A few more questions.

Do they have the unlimited refill stations there?
I am mainly concerned with my morning coffee, I like to get my day started right :goodvibes . I don't do gas cook stoves, never tried my camp coffee pot over a charcoal grill, so not sure how that will work. Any suggestions?

I am mostly going to eat at other places, only time I won't will be breakfast. I am good with cereal, coffee and some fruit. Is there a good camp store on property, or where is a good place to stock up on food supplies.

Many of us do a grocery shopping at Publix off property if we are cooking at the camper at all. There are two areas for mug refills at FW - the Meadows trading post has coffee, tea, no soft drinks and doesn't open too early. Trail's end has soft drinks and coffee and tea, opens earlier. Two trading posts on FW for supplies - the Meadows and the Settlement. As usual, items are more expensive, but not as bad as many stores at other campgrounds. Adult beverages have a pretty stiff markup.

All sites have electricity, you might just want to bring a coffee maker with you, it is a long walk to get your coffee and I don't think that they are open first thing in the morning.

The store at Meadowlands Recreation doesn't open until 8:00 am!!! I know because we always have to wait for them to open to get a paper.

hmmm...maybe I will experiment with my grill at home with my campfire coffeemaker. :thumbsup2 . I usually get up at 6am (not my choice, just my usual time when on vacation). I am use to the food court at Pop being open at 6:30a (least while I was there in March).

Are the grills at the sites adjustable, as far as either the grill part, or the charcoal holder? That would help.

The grills are just like those you find at many public parks. The "grill" part is adjustable as to height from coals.

Why don't you just bring a drip coffee pot from home? Your site will have it own electricity and their is at least one extra outlet (maybe 2). Part of why we enjoy Ft Wilderness is that we can make a full pot of coffee (just like at home) and sit in our camp chairs and enjoy the great outdoors.

We have learned to buy spring water though (not just at WDW campground) because the funny tasting water can spoil the enjoyment of your coffee.

For some reason when I go camping...I have an avoidance of home conviences, such as coffeemakers lol. I do have a small 4cup one I could bring. Heck I feel guilty when I am suppose to be 'roughing it', when I have a electric lamp. I guess for Disney I can adapt...to more modern conviences :rotfl2:

Hot Chocolate, banana, and bagel is my need at Ft. Wilderness.

What I do for my early morning fix is take the 6:30 am boat over to the Contemporary, then go into the Food and Fun Center. They open at 6:30 and have all my breakfast needs. They also have refillable mugs.

I then take transportation from the Contemporary to whatever I'm doing for the day.

That is my only wish for Ft. Wilderness, a place to get a small/easy breakfast early in the morning.

ohhh...I lovely boat ride early in the morning...cool! That will help wake me up, wind in my face :bitelip: . I may do that a couple mornings. Some mornings I wake up wanting a good breakfast, other times, just want coffee, then wait till I hit a park to eat. Especially after a Hoop Dee Doo show.. :rotfl:

Another question. What length of tent stake would you all recommend? I have 2 size right now, the short ones, and a 10" one (maybe 12", have to go measure). I think I also saw some 18" ones. I would assume that the sites are basically all sand.

The sand pads are a sand/crushed shell mixture they call coquina.

I just use the metal pins that came with my tents and never have a problem getting them to stay.

"Roughing it" is one thing! Going without coffee in the morning is something else! :coffee:

that is why I have decided to bring my much loved 4 cup Mr Coffee maker and either Starbucks or Seattles Best coffee :teeth: . Even if I don't want anything to eat in the morning, I need my morning wake up call. :thumbsup2
