it thru them.Anytime you add anything other than just a room reservation, it becomes a pkg, and then it becomes subject to pkg guidelines and rules.
