bbn - You always have the best kid stories! :)

Thanks Moo! Congrats on making it through your first telecommute day.

Credit is stolen, where credit has not been earned. I think you're confused.

That doesnt even make any sense. I think I now need a Tylenol. Although Motrin is my drug of choice.

Alrighty gang, off to take a hot bath.

Night y'all.

Peej - Goog strategy with the screaming mom. Yikes. Are you counting the days until vacation??!

Glad it worked out okay-ish today, Moo. Hopefully everything will be in line for next time.

Yes and no to your question. I'm just a little nervous because right now it's just my friend Eren and I going. Well, and we're meeting up with a friend who lives in LA. I would like to have someone, well......more responsible?? My friend Ben might be able to come for a short time, which would make me feel better. I can just see Eren and I lost somewhere in California or getting ourselves into all kinds of situations. Hey, we always have good stories after our little outings! :rotfl:

Marita - I feel your pain regarding the early meeting. If it helps you to feel any better, I have to leave the house by 7:00 to drive my hubby to his colonoscopy appointment :scared:

Moo, I wouldn't feel so bad if I had someone to wake me up. But DH leaves at like 3 am, so getting up is up to me. And I don't trust myself much at all.

Go to bed early, you say ? (the collective you) I might have intentions, probably not gonna happen. :sad2:

Moo, hope you can work out your issues for home commuting. I still swear at DH for getting a MAC. (silently) Just not compatible with the work system. I'd love to do that. They are talking here about raising tolls by a quarter, which would increase my daily tolls from $4 to $5 a day. Thats $5 a week or about $200 to $250 a year!

The Expressway Authority is complaining about traffic being down, so their answer is raising prices, which will force more people off the toll roads. I know I would avoid 2 toll booths a day (both ways) I might try that anyway, unless I'm in a hurry, which I unfortunately always am

Peej - If you're staying on-site, it shouldn't be too bad getting around unless you need to drive somewhere. In which case, if you're going to be on the freeways around LA, just make sure to avoid rush hour.

When we stayed at Paradise Pier, we were able to cut through the Grand Californian to get to California Adventure and that was a pretty scenic walk and I loved the interior of the GC hotel. It was more of a hike to get over to Disneyland and their Downtown Disney. DL Hotel is a bit closer to the parks than PP was. Wish I'd spent the extra $$ to stay there, but we really enjoyed our park view after getting a free upgrade for our anniversary. And we really liked the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) restaurant at PP. They had the best cream of mushroom soup and sourdough rolls.

Marita - ACK on the toll increases. Better set your super duper bed-shaking alarm!

Marita - Better set your super duper bed-shaking alarm!

Excellent idea! I have it set for rather late in the waking up process because it's really annoying, so I am off to set it to much earlier for tomorrow,
Thanks! :flower3:

Moo: are you now working some from home?

Tim comes back from Denver today. He has a cousin who lives there, so they met up for dinner and stuff last night after work.

I have a girls dinner to do tomorrow with my bowling friends. I can't wait!
We haven't bowled in years, I'm hoping to change that. I just need to find a place that has smoke free leagues.

Hot Dr's? you say? I may have to check out Nip/tuck after all.

The new Castle show they are advertising, I'm not saying who, but I know of someone who has DVR'd the commercial many times due to major hotness.

What is being celebrated today:

National Democracy Day Nepal
National Flag Day Turkmenistan
Family Day (Saskatchewan only) Canada

Have a great Thursday, hope to see you all around.pirate:

ALL my crap was given to the tax lady this evening.

What a relief that's over.

I almost bought a bottle of wine. But instead purchased 2 gallons of milk and 2 packages of paper plates.

WAIT - wait, you must not have gone to Octomom's school of finance!! (she bought a $15 tube of MAC Lipgloss!)

not that I'm jealous (GMA just did a report on the 7 sins, envy is one women commit)

having a hard time getting computer time - I'm going to work today!!! (DH is a mac user - some things like 'right click' I keep forgetting is it the open apple or is it 'control'?)

My boys do NOT talk early. It is kind of freaky since they walk early and don't act like babies in a lot of ways. Gabe basically doesn't talk at all. He can say Mama, Dada, and Bye Bye and occassionally "hot" but usually has his finger in his mouth. I worry a bit but I am sure it is just his personality.
Do you do any signing with him? I would go crazy without it. It's so nice to be able to encourage communication rather than whining. But Isaac is my only one who started to say some of the words he signs instead of signing them anymore. His favorite word is, "bite". He likes to eat what you have.
"Hi. I'm Julia. This is Cabub. He's my bubby. He dont talk"

Caleb, without missing a beat, "HI!"

Julia pauses for a moment "wellllll, he talks a little."
Cute kid story.
Scream!!!

I have a 9:30 am meeting at the Poly tomorrow, which means I have to leave by 8:45 the latest. I dont usually get up by then even!! And it's an All Hands meeting with the director, so I can't be late. Wish me luck!
Lucky! A work meeting at the Poly is better than sitting at home with nothing interesting to do. ;)

You are so responsible. ;)
2. Thank you for that NOT helpful post.

You could have added the Haiku rulebook, ya know!

3. Thanks! :flower3:
Does Amazon sell a Haiku for Dummies book?

Wow that's a lot of money. Isn't there a prepaid toll program that would save you some money? We don't have any toll roads around here, but of course that just leaves I75, which is super congested. They keep making more roads to help with the congestion of I75, but then they make the speed limit on them 50(45 at night) so who the heck wants to use those roads? Duh. There is just a toll to get into Cape Coral, but if you go in from the north there is no bridge, therefore no toll. :thumbsup2

Chad has a meeting at work tonight. Hopefully it's not bad news. Every time he starts a new job they have some big meeting with bad news. :sad2:

So we're thinking of checking out a different birth center too. It's in Sarasota, which is 1 1/2 hours away. But there isn't any additional costs there. The medicaid covers everything. They have evening appointments until 6:30pm on Tuesdays so Chad can go with me. I really want him to be able to be a part of the process of pregnancy this time. Plus my Mom thinks it's stupid to go to a birth center when the hospital wouldn't cost us a dime. No one in my family understands, so I would rather just do this with Chad. I'm also thinking about having just him and me at the delivery, which will probably end my Mother's world, but she'll have to get over it.

Mony - Have a fun dinner out with the girls.

I'm working from home on Wednesdays on a trial basis.

Today, I had to be my hubby's driver for his colonoscopy so I'm sitting at the hospital right now. Ick.

MommyP - Hope that Chad's meeting tonight isn't a bad one.

Sandy - I was able to get my mouse to work normally with my Mac. Just had to fiddle with the settings.

MARITA!!! It's 7:30. Are you up?!!! ;)

Yawn.

:lmao: You are a good friend Moo. I am glad telecommuting is working out (sort of)!

Better to be driving someone to a colonoscopy than getting a colonoscopy. That is what I always say. ;)

What is being celebrated today:

National Democracy Day Nepal
National Flag Day Turkmenistan
Family Day (Saskatchewan only) Canada

first of all, those crazy Canadians (saskatchewan only) ! celebrating "family" :rotfl:

second thanks for the update! I'll be sure to frost cookies with the Turkmenistan flag. ;) I know Martha Stewart probably already has hers done.

I have friends that have had real sucess with the baby signs stuff but I never got into it. I see how it really helps when they can think more than they can communicate The cleft palate board actively discouraged me with the twins- because the princess could hear and talk they didn't want to give her another way to communicate. She was very high risk for communication delays because of the cleft and the twin thing (they did have their own babble language for awhile). Also because of the cleft she would have short term hearing loss frequently and we needed to constantly be assessing whether she could hear.

Then with goldenchild, one baby was just so easy I didn't feel the need. He talked at a "normal" time. Just not early. His first words were Mama, Football, Hike and Touchdown. That explains alot about him.

Grasshopper does wave bye bye and I am trying to get him to sign for "more" and "all done". He just looks at me like I have gone off my rocker. Especially when I try to get him to point to and say body parts. You can tell he is thinking "I think my moms gone crazy"

1. By all means check out another birth center. You might hate it. You might love it. Don't know till you try.
2. I understand wanting him to be there. Especially for the ultrasounds.
3. Who is at the birth is totally up to the person giving birth. Period.
4. While I stand by #3 regardless of how many babies you have had, in your case really.... she was there for the first FIVE times and has other daughters having babies, so I don't think it is a bit selfish to just want Chad. My mom has never been there. Only once was she even in town and then she was watching the other kids. When the twins were born she did spend the first night at the hospital with me because our oldest came down with the flu and I sent my husband home to take care of him. That was a special time we will never forget but the only person I want while I am in labor is the babynurses, the person with the MD and my husband.

My mom came stayed with me after my daughter was born. All night long she was snoring so loud she kept waking the baby :rotfl: But she was so out, I had to keep getting up. I hate sleeping in a hospital. I was so happy to get home. But it was wonderful to have her there during waking hours

Parts of your post was major De Je Vue (if I spelled anything wrong too stinking bad!) for me. Creepy.

We sign over here with our kids and the day care kids. It's wonderful, the babies can communicate and there's so much less frustration and less whinning.

I de-cluttered my kitchen table, and counters.

Very Martha Stewartish.

I have cupcakes already made and frosted in a tightly sealed container, so we can celebrate anything today. What does that make me?

Well the excitement in Canada is Your President!

He has just left the airport to go to Parliament Hill. The news people were telling us we wouldn't see him but I just watched him meet our Prime Minister and then went out and waved to the crowd that has been waiting and hoping to just see his car on Parliament Hill.

Not sure why Sask. is having their family day today and not last Monday :confused3 Why wouldn't they want a long weekend!

Marita. Did you make it to the meeting on time?

Moo....Pacific Coast Highway. Noted. We'll have to try that. I definitely want to have a chance to at least see the other 2 hotels.

Hollywood just texted me that she's at the sailaway party. Did I mention she was going on the Disney cruise? Anyway, that just made me endlessly jealous. How nice would that be right now? Just got on the ship, enjoying the sail away party. Sunny and beautiful. SIGH.

Was that post exciting or what?

MARITA!!! It's 7:30. Are you up?!!! ;)

Yawn.

I'm getting up, 5 more minutes....
I finally got up at 7:50's on made it to the meeting right on time. WHEW!

Lucky! A work meeting at the Poly is better than sitting at home with nothing interesting to do. ;)

That's debatable.

I already use the prepaiid program, I would go nuts having to sit in the cash lanes 6 times a day. But the prepaid would go up too.

After the meeting today, which ended at 11:30, a group of 14 of us went to lunch at the restaurant at the golf course. It was packed! 40% off for CM's for a few more weeks. Anyway, so lunch took forever. I walked into the office at 1:30 and have a message that Knitfreak and Asst.#2 stopped on the way to give blood, as the Bloodmobile was in the parking lot on the way into the office. Fine, no problem.
At 1:45, a meeting reminder pops up for a Food & Bev Business review. OH NO! Usually the girls lead this meeting and they are out. So I call them. They can't come. Are the reports printed?
NO! So I rush to print reports, make minimal amounts of copies (unstapled) and got to the meeting 5 minutes late. UGH!! We had all forgotten it was on the calendar for today.

As I was typing this, a meeting invite popped up. Sent at 4:20 today for tomorrow at 10am.

Please plan to attend a mandatory Finance town hall hosted by Anthony Connelly. (Exec VP for all of Florida Finance and Accounting.)

The purpose of the meeting is:
[*] To provide an overview of some recent organizational changes
[*] Share with you our organizational structure
[*] Highlight our key business objectives
[*] Answer any questions you may have at this time
Can't wait to see what is happening. It starts at the top and trickles down...

It could be a Province to the west maybe.....:confused3 Wonder if the President is still in the Country?

I am so jealous of your sister since it snowing at this moment. Aww to be up on deck 9 dancing and waving those colourful sticks around. Still can remember Nicholas dancing his heart out to YMCA when we were there in Dec.

Maria-- wish you luck with the re organizing. You sure you can't retire sooner.

NAB, I dont know what I would do all day long. And there sure aren't any jobs around. And I dont think I could do it now financially, as my 401K is wayyyyyyyyyy down and my SS and Disney retirement would be cut due to my age.

Im jealous of the cruise too, I loved it when we went in March.
