LilG- you are SO maxine. We, of course, want to hear your reasons (if they don't make us blush).

YOU did the pinewood derby? For scouts? I KNOW what you mean about the parents doing all the work! Sheesh! We watched the movie "Down and Derby", have you seen it? THAT dad was psycho!

Ok, gotta go put the arms back on some Polly Pocket styled Disney Princesses. Norah has also just discovered their HAIR is removeable. :sad2: UGH!

Woo! A veritable posting frenzy today!!!

Uma, I had the same thought about "The Others" recently. Too funny! We haven't seen Dre for a while either. Grammy, if you're reading: Stop in and say howdy! Hope you and Grampy are having a good summer.

Hey, WT - Those kids sports sure will keep you hopping this summer!

LOL about the sports parent advice to Nabbie ;)

Nab, You can think of me being cooped up in a windowless cubicle - WT probably has a corner office with LOTS of windows :)

Lil' G - I knew you'd love that sex appeal machine!!! I'm sure we must have stood there for a while figuring out how to make the "hot" light go off for a photo! I've been with my grumpy guy for 30+ years now. I never had need to try to attract anyone else after I met my hubby . . .

MommyP, glad your appointment went OK.

Cel - Get back to work!!! [And I guess I better do the same.] :(

utah m....you don't keep a kissing booth operating? [so that's
where you & sdy raising a fortune...to buy disneyland...:tinker: ?]

......jazz? , i read your earlier comments...about john & the mailman,
..they're the reasons...i like to see utah win it all..[remember they're
not out of it yet]. does carl still drives his semi? look at sports...
florida won in basket ball..no denying they're the best "team"....
but in football..no way....if they had any intergity, they would
forfiet...in the begining they "scored" 2 touchdowns...without
crossing the goal line...on their first drive they were 3 yards
short of a crucial first down...but they were given the extra yards..
pitful...at least, boise state won their game..by the rules. as far
as i am concerned...they are the national champion. * if you
don't played by the rules..even with replay...the announcer of
the florida game..said, " that's a no brainer..the touchdown coming
back"..next thing you know, they gave it to them. what have you
accomplished? if you know-you did not won by the rules..i wouldn't
want it...its funny, i started my schooling at florida..and have always
liked them....* in the mid 70's ...we didn't win 3 games a year..but
i think it was funnier! sports = buisness= no primary objectives, just $$$.

and if you think college bad....there were fights [between parents] at
jordan's cheerleading games....,, .

* all sports= math on a field to obtain more points than the other side
via following a set of guidelines. what does scoring a touchdown=
to a quality human being...take away sportsmanship, there are no
values..even in the stands...golf, is the leader right now. * but i did
thought, the boise st. players & coaches, were playing for fun and
therfore, accomplished the most....it would have been he right thing to
have done, recognizing their efforts..instead of the poor game between
the other bowls [ in no ways do i felt it was the florida players
fault..but it was awful to watch what was going on.] ..who's would
have really won..if they played the game by the rules? but since the
winner is based on scoring more points...then the ways all games are
played....are where the accomplishments are earned? popcorn::

boring, :coffee: , isn't it? that's why i don't watch sports or go to
the games anymore. boring.

....me liked john & carl...just because the ways they played
the games...were with class & merits. :thumbsup2 . and i
think the team will never forget them....

maxine? .....no reasons- :rolleyes1 , just boring
details...:teacher:

I just made red-neck panini's for lunch. Involving Wonder bread and Kraft singles and a mini-George Foreman grill. My kids (my fan club) think I'm a gourmet. And ya know what? I think I'll let them!!!

Red Neck Graduation Menu (Yes, this is REAL):

Hamburgers and hotdogs standard (plus SOME chicken for the health-conscious)
Little Smokies in a dutch oven
Cowboy Beans (OMGosh, these are GOOOOOOD) in dutch oven
Frog Eye Salad (it a jello salad, no real eyes of frog used)
Raspberry and Pretzel Salad
Green Salad
Veggie Tray/ Relish tray/ Fruit tray
Grad-ji-ation Cake (from Costco)

Soda Pop cans served in a Stainless Steel Tub-o-ice (BYOB)
Punch and 7-Up with orange slices floating. Better than it sounds.

Served on fancy-shmancy 2007 plates under a balloon-mass-thingy.

Uhhh, Lil G. Florida beat Ohio State 41 - 14 for the National Championship. Let me get this straight. You think Ohio State (the state in which you live) was a better team. Lil G, I am your friend and I'm with ya. Florida should relinquish it's title. Bunch a cheaters. Go Buckeyes.

Wheat Thins

Sounds like a party, Uma. Congrats to Jordan, and to YOU on getting him there! Strong foundation, wind beneath his wings and all that. :goodvibes

So am I an "Other" now? :confused3 As long as nobody sneaks up on me and kidnaps me to the opposite side of the island, I'm happy. :upsidedow

It's been a few weeks since I've "talked" to Horsey, but last I knew she is fine and just busybusybusy. Me, too. I keep trying to write on my trip report, but never seem to have time for more than catching up on the dozen or so that I am reading! And there are more that I want to start reading, and just haven't been able to jump on board yet. Darn sunny weather and end-of-school activities!

Time to get the boy off the bus ... I WILL stop back and say "hi" and check for the "hi backs" from time to time if that's ok with y'all. All of you. You know. I don't speak Southern very well.

Twinkie! Happy 2nd trimester to you! Even if it doesn't mean :dance3: :yay: or :cool1: there is still a big :thumbsup2 for feeling a bit more energetic.

Thanks! I was actually mentioned you IRL the other day- my kids "team" is all moving up to the next level (except my girls but of course they are a year younger than the rest of the class) and the parents were discussing the increased cost and time commitment. I trotted out your oh-so-expensive leo and warm up story. The other mom's pounced on me "What gym is that???" and I had to be vague since I don't really know you or even what part of the country you live in but I am pretty sure it is NOT remotely near the prairie. It was a real moment of  and even :upsidedow....

Twink. Come to think of it, Dog is alot like Deadliest Catch and Golf. The only difference would be that Tiger does not lecture the ball before he puts it in the hole and the crew does not befriend the crab before shoving it in the tank.

Ha! That is so true. DH now wants to be a bounty hunter.... however he mocked Dog for driving in the pouring RAIN while wearing sunglasses. I am willing to bet goog money that he had to because they are prescripton lenses and he is too cool for regular glasses.

I have a conference call in 30 minutes. I'm trying to get caffeined up so I can argue with Medicare.
Woo hoo! ain't we so lucky to have smarter people werkin for our guberment?
a) can I take that call for you? I am in mood. Of sorts. Except I need to have a smack down with my verizon peeps and I have been putting that off... I have much experience arguing oh so sweetly with the insurance world.
b) Um. I hate to be a know it all.. but it is spelled gubbermint.;)

Twinkie: I loved the second trimester! Not too big, not too small. The baby starts moving. The cute belly makes it's debut. And more energy. What a fun part of the pregnancy.

Well so far no cute belly- I just look like I need to lay off the doughnuts. Which maybe I do. But I toadily agree- I didn't really have a 2nd trimester with the twins- I was so sick the entire time and by 5 months I looked full term. And then continued to get bigger.

Is Underground Vacuum Racing a sport? Yes.

Is Toddler Wrangling a sport? Yes.

Is Hiding Vegetables in Pizza a sport? HELK YES!!!!
I am GOOD at sports then.

Soda Pop cans served in a Stainless Steel Tub-o-ice (BYOB)

Hmm. I have been to a Utah cookout or two.... isn't BYOB.... bring your own baby?

And I am cracking up on the dutch oven thing... I hadn't even heard of one till I went to Utah- then I met ladies who thought nothing of whipping up homemade cinnamon rolls in the dutch oven on the back of the pick up truck....

OMG don't get me started -- dh wants to switch them to a different gym, and all I can think of is dollar signs whizzing past my eyeballs for having to start over again on the unies. At least the ones from this gym will easily last them through the coming year (I bought them ridiculously big) and possibly into another year. Not the leo, but at least the warm up jackets. With their NAMES embroidered on. That was a dumb move. Now I can't even re-sell them to littler kids.

I am :lmao: that you had to backtrack on your story, lest admit that you heard this tale from a "stranger" on the internet.

Hey Uma-- there was a show recently on the Travel channel and the host said that Jello is a staple of Mormon diets! He said Mormons have more ways to prepare Jello, than any 50 cookbooks!

Kimmie- wish you would get writing and actually make it to your resort before your next trip!

Twinkie- I not only have a Goldenchild, but a Goldendaddy too.
My daughter and husband have "Gilbert's Syndrome" which is a liver disorder. They both tend to become golden when their bilirubin rise.

Kimmie what are you doing here.....we are still stuck in the washroom on your trippie....Piper must be empty by now.:rotfl2:

It is hot outside and I am not even done my back gardens yet. I left the trees to long in two of the gardens. Hubby will have to dig them out, no way I could pull them now. Wish I had somewhere to transplant them too.

UMA-- is the party this weekend? Sounds like you have it under control.

Lil'g-- I don't make him play, he wants too. Good exercise for him too. Hannah didn't want to do gymnastics so we are not doing that anymore. But they both love swimming lessons.

Speaking of which I have to get ready to pick them up from school and off to swimming.

Last edited by NAB : Today at 03:02 PM. Reason: Poly does the sun help them too like in jaunice babies.

no Nab, nothing helps. But the suntan makes their jaundice less noticeable in the summer than in the winter. In the winter,it is more obvious in our daughter, than in my husband.

Nab, my husband has decided to transplant all of our azaleas to our backyard

Eegads, you CRACK me up!!!! How much per kiss should we charge? I guess for Disney I'd have to give it a try. Now, where to find rich suckers who'd pay for a kiss in our booth. I HOPE Sid see's this!

Sounds like a party, Uma. Congrats to Jordan, and to YOU on getting him there! Strong foundation, wind beneath his wings and all that. :goodvibes

Ok, the Others is maybe a not-good term. It's just to signify the chosen-one's from the left-behinders. You can be both an Other AND a Regular like Haley. Or you can be what we affectionately term a drive-byer and stop in only to say "Hi" and may or may not come back to read the responses. Personally, I'd like you to be a regular, for a million reasons. Or then there's our mysterious lurkers. Who for whatever reason are not comfortable being an Other AND a Regular at the same time. We welcome all with open arms, really. We truly miss all of you. It's not the same without ya. I know how busy being in two places can be, but we'd love to hear more from y'all.

Hey Uma-- there was a show recently on the Travel channel and the host said that Jello is a staple of Mormon diets! He said Mormons have more ways to prepare Jello, than any 50 cookbooks!

Oh yes, it's the truth. Utah purchases and consumes more jello in the nation. Let me know if anyone wants my Raspberry and Pretzel Desert recipe. You'd LOVE it.

UMA-- is the party this weekend? Sounds like you have it under control.

Yes, it's actually on friday. Yipes! Everything is clean and tidy and ready.

my oldest would hve made a great lineman...you can't move him. period. so
one would have had to go around...i expressed my lost of interests
from last seasons...its pitful...but there are too many adults ruining
it all level...at the end, its only math being playing on a field, and
the objectives were supposed to be directed at social skills and
self realization...now its all garabage, due to $$$. golf, while its long
been the most riches of sports...is about the only fair competition left.
:

I like your description of why your ds would have made a great lineman Lil G.:thumbsup2

Nothing like an irate parent to take all the fun out of kids sports. We've been really lucky where I live. Nobody gets too bent out of shape about things. Never even heard a parent yell at the ump. Must be the small town community thing. We are all just soooo polite. Or maybe it's because everybody knows everybody's business and if you're the one parent making a scene, nobody ever forgets it.:confused3

I remember when my brother played Little League. It seemed yelling at the coach (my dad) and the umpire was a regular occurence. Didn't seem like a heck of alot of fun, IMHO.

UtahM: Your culinary skills are impressive indeed. You should start your own show on the Food Network. I bet you'd give Rachel Ray a run for her money.

Celery:
Is it guberment? or gubbermint like the Twinkster says? :confused3

Kimmie: I don't really know you, but Hi Back. I can fake a Suthen accent when need be. Why I can sound just like Miss Scarlett from GWTW. Fiddlee Dee Dee and all that jazz.

Speaking of JAZZ... John Stockton rocked, and nobody better say otherwise. (Not that any of y'all have. I'm just throwin' that out there as a friendly PSA. I will put up with alot of things, but I will not stand for a negative comment about the best guard in the NBA. ever.) Who knew John Stockton was my breaking point? And you all thought I was nice and sweet. bahahaha. Maybe I'm just feeling full of myself today. Perhaps I need a t.v. time out. :confused3

Poly:
I didn't know that about your dh and dd. I am all too familiar with bilirubin and jaundice working in the newborn nursery. I hate that for your family.

Twinkie: I loved the second trimester! Not too big, not too small. The baby starts moving. The cute belly makes it's debut. And more energy. What a fun part of the pregnancy.

Babyn - BACK AWAY FROM THE BABY TALK! IT'S NOT A RACE! :rotfl2: You live vicariously through our pregnant mommies and stick by your decision not to have another one right now.
Can't you just see explaining it to your little one years later?
Why did I have you, honey? Well, all my imaginary friends online were doing it, so I decided what the hay! :confused3 ;)

lil g said:
i was a deckhand..all righty...laying all over it , the first trip out!
:rotfl: Too much sun? Seasick? Too many yummy beverages? Inquiring minds want to know!

Moo - I worked for several hours. And I'll work for some more soon. Just taking a break! I swear!

I'm in a windowless cube too, but it's by choice. I could've had an office on a different floor, but out of loyalty a year ago, I stayed here. And now I regret it. Also, I could've had a cube by the windows, but the sun makes it too hot. Plus where I am, I can hear if anyone's coming to see me so i can flip to another window real quick! ha!

Uma - is the raspberry pretzel salad a congealed salad too? I've had a strawberry pretzel one that's really good.
It doesn't sound redneck at all! And believe me, I know redneck.

Twinkie - I kept my cool during the call.
This woman had the nerve to go back on something she said in February - that

I got interrupted. I'll have to finish this later!

Hmmm, you have a point. I was fantasizing about the pregnant baby belly. Maybe you're right. Step away slowly. No more babies, BBn!! Go to work, get your fix, come home. Addictions are hard to break.

What the hay? Hay is for horses as they say, and horses live in a barn, and that reminds me that I need to go clean out the stalls. It's one of my FAVORITE jobs. lol

BTW, are y'all really figments of my imagination? You mean I didn't really meet T or GoofyDad? Was I dreaming? Hallucinating? Am I really me? Are we really here? What's the meaning of life? Does the dis even exist? Am I in the Twilight Zone?

Ok, my free associating brain now is confused. Because at first I started singing the song from Journey Into Imagination when I posted about figment and such, but by the end of that last paragraph I was humming the Twilight Zone theme.

Maybe I better step away from the dis too. Perhaps I'll come back and peek in on you guys later. I have too much energy and just a touch of smartypantsness in me today. Wouldn't want to "offend" anybody.;)

Speaking of JAZZ... John Stockton sports words, sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words,sports words.

Umm. Ok? :confused3 I will not say ANYTHING about John Stockton.
Whew! That was a close one! Glad we averted the scary BN breaking point. ;)

Celery: Is it guberment? or gubbermint like the Twinkster says? :confused3

You doubt me???? I am hurt. Cel lives nearish Nashville and I got mah edumacation in Me'phis. Well some of it. So I know how to spell Suthurn. I do.

Poly- I didn't know that jaundice could be a life long problem. One of my kids had it complete with the light blanket and daily hospital trips for the dreaded heel stick. Not Goldenchild ironically enough... hope your family is doing well. So how long till your stay at the Red Roof Inn?

Babyn - I'd trust Twinkie on this one. Being as I'm from Nashvull, I din't get teached to read until I was 28. I din't start the ritin' til I was 29 and I din't learn to use this here computer thingamabob until yesterdaay!
Doncha even get me started on that there rithmatic. :rotfl2:

I'm so bad! I ran down here to get some papers for a little meeting I'm having and instead I stop to DIS! How EVVVIIIILLLL of me!
