Pumba-- I see what smoking is doing to my mom, she tries to quit but then doesn't. My dad was a heavy smoker too. We grow up with it. Only two of six kids smoked. I was not one of them.

I would think smoking would be like losing weight. Food is my addiction, smoking is theirs. Wish we both could stop.

You are such a great dd Pumba. You are always there for your Mom.

 to Pumba

Nab- I can't beleive you're learning a lot about me on the trip report. I thought you guys had heard all my stories by now!

oh yeah - and Tammy hasn't checked in in forever because of our internet issues. She can't log in from work, and when we're home, it seems like the internet is always down. :(
And comcast is really rude to us! I'm so sick of dealing with it.

What I learned from your trip report is your crazy....:lmao: ( just kidding)

You always said your sister was crazy but I didn't know she was in an accident. Or any of the back story you have been telling.

So far so good, can't wait to meet you and Tammy. You haven't scared me off yet.:rotfl:

Pumba,

Remember a few months ago when my mom had issues like imagining things? All negative. Turns out it was the pills she was given, now she is just fine. You might want to see if she got any new meds.

My mom smoked for 40 years, then quit cold turkey for over 25 years. Then she got Alzheimers and forgot that she quit. One day she woke up and demanded to know where Dad had hidden her cigarettes. He went out and got her some. She died 2 years ago, and the doctors said her lungs and heart were completely healthy. She was 82 and died from a kidney infection.

Here is the email I sent to work today:

Subject:

I

am going to work from home tomorrow ....

... , unless someone comes up with a really convincing reason why I should drive for 1 1/2 hours and spend $5 on tolls.

I will be available by email or pager or phone.
Your friend in planning,
Marita
I am fried, the heck with work, and I don't want to drive tomorrow.

DTD, we all can get hit by a truck tomorrow, you never know.

I whole heartedly endorse the note you wrote Marita!

And I did go read Celery's pre/post/quasi trip report. Goog times. It is going to be fun. And may result in some minor litigation. Don't miss it.

Where IS everyone tonight????

I am over and out for today .

BTW, did you know bedbugs are really nasty and hard as heck to get rid of? Like they basically have to destroy everything!! Maybe I should not have mentioned that...

Night!

Hope all is well with everyone. There's no way i can go back and read everything.
We're still not sure what is wrong with my Mother. so far,the tests are normal. The doctor is checking with a specialist later today,so hopefully we'll have some course to follow. She is having some biopsies done on susupicious marks on her face, but that's whole nother story.
PM me if y'all are chatting -I'll try and stop by.
Not sure where my countdown disappeared to :confused3 :confused3
but, I told my husband he may be taking the girls without me. Depends on mom.
:grouphug: Glad you stopped by poly. Hang in there. Sending prayers for your mom and you too. It can be very stressful bing a caregiver. Be sure to take care of you, poly!

The same goes for you, Pumba!!!

Hey, Meeps!

I left the office at 2pm today. Turned in semi-final budget at 1pm and left the office at 2pm. After weeks of stress and adrenaline, there was no energy left to do any other work. So I am now reading here, there and trip reports.

Funny thing happened today at work. I was heading to the smoking area, and another CM comes from outside. He stops me and asks what brand I smoke. I thought he wanted to bum one. I said "Marlboro Lights". He hands me a pack of cigarettes (ML's) and says, here take this, I'm done, I quitting, I've had it"! Inside were maybe 6 cigarettes and a lighter.
I am waiting for that kind of moment to hit me too.
I'll be there to support you if you do make that decision, Marita! Just like you have been supporting me with my weight loss (I will get back on the wagon soon.)

Pumba-- I see what smoking is doing to my mom, she tries to quit but then doesn't. My dad was a heavy smoker too. We grow up with it. Only two of six kids smoked. I was not one of them.

Amen, Nab, on your food/smoking addiction comment! My Mom went through the same thing with smoking. She ended up with pretty bad emphysema. My Grandpa died from lung cancer - those are two of the many reasons I never tried smoking. None of my siblings smoke - a couple have briefly, but none of them took it up.

Now, on a lighter note! I will post tomorrow about my pre-birthday celebration at work and with work friends tomorrow night! Must get to bed now. Marita, have a great day working from your couch tomorrow! Wish I could too.

 Thanks, Twink! Lof ya!!!

Goog Morning!

I took a nap yesterday. FINALLY! I slept for about 30 minutes and woke up feeling GRRREAT! However last night from 11-3:30am I regreted that nap. I guess God doesn't want me to get rest during the day. It's gonna be either or for me. I was WIDE awake until 3:30am. I went to bed fine at 10:30 but woke up a little after 11. Awake. So I will no longer be taking naps. Yikes.

Thankfully I did get 2 sound hours between 5-7 and every Mom knows that's all you really need. ;)

I have plans to clean the house somewhat today and finish up my laundry.

I'm fueling up first thing with an egg and toast and a glass of cranberry juice. I just can't seem to get enough cranberry juice these days. It's SO yummy!

We have a Birthday party for my nephew tonight to go to. July is a BUSY birthday month, as well as Dec. and Jan. After this baby there will be 8 Birthdays within those 2 months.

Marita - Does that mean there are bed bugs at a resort now? I check the bed and drawers everytime we go now. Did any of you see that thread a couple months back where the family was leaving the next day and taking the daughter with lice? YIKES! I would hate to get their room after them. The advice DISers were giving her was HORRIBLE! Like, "Don't tell the front desk your daughter had lice just request the linens be changed." Sad. That room needed seriously cleaning and probably didn't get it. I would be super mad to come home from Disney with lice. More so than bedbugs. Which to me aren't as scary gross.

Marita - My MIL had some lasor thing done to her smoking fingers and nose and ears(I think) and she hasn't smoked since. Chad smoked when we first dated, but he just up and quit. Thankfully. I wasn't going to have any of that. ;)

Good morning, everyone,

My work from home day today, so I am posting in tha AM... About to log into work now.

I'll check back later.

I have the same plans today MommyP. And iron since I bought a new one.

AND go to walmart. With all the kids to a) provision up for the weekend (you don't even want to know how much I spend on milk) and b) continue to get my money's worth out of the vision plan.

If your small children wear glasses the walmart 15$ warrenty is worth every penny and then some.

For 15$ per kid the frames and lenses are covered for a whole year. For everything except routine scratches. The twins got glasses in March and one girl is on her third frame and the other is on her second. Not to mention the countless new screws and adjustments. Today's trip is inspired by the oldest... also has been wearing glasses since he was 4. And he has the knack of taking them off so they won't get broken and leaving them on the ground, the edge of the ball court or wherever where some other unknown and perhaps mythical child steps on them. And breaks the frame.

So DS13 lost a screw and DD5 fell asleep in her glasses yesterday so they need to be adjusted.

Good times. I think it going to rain again but it is a lot cooler. And humid. My girls have darling ringlets. I have Big Hair... I am thinking of just going with it . It is walmart after all....

so the real question is should I post my walmart trip report on Cel's new thread??????

Marita - What do you mean "everything gets destroyed"?

Twinkie - I don't iron. Of course Chad wears jeans and a grey t-shirt to work which he doesn't even keep on because it is dripping wet by 9AM. Your DH works behind a desk doesn't he? I suppose I would have to iron if DH wore nice clothes to work. Thank goodness he doesn't. ;) Although it would be kinda nice to have a nice clean DH come home from work in "church clothes" rather than stinkyallmyclothesaresoakingwetplusthe2towelsIstolefromyouthismorning DH. I hate summer.

Have fun at Walmart. I don't go there by myself. My anxiety won't allow it. Last time I went by myself I had an attack and had to call my Dad to come pick me up. Chad either does the shopping himself or we go together.

AND I'm pretty sure I can imagine what you spend on milk. Before we got back on WIC a few months ago we spent a good portion of the budget on milk. Not only do my children LOVE it my DH thinks he needs it more than them.

I am almost done! I feel so alive! All that is left is vacuuming the rest of the living room, my bedroom/bathroom, mopping, wiping down the kitchen(if I feel like it) and cleaning my shower. Plus the mountains of laundry to put away, fold and wash.
