Hey everyone! Poppin' in to say hey! Thanks for missing me, Marita, Twink and BBN. I have not had much time of late to engage in drivel and dreck because real life has been impinging on my DIS time. The horror!

I did manage to read back (no skimming - fo shizzle!), and have the following to say:

I was NOT ironing the creases out of the morning paper. Our newspaper delivery boy has received extensive training (from me) on how to roll the Town Crier just so, in order to avoid such inconveniences as creases. Harumph.

I had never heard of U-verse prior to reading about it here. I'm guessing it's a regional thing? Like Hoodsies? Here in the Greatah Bawstin area, we have either Comcast or FiOs. And Hoodsies. But you knew that last part.

I have, however, heard of Smencils. Though I do not know anyone who actually owns them.


In other non-news, Boris and Natasha have no school this week. We have pre-arranged umpty-nine play dates to optimize the vacation fun quotient. Of course, this entails lots of driving hither and yon for me. Oh joy.

BBN, if you miss Yoda, I would happily send you a 15 year old cat with no front claws who would be a lovely addition to your menagerie (and/or would make a darn good paperweight).

Also, kindly elaborate on which services were provided by the Direct TV dude. Inquiring minds blah blah blah....... Also, how much of this "servicing" is the cowboy aware of?

Well, it gets worse, my friends. I'm quite saddened to report that the long-suffering laptop has finally crossed the Rainbow Bridge. (or whatever that euphemism is) Shortly after my last post, there was a nearly-inaudible click, and my old friend shut off. Repeated attempts to restart have resulted in only frustration and the dreaded black screen.

So right now I'm at the family desktop, amid the detritus left here by my DH and the kids. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
