Hello everyone. It's been a crazy few days here. Day before yesterday, DH fell at work and hurt his ankle. An all-day trip to the hospital yesterday gained him a new set of x-rays and a lovely new boot to wear for the next two weeks. Apparently, he tore some ligaments and will be out of work for that length of time. :sad2: The good thing is that he is not in much pain. The bad thing is that he's going to be home for two weeks! Help! While I'm at work, he'll be home making a mess in my kitchen and leaving things around all over the house! Eeek!

Yesterday, while driving down Main Street in my town, I had to swerve to avoid a dead coyote in the road! Scary, since it was around 4pm, and the coyote had JUST been hit. I am told that coyotes are looking to mate around this time of year, which might be why he/she was out while it was still daylight. Yikes!

Lastly, we got MORE snow today...enough that my town actually called off school for the first time this school year. So I decided to take the day off and spend time at home. We enjoyed a lovely day together, just the four of us. It switched from snow to rain several hours ago, but now all the snow we already had is soaked, so there are lots of warnings about collapsing roofs and flooding. Double yikes!

Sounds like this storm hit lots of us pretty hard. Peej, are the roads clear enough to get out of LooUhVuhl? Poor Cookie! I hope he's okay in your class until Monday!

BBN, sorry about your intermittent power. Hope it stays on now! BTW, did you watch last night's episode of Nip/Tuck? :hyper: The last few minutes were horrific! :crazy2: Cel and Twink, did you watch too?

Marita, sorry about the work trauma. And belated woohoo on your 8,000th post!

Everyone else: :wave2:

Lynette - Injured hubby. Dead coyote in the road. Rain on top of tons of snow. All this along with CBM???

Yikes!!!!!!

Unlike B and his dead raccoon, at least you didn't have to worry about stinky coyote guts  :lmao:

Hope your DH mends quickly and doesn't trash your kitchen too badly ;)

Yikes, Lynt? Coyotes mate in January? that seems off schedule. I thought that happend in spring?

Too bad about DH! Hope he gets better soon.

Thanks for the work trauma condolences. Im about to send an SOS email to work and try to go in extremely early (ya, good luck with that).

OK, im off to write my SOS email and then go to bed in hopes of getting up at 5 am. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Brain dead, I tell you!

Ha, Moo! Thankfully, none of these things is anything major for us. DH has about 10 weeks of sick time available, plus can qualify for worker's comp if necessary. We have seen coyotes before in our neighborhood, just never during the day....that's a bit scary, but I'm sure we'll be fine. And our roof is pitched, not flat, so hopefully that won't be an issue. It's just that all these things together makes for an odd couple of days, KWIM? Rather like living in Bizarro World or sumpn.

But, I will second your wish that my DH mends quickly and is kind to my kitchen. He likes to cook when he has time, which can leave a trail of utter devastation if he's unsupervised!

ETA: Marita, that's what I've been told. I would've thought they'd mate in the Spring too, but what the heck do I know about coyotes?

Hubby cooked tonight and left about 5 pots and pans around plus some plates
And I had no time tonight to clean up after him. GRRRRRRR!

See? That's prezackly what I'm talking about! I want to tell him, "Yes, I appreciate the idea that you cooked breakfast for the kids. But now I have to scrape the dried pancake batter off the stovetop, put away all the ingredients, wash a sink full of dishes, and wipe down all the cabinets that now have a fine coating of flour!" But I just thank him and grind my teeth quietly after he leaves the room. Testosterone poisoning....that's what their problem is. They can't help it, poor dears.

Hi, thanks for checking on me. My laptop is costing me a fortune to fix. I have no idea why they sell you service plans when I'm paying just as much to have it fixed. Plus they failed to supply me with some very important operating discs that I now have to acquire before they can fix my computer. That place frustrates me.

They are convinced that they did their job properly and gave me the disc(s). Cause we all remember what a great job they did the last time they botched my laptop.

I brought back the bag they gave me that I never touched and it wasn't in there.

It's a good thing I have a computer class this term and I need my laptop to do my homework.

My cell phone is hard to navigate over here. I can't read anything that's quoted.

This post took about 15 mins to type.

Yikes, Lynt? Coyotes mate in January? that seems off schedule.

They're just trying to stay warm. ;)

I have WIC today at 2:15. Stinky time, but at least it's in my own town and I don't have to drive to the office 45 minutes from here. Hopefully we will get enough milk now so we don't have to keep buying milk. Isaac should be getting milk checks now instead of juice(which he's never had) and baby cereal(also don't use). Plus I'll get checks still since I'm pregnant and I have my proof of pregnancy.

I've been checking my medicaid status online everyday and nothing. She should have gotten my check stubs on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. I am going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed if she doesn't do anything with them.

Lynt - You have a street in your town actually called Main Street? How very cool.

I am very frustrated right now.
:grouphug: :grouphug: Hang in there, Marita.
Why don't you take some time off while I'm in disney this time?
I'll have several days where I'll be by myself - and if you remember the ambulance/ER story from May, that's not a good thing! :scared:
You could babysit me and get a vacation in at the same time! :hyper:

He is the nicest hamster I have ever met.
He sounds great. I didn't know you could train a hamster not to run away. I used to have a very well trained guinea pig - but she was so big, it was hard for her to scurry into the walls, know what I mean?

1. Islands of Adventure is one of our favorite theme parks.
2. actually it's more of a Clint Eastwood..."Go ahead Cookie, make my day.":upsidedow

3. Our power cant make up it's mind if it wants to be off or on.
1. I'm starting to get really really excited! Especially since I found out Mears does a shuttle to Universal for only 18 bucks. :hyper:
2. Oh! Make sure the theme from the good the bad and the ugly plays when you pick him up!
3. Hope you guys stay warm! :grouphug:

1. :scratchin Dating guys isn't working. Don't want to go back to girls. Maybe I should try coyotes!
2. No. I keep falling asleep around 9 and then waking up at 2 am.
it's annoying. :(
I need a dvr!

hope your hubby gets better soon.

My cell phone is hard to navigate over here. I can't read anything that's quoted.
How was your girls trip, mony?

Mommyp - there's lots of main streets around here. The one in Franklin is the best - very cute shops, they shut it down for festivals, etc.
The one in Spring Hill is just the highway.
The one in Nashville is in a not so pretty part of town, so I never go over there.

Hi Moo, allie, java, pumba the snow hater, etc!

My latest eharmony match is "CEO of an Archiological Firm."

Reaaaaally?
Do you dig up dictionaries?
:lmao:

Day 2:

Yes. It is finally morning and I can officially wake up. Rather than have my sleep informally interupted by that incessant racket coming from the bed next to mine. It is 6:30 a.m. the park opens at 8:00 and I want to be first in line for Space Mtn. Since we are staying on-site we get an extra hour of magic don'tchaknow. I notice Celery is still sleeping so I silently begin my morning routine of 100 pushups and 300 situps and hop in the shower. Now I am out of the shower and Celery is still dead to the world. And she WILL NOT wake up. Holy smokes! Is she dead? I know she can't be, she's STILL snoring.

I cannot wake her up and times a wastin. I WANT to go to the park. So, I write a note of explanation and take the bus over to Magic Kingom. I purchase an apple from the first fruit vendor I see for breakfast and run to be first in line on Space Mountain. Oh Happy Day I am first. Before I arrive I strategically grabbed a fast pass for Buzz Light Year for later use when the unwashed masses arrive at the park. Space Mtn. is great, as always. I ride several times as the lines are still short. All in all I rode Space Mtn 4 times and Buzz Light Year three times. In between times I was able to grab another fast pass for Big Thunder Mtn and also rode it and Jungle Cruise three times each. On the way over to Thunder Mtn I watched the show at the castle, rode Peter Pan's flight, experienced Haunted Mansion twice and found the paint brush on Tom Sawyer's Island for which I received yet another fastpass for Thunder Mtn.

It is now 10:30 and Celery STILL has not called my cell phone as I asked her to do in the note I left. I run over to Pirates of the Caribean and ride it twice. On the way I stopped and got a fast pass for Splash Mtn. After POC I return to Spalsh and ride it three times. It is now 12:30 and STILL no sign of Celery. I decide that it has been a pretty full morning and I am getting hungry. I grab another piece of fruit from the next vendor I see and notice that the park is NOW really crowded. As in lots and lots of people. I buy some gifts at the gift shop for the needy children of my parish and wonder what could be keeping Celery. Just then my cell phone (no pun intended Celery) rings and Celery tells me that she just woke up and will be right over. She arrives in time to snag the primo spot on the sidewalk I have reserved for the parade. I give mine to a kid whose parents had not thought ahead far enough to save a spot in the front row. The parade was great but it was now very hot and the park was full of people. I gave Celery my remaining fast passes for Space Mtn. and Jungle Cruise and head back to POP. I have just enough time to get in a late afternoon five mile run around POP and check out the bikinis at the pool. We have dinner reservations for Victoria and Alberts tonight. My treat. Of course.

The run was invigorating and the pool was relaxing. The bikini's were awesome as the Sweedish Swimsuit Team happened to be staying at the complex. How did I get so lucky? How did my wife get so lucky? Three of the Swimsuit models asked for my cell phone number. (no offense Cel) They seemed a little dejected when I told them I was married but I think they will live. I think.

I hurry back to the room to take a shower and get ready for dinner.

Our reservations are at 7:00 p.m. Sharp. Celery arrives back at POP at 6:45 and declares that she is starving and already to go. I ask if she wants to take a shower or freshen up a bit and she says no. So, off we go to Victoria and Alberts. As is.

Here I am.

Here is Celery.

We are both impressed with the restaurant when we arrive. The food, though quite expensive, really is quite exquisite.

Celery DID receive a couple comments about her shirt.

Victoria: That is an interesting shirt you have there.
Celery: Thank you.
Albert: What is that rodent doing?
Celery: Pulling up his fur to show you his beer belly.
Albert: Charming.
Victoria: Quite.

The dinner was excellent. We both had a great time. Celery did not offer to leave the tip. But, I didn't mind. It is now 10 p.m. and time for me to see if the Sweedish Swim Team is at the hot tub.

BDG

GOOOOOD MORNING!!! What's so good about it? I dunno. Just felt like making sure everyone was awake. It's almost noon, so why wouldn't you be?

Marita...did you make it to work a little early? Hope everything gets done in time!

Moo...a guy I went to high school with became a she a few years after we graduated. I was never friends with him. It was quite the scandal at our little school!

L..OUCH! Sorry to hear about DH's ankle! Hope he gets better and out of your kitchen right quick! Hope you enjoyed the snow day yesterday. Back at school today?

Celery
...he doesn't run away because he doesn't go anywhere! He's the laziest little thing.
p.s. I got ahold of the janitor who was going in to check the building today. She is going to check on Cookie. Provided that he's still alive she's going to feed him for me. Our building is still without power. Brrrrr!!!! So, I guess this means the bbn doesn't get to be Cookie's knight in shining armor and sweep him off his feet (paws?). It's too bad, really.

MommyP...hope the appointment goes well. :)

Waiting for this next installment of ADT.

I can't believe you are actually taking the time to write a fake TR. LOL!

Oh B. You DO go on! :rotfl:
I love it!

I wish the part about you taking me to Vickie and Al's was true!
Of course I couldn't leave the tip - do you know what 20% of that bill would be! :scared:

And of COURSE vickie and Al love my shirt - who doesn't love squirrels gone wild? :confused3

I have to be sure to pack that again for this trip.
:scratchin
Maybe I should find a few more "choice" selections!

..we have about 15 I think so far and it is still snowing heavy.

15 inches is way too much to handle. yikes.

Got to go get more blister bandaids, and foot tape, so that the poor boy can walk. Why didn't he tell me before they got so bad! :sad2:

stoicism seems to go hand in hand with that testosterone hormone.

S C R E A M !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

S C R E A M!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember on Seinfeld, when somebody screamed and then Kramer echoed back the scream. Just trying to stand with you in an act of solidarity there Marita.

How's that for the 10Pm news, Marita?

Much better than our 10 pm news. :rotfl:

bbn/PJ - Sorry I'm lumping you together yet again! ACK on the ice and its associated problems!!! What a pain in the astarstar :grouphug:

it's ok. she's always trying to emulate me. i'm used to it.

350, 000 kentuckiana homes still without power. ours went out last night, but is now back on and i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

BBN, sorry about your intermittent power. Hope it stays on now! BTW, did you watch last night's episode of Nip/Tuck? :hyper: The last few minutes were horrific! :crazy2: Cel and Twink, did you watch too?

I dvr'd and watched. and OH MY. I wont give anything away, but I did want to say that the scene between Liz and Christian was touching.

Liz: "It's you Christian. Not some other guy, but YOU. You are pompous, ridiculous, and an *bleep*, but you have got my back like nobody else. And I get you. I really get you. You're my best friend"

Christian: "I trust you like I trust no other woman. I love you Lizzie"

Isn't that what he needs? Just a woman to love him as he is? Flaws and all? But she's STILL gay. Even though, *bow chicka wow wow* with Christian.

Celery? Can you shed any light on the matter?

I quoted more people. Stupid computer! Does that count as a shout out? "more people"?

Wait. Gotta comment on the REAL TR.

Gosh B, that is quite the workout. 5 miles around the POP's hippity dippity pool? Wasnt the lifeguard a little suspicious after about the 20th lap?

I love your formal attire at V & A's, cel.:rotfl:

But how could you sleep in when the one and only spellun king, art critic, parking lot attendant, and world famous TR writer is out grabbing fast passes like there's no tomorrow? ;)
