It's Ver-Sails to me too. We lived in Wilmore, Kentucky for 4 yrs when hubby was in Seminary.

afternoon Moovers, I am at lunch (aka PBJ at my laptop).

I am such a bad mother... details at 6, because I am sure that by then I will have more to add. *sigh*

:sad2:

Alright - since Dre and Lex both say it's "ver-sails" I'll quit making fun of Tammy for that one.

But I'll still make fun of her when she calls it "chic - a - fil - a"

And just so y'all know, Lebanon, TN is pronounced "Leb a nun" and Demonbreun street is NOT pronounced "demon brewing."

It sounds more like "dim - mum - bree - un/um."

I want to move to Versails when I get rich.
It's beautiful!
But I will pronounce it "Versigh" just like my friend Utah would. And wear my Versace with style.
:snooty:

Celery - Good one about the towel. I wasn't even thinking. As usual.

Good afternoon all,

I am now in Glace Bay Nova Scotia and at my bestfriends house and she internet.:woohoo:

We lost a day of our holidays do to truck problems. We had emission problems which caused the truck to lose power and have black smoke come out the tail pipe really bad. We drove half a day like that and then got it repaired yesterday , TWICE!!! The only GM place was an hour away from where we were staying. Returned to the trailer only to find out the problem was back and had to change a second senor.

Then this morning we found out that hubby left his prescription sunglasses there and have to go back and get them tomorrow. Oh the dealership also broke off our side mirror taking the truck in the shop....

Do to all the problems we have been missing places we wanted to stop because they were closed.

Today we went to Rita McNeil's Tea Room on the way hear and hubby and the kids are at the coal mining museum while I am visting here.

We head to Halifax for two days to see more family.

Mommy P -- I skimmed back. You look so cute with the little belly, congrats on the baby boy!!! Do we have a name yet?

UMA -- Glad you are still coming in Sept.

I really haven't read back to much....but I will.....so don't go to many pages.:rotfl:

Hi NAB!!!!!
We have been missing you. I hope your truck problems go away and you can enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Have fun with friends and family!

Hi Twinkie !!!

Over all we been having a blast!!!

Eating a lot of seafood. Going to the beach and skipping stones. Making sure Nicholas is in front of me so I don't get hit this time. :lmao: Hannah has a bag of sea shells. Great family fun.

Hi nabbers! We miss you, but glad you're able to have some fun in between truck problems!

Hi Nab! No name. I think that the baby will be born and then we will have to decide on a name. Really, now that we know, nothing is sitting well with either of us. :confused3

MP- I have the best baby name book in the world. It was written by a computer programmer who not only ranks names as a percentage of the population (which is actually more important and meaningful than just an order) but wrote a program that groups names by "style" so basically you can look up a name and it tells you "brother and sister" names- ie other names you might like.
PM me your kids real names (I think I know them all) and I'll send you a list.
It is super fun.

Or you could just go with BDG. ;)

I've just been browsing through baby items we need on the Target website and I suddenly had a thought. If any of my sewing friends would like to sew me a bunch(and I do mean a bunch) of boyish burp cloths I would be sew happy. ;) I will even send money for materials needed. I just don't have any sewing capabilities. Nice burp cloths are sooooooooo expensive and I hate having to use ratty old white cloth diapers.

NEW cloth diapers with a cute ric-rac or boyish ribbon sewn on the edges are the best for absorbing baby barf and drool. Flannel is ok, but not as absorbent (but cuter). Tell me what you prefer. And what colors you like.

I'll see what I can do :rolleyes1

You may need to PM me your address though.

MommyP- look also in your family tree for names. Most likely they will be old fashioned or totally dorky...but you may find a cool name by looking at the women's maiden names. I've given this advice a few times with fabulous luck.

Make sure it's not on any top 10, 20 etc. list or else you'll have a JORDAN (my DS18) I swear, every year of school he had to contend with 4 or 5 other Jordans. Grrrr!

Nab- Thanks!!! I'm stoked!

Celery- I pronounce it frenchish "ver-s-eye"????

Do any of you pronounce the L's in tortilla? or Quesedilla???

My friend from birth, Jennifer, now lives in the Boston area and she told me some of them pronounce the L's. I bout died! DED!

okey....I think there may be a misunderstanding here.......OUR children are a boy and a girl......ages 37 and 35.......I know I am older then most of you guys....Our grandkids are 18 on Saturday, almost 16, and 3 and 1......YUP four of them.....two for daughter and two for son.....
The rug rats that WOULD not go to Disney with me.....although Jacob and his family have gone with us twice already and we are going with them again in MAY......but anyways.......RUG RATS do not go to disney with us.....unless they are accompanied by their own parents......yup that is it.....
I am a caregiver and used to have a few kiddos here.....but only take little people that can fit on my lap at once.......that way I know that the babies are getting enough hugging and loving from me......
I dont know what I will do with my old age approaching........I love what I do except the other day was the pitts.......hahaha

It has been wet today in Maine and then the sun came out and then the rain reappeared........this weekend is the Balloon festival......this is the 15th year they have been having this festival and it is the best......balloons up and about at six am and then six pm again.....at dusk the moon glow is happening....alot of programs going on and we love it......
tonight because it was raining good old George Foreman grill came into play......two boneless chicken breasts marinated and potatoes and corn and white spine cukes....delicious........and I only had a little carbo's.....I love my carbs .....
Have a good evening my friends

oh yah....us mainers do not say the L's in those words...geesh.....those southerners say things different then us Mainers

Hi Nab! No name. I think that the baby will be born and then we will have to decide on a name. Really, now that we know, nothing is sitting well with either of us. :confused3

I'm sure something will come to you!

As you know we have 3 boys, dh has all brothers, his dad has all brothers, his mom has all brothers. Dh's brother and his wife just had their 3rd boy. She was like "there aren't any boy names left!!!" But they decided on Samuel Zachary. His brothers are Matthew and Levi. All Bible names (except Zachary). I know you like Bible names, maybe one of them might be inspirational?:confused3

Goog luck!

Celery- I pronounce it frenchish "ver-s-eye"????

In Kentucky, it is definitely ver-sails. That thar ver sigh sounds too fancy like.

Prouncing the ll's in quesedilla reminds me of that movie "Napolean Dynamite"

NAB!! Hope you're having lots of fun.:thumbsup2

Wendy - What would be goog and absorbant? I was going by what the ones online at Target were made of. Primary colors, blue, red, green yellow are goog. I once sat with a lady in WIC who made her burp cloths, they were super cute. They had ric-rac around the edges.

As far as looking at past family names and maiden names. Well all the men have dumb names, or they've already been used by my sister who did have 4 boys herself, before me. My Grandma's maiden name was always wrongly pronounced doofus and my mom's has 13 letters and is very much german. All our past last names are very not usable. LIke German, French and Irish names. Weird names.

As far as pronouncing the L's. We do it. But only on purpose. You know from ND. "Make yourself a dang Quesedilla!"

Twinkie- I will PM you. Please come back with a list of goog names. ;)

BabyN - We were considering Levi. Chad likes it best, I still like Noah best.

Hey everyone!

NAB, glad you are enjoying your vacation (other than the truck disaster!)

MommyP, so I sort of decided on a pattern for the baby blanket. Nothing too fancy, I am not so great at it, sorry. And is a normal baby blanket size ok, or is a receiving blanket smaller?

(NOT plural, Celery!, I will be lucky to finish one).

Anyway, I decided that I am probaly too adverse to going to a store after all, so I took Moo's advice to look online for yarn.
You would think that is easy, right? I did. Put baby yarn into google advance serach, and Voila! HA!!!

Google worked great, just I didn't know what to do with the results.
Found some pretty yarns, but they were handwash and dry flat:scared1:
Well, that won't work with 5 kids!!!
Then I found some wash & dry ones, but it didnt say what weight it was.
Shop by brand? I don't know.
Shop by weight? They didnt specify sports weight, some other measure.
I found some that I thought would work, it looked really pretty, light blue with a little white stripe woven throuh it. But the description said it GREEN?

So then it came to me!!!!!!!! HALLELUJA!:worship:

I will ask my new(ish) knitting freak, yarn spinning assistant for advice!!!!!!!!!:dance3:
