Goog evening, everyone!

a~lot of people thinking goes "haywire" [ i  old-fashioned jargon], just from never being told..the alternatives. & that's where i have produced my greatest..effects...:teacher: ..very,very simple...funy?..writng these "ideas"..are so hard...i think because, they go off in every direction ... like a herd of cows...looking for greenier grazing pastures. that's for you..moo,
Thanks, Lil G  Right back atcha!

Drats! So sorry to have missed Nabby! If you're still around, ditto on the missing you comments!!!

Hope your truck problems are behind you. The tea place sounds fun! Hope the rest of your trip goes more smoothly pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Too funny on all the pronunciation differences. I live in a town that has different pronunciations too. You can always tell when someone isn't from your area by the way they pronounce it.

Melinda - E-mail sent. Glad you're joining us for AK!!!

Great idea on the yarn, Marita!

Steph, I'm with Dre! We would love to hear your bad mommy tale. I'm sure many of us have been there!

We haven't heard from the meanest mommy in ages :rotfl:

Ok, so here is my Bad Mother tale of woe...

No, I did not use their college fund to finance our DVC.

But somehow amid the registrations, shopping, and lunch program carpola for the preparation for the school year, it suddenly dawned on me at 10am this morning that neither myself, nor my DH, remembered to re-register the kids for the AFTERSCHOOL LATCHKEY PROGRAM!!!!!
:scared1:
OMFreakingGosh I nearly had a cranial hemmorage right there at my desk, in my office. Fortunately, my saint of a husband, was able to run over there and take care of it for us.

I thought I was going to have a full-blown, freak-out, panic attack for a few minutes there. Of course, no one would have known to look at me. I think I may have popped a blood vessel somewhere though.

So, I am a bad, bad, mother. Don't pity me, learn from me. (heh couldn't resist that one)

The kids are outside swiming in the pool. When it is time for them to come in and go to bed, I am going to banish myself to a corner (with a glass of wine) to do pennance... and try not to notice any dust bunnies that may be propagating in the corner with me. Because I am a bad, bad, wife and homemaker. Too.

:laundy: :confused3

Bad, bad, Mom, Steph!

I think Dis'ing with a glass of wine in a corner is appropriate pennace!

I hear ya Javagirl. My excuse is I am in a new school district. And the whole pregnancy brain thing.

I called today to find out the bus assignments. School starts tomorrow. Little twinks were fine. DS13 wasn't in the system.:confused3

Lo and behold. We live too close to the school (2 miles) to get a bus. BUT we can pay for it.

BUT the deadline has passed and they can't guarentee us a spot.

I almost had a panic attack trying to figure out how I was going to drop off/pick up DS AND be home to meet the bus for my little kindygarteners. They are too little to understand that if mommy isn't home she will be in just a few minutes because of traffic. :sad2:

But I spoke to a nice lady at the transportation place and got a spot. Paid for the whole year up front in my glee of not having to spend over an hour per day in the carpool line with three small children in tow (in the am) and an ever increasing belly.

Bad, bad mom too, Twinkie! You can also sit in the corner Dis'ing for pennace, but not wine for you! Have a diet puppie :drinking1

Hey, look at my ticker! 1 month, 1 week, 1 day until I go to Disney World!

I will sit in the corner and Dis till bedtime. But the diet puppys will keep me up so can I have a raspberry green tea?:surfweb:

Awwww, Steph! All's well that ends well!

I called today to find out the bus assignments. School starts tomorrow.
Twink, I'm impressed that you're not in first day of school freak out for the Twinkertwins! Or were they in pre-K last year?

I have a coworker who is a basket case the first couple weeks her kids go back to school - it is a remnant of having had post-partum depression with her second child.

I need to remember to bring in some flowers or something for her. I'm hoping it won't be quite so bad this year. School doesn't start until after Labor Day now in Michigan - they passed a state law  It is supposed to help increase end-of-summer tourism.

Marita- yes please do have some wine for me

Moo- The lil twinks went to preschool three afternoons a week and Kindergarten here is half day so it is a nice transition. Of course I may recant my calm, cool and collected stance tomorrow when they get on the big yellow bus. My kids are not clingy at all... more like "mom who?"... probably because I am the meanest mommy though others try to claim that title.

They have tourismn in Michigan, Moo? What are the tourist places there?

 in advance in case you need it tomorrow, Twink!

Yep, we have "UP NORTH" here in Michigan, which is all of northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Plus we have the GREAT LAKES and people mainly visit Lakes Michigan, Superior, and Huron, as well as a multitude of inland lakes and rivers when they go Up North. So we have lots of fresh water beaches, sand dunes, boating, fishing, golfing, camping, hunting, biking, trailriding in the state forests, etc.

There are a lot of quaint and touristy towns in Michigan. Mackinac Island is a great place to visit - no cars are allowed on the island and Somewhere in Time was filmed there. Frankenmuth is a German-themed town where they have the world's largest Christmas store, Bronner's. Besides that, we have tons of festivals, arts and crafts shows, car shows, casinos, pick your own fruit orchards and I could go on and on . . .

Alas, I have decided to forgo the glass of wine in fear that the sulfites would aggravate my reflux too much. So I am sitting in my recliner sipping some peach tea, and pretending that it is sour grapes.. of wrath. Just kidding.

Dang, Moo, sound fantabulous, I might have to make it up there sometime when I am retired in like 35 years!

Wait Steph, , now I have to drink wine for you AND Twinkie? I don't have my new alarm yet. I am down from 4 to one, and it's not working out so well.....

DID I post the classes I was going to take at the Leadership conference yesterday? I think I did.

Anyway, I was only able to get "Investment strategies" and "living on a reduced income"

Class registration opened Monday and is open till 8/26/ I tried Tuesday, and most all classes were full already1 BAHHH HUMBUG!

Those sound like some pretty goog classes for you, Marita!

Q. What happened to the lost cattle?

Lost cattle? Was that for me or someone else? I don't have any cattle to lose (thank googness)

GOOG MORNING!

Got up a lil early this morning. Still trying to get back to my 5:30 wake up time but I guess that won't happen until after evil daylight saving time is over.

Twinkie....One of my due dates was Nov. 30 and I had the baby on Nov. 21st. I watched the movie Pet Cemetary the night before. After having nightmares all night, my water broke at 7am the next morning. We brought her home on Thanksgiving Day!

Lil G.....You are such a sweet man. I think most of the trouble with the world today is that not enough people follow the golden rule and show kindness to others. As always....words of wisdom!

Dre!
You must know all about the big Lexington! My office mate at work lives in Wilmore and attended ATS. I only get out to Wilmore during Ichthus.

Celery....You're so right. Versailles is beautiful and adored by the rich and famous horse people. The queen always visits her good friend Will Farrish at Lane's End when she comes to KY. William Shatner has a farm out there too.

NAB! :wave2: Sorry about the car trouble. Sounds like you're having fun anyway!

Marita
....Love your limited income seminar. They offer those at Disney. They should call it "how to quit your job". Heh. I didn't know you knitted? Oh and Michigan is beautiful in August! We have vacationed there several times. Twice in the Harbor Springs area and once in Grand Haven. It is absolutely lovely there.

MommyP....YES! Family names. They don't have to be your family names. We used a simple first name and a family name in the middle for all the kids. What about Chad's family?

Javamom
...Sounds just like something I'd do. Don't blame yourself! It's all fixed.

OK...All caught up... gotta get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

How are you guys this morning? All is well in the pasture?

I have to go to the kids school, and help with lice screening this morning.:scared:

Note to self: Never tell school officials you are a nurse, they will use this information against you.

I'm supposed to go work out with a friend after that, we are trying to use the buddy system...keep each other motivated. But, we did this once before and she only lasted a few weeks, so I was left for to my own devices. Maybe I need a new workout buddy? Actually, I kinda like going by myself most of the time. It's quiet and peaceful. I know as soon as the rugrats get home from school, I can toss quiet and peaceful out the window.
