Morbid Question

If you were to die or become seriously injured, how would your internet friends find out about it? Have you asked your spouse/SO/kids to inform them? Does your loved ones even know of all your internet communities?

I've asked my DH to do what he can to inform mine. I keep a website, so I asked him to put it on there. I've also asked him to go to my forums and go through my e-mail addresses and tell people that way. I honestly don't think he'd really do it, though, to tell you the truth. It's just not a priority for him the way it is for me.

I have a close knit group of friends here at the DIS and if anyof us miss a day we all have each others numbers and check in

My DH DD and Mom all also know to come here and let everyone know

I have a little note beside my computer monitor that lists where I hang out and the way to get into contact with a few key people, who could then spread any necessary news around.

I think one of my kids would do it if it needed to be done.

The people who know me here would never know. I don't know anyone here well enough that someone would notice me gone and want to check up on me So if I stop posting, you can assume that I'm dead, or that we've had another hurricane and the lights are out!!

I don't know that my DH would think to tell people. My DD is registered here, so maybe she would, but I don't think she knows other places that I post and she might not think to post here.

The only people that would notice me missing are my local group - they all have my phone number and would probably try to call.

My husband can't operate a computer. Go figure.

No-one in my family would know what to do. My sisters are very knowledgeable about the internet, but they don't post here. They know about "this unofficial Disney website" that I post on because I talk about it alot, but they don't know my password or anything.

This is the only forum I regularly post on. I think I'd be missed, because the last time someone asked this question, I posted "no-one here would miss me" and I got at least 1 PM telling me "I'd miss you!".

One of the *perks* for being a medical lab rat is that I have the "plan" in place. My brother knows if I wind myself back in the hospital or worse that he has 4 people to contact and stay in contact with. He gets full access to my email & IMs so that way people will know if they don't see in on LP- I don't have either this or my other new board in the plans but both have my email and IM info attached so they'd know when they track me down.

My vegas board would know because I know quite of few of those people IRL too. Here I don't think would ever find out unless I happen to meet a few of you in the future. My husband wouldn't bother with telling my internet friends thats for sure. I could tell him too but he thinks message boards are lame I think.
