The worst thing about my work computer dying is that I lost a lot of stuff. Pictures and recipes mostly. Plus tax records, old work files, etc. I really need to take it in to see if they can fix it. I knew I should have backed it up, but did I? NO!!!!!!

Anyway, I went hunting for a green bean recipe I had that was really good. I dont think I found the same one, but this one sounds pretty good. 5 stars from all reviews. I might try half the serving this weekend.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/green-bean-casserole-recipe/index.html

I'd use canned beans myself. I would die if I ate anything good for me, I swear! No fresh veggies for me! Or frozen!

GOOD MORNING!

Just checking in to say we are all safe and healthy here so no worries.

Hope everyone here is fine. I need to read back.

I DID book the 4/3 deal for January. Because I cannot resist a bargain. I'm thinking it will be Mimi's Christmas gift. It was $849 for 2 adults at the Sports and that's not counting the $200 gift card.

I tried to get the POP but couldn't. I'll keep trying. I have 13 days to decide if I can actually pull this off and then I'll have to pay in full. I still have that huge credit from SW airlines from when I canceled the Sept. trip and it has to be used before April.

The only bummer is that our arrival flight is already booked for Jan. 3 and to change it to the 4th is a big jump in the price (unless there's a DING). So I'll have to book room-only for that night so here's hoping for a big GP room only discount. And then we won't have tickets on arrival day.

And that's all I have to say about that. Thanks for your patience.

And thanks to everyone who has pm'd and messaged me. ((big hugs all around))

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Lex! Glad things are going OK and that you were able to book your trip with Mimi :yay: I'm sure you can find plenty of non-park things to do on your arrival day. Like hanging out at the pool if its warm. Shopping and ice cream at Ghiradelli's at DTD. Resort hopping/monorail riding/taking the boats. Mini golf. Checking out the Boardwalk.

I'm really looking forward to my mother/daughter trip with Mari next month.

Hope everyone's having a nice Saturday. It's a tad gloomy here after all of our lovely Indian summer days. Maybe if I get my shower I'll be motivated to do something

Melinda,

Great to hear from you! I was worried too. I miss you around here, please check in more often if you can.

BTW, Thanks for booking!:thumbsup2

I just read the guidelines for ordering holiday turkey/ham for potlucks at work. This struck me as funny:

• All items are prepared in disposable aluminum pans and will be hot at the time of your scheduled pick-up. We will provide plates and/or forks with your order for an additional fee.

You can have either plates OR forks???? Either eat from the plate with your fingers, or everyone dig in the pan with a fork?:confused3 And no knives?????

Funny Marita!

Melinda- I can't even afford the "deal"! :sad1:

Moo- sounds lovely! I'd love some mother/daughter time with my mom.

I just found out my favorite aunt is a big fat racist! UGH! She keeps sending me e-mails depicting our new President elect in a very racist way. Which makes me feel very yucky inside. So I nicely (as possible) replied that we should be praying for and supporting our new leader and to keep her racial e-mails to herself. :sad2: Sigh.

Hi Wendy  Sorry you can't afford the deal. I read the paper this morning, and it's all very depressing, this whole economic issue.

Here is something for the Peeps. My DD just called to see what her blood type is. I asked why. She said her friend has a book called "Diets for your blood type".

Who knew? :confused3 Sounds a tad vampirish to me.

Wendy, that sure sounds like the best way to have handled that

You get to see your mom for Christmas, right? Set up some mother/daughter time!

Marita, I've heard of that blood type diet too. Wonder if it works.

Melinda- I can't even afford the "deal"! :sad1:
I don't remember saying I could afford it. :confused3

Wendee.....I finally asked my mother to take me off her "right wing propaganda email list" two weeks ago and I haven't heard from her since. I rarely send or forward emails of any kind. And no election signs in my yard. Ever. I realize not everybody shares my opinions so I keep them to myself for the most part. Unlike my mother.

Moo....I would so love to take this trip with Mimi. She mentioned last week that she's trying to find some friends so go over Spring Break but she would so love to go over Winter Break. The younger kiddos will be back in school that first full week of Jan. so it would just be the two of us. :) Great ideas for arrival day!! My Plan for arrival day includes visiting the deluxes to see if the Christmas decorations are still up and maybe dinner at Boma for the little vegan girl? My only regret is that we will miss the Christmas parade at the MK (the 3rd is the last day) and it's the last day Splash will be open before refurbishing. :guilty:

Marita....I think the fine print means that you can have forks and plates but either way they're gonna charge you extra. Can I be your Disney relative or something for cheap one day passes in January? :flower3: If we get to come to Orlando in Jan. will you meet us for lunch or sumpn? We promise not to eat any of your lunch this time. :upsidedow

Sounds like a goog plan, Lex! Cel and I ate at Boma in May and I liked it, so I made a ressie there for me and my cousin who is joining me mid-week on the day that Mari is heading home.

My favorite thing at Boma was the black olive hummus and flatbread. Delish!

LOL about the lunch. Mimi was lucky not to eat it all, the bun was really stale!
I can get tickets at a measly 10% discount, if you want. I'd love to do lunch one day, but it depends on when it is. First week of January is forecast week, which is very busy for me, but I'm done by noon Thursday (need travel time after that), or Monday is kind of okay too, but iffy, depending on DVC split (have I ever mentioned I hate DVC? The finance implications, not the product.).
Let me know when and where you are thinking, and we will see.

I don't remember saying I could afford it. :confused3

Had the same issue with my dad. He knows I'm a bleeding heart liberal. But never anything racist."

We arrive early evening on the fourth. Where are you eating? We're at LTT that night, for the last night with characters, Mon at PTC, Tues at Le Cellier, Wed at Donald's Brekkie, Thurs at WCC, Fri at Biergarten, and Sat at Cape May buffet. Then we're hanging around Fla and going to a WKU women's basketball game at Boca Raton(FAU) and maybe doing Universal on Monday.
Wendy, my fave aunt was married to a racist. When my cousin won most studious at her school, and was pictured with a black boy, reading Cat in the Hat together, they had to hide the yearbook from him. What was odd was that he was a full blooded Seminole Indian was was darker than many blacks. Every family has at least one. I just wish he could have lived to see Obama win.:rolleyes1

Yummm! I really loved Boma too. That was the first time I tried hummus and I've been buying it or making it ever since. Sooo healthy and good! I use it often instead of mayo. on sandwiches. BUT, I'm on a big time health kick that I don't see ending any time soon. Boma is one I'd repeat even though I try to try different places every time. NOw, I have to wait a little while to go back but, SHOOT, is it ever going to be special when I do make it back. I think I went so often lately that I needed a tiny break...the economy chose that for me. I'm just trying to make lemon aid out of a bunch of lemons. :lovestruc

If there's a balance on your Chase card, you can afford it :rolleyes1

UGH, I'm skeert to check my emails right now. I think I was pretty diplomatic. I'm just too old to sit back and take that kind of thing anymore. If she chooses to get mad about my nicely asking her to not send racial emails, then it's HER problem, not mine. Mostly, I'm disappointed because she was my favorite aunt and I looked up to her for so many years. She was the COOL aunt. :sad2:

UGH, I swear every family has it's characters, I know. In my family, I'm the NORMAL, sane, GOOD one! :rotfl2: I think I'm more conservative than I am liberal. Hmmm.

Funny about his skin being darker than some African American's skin. Hate wastes a lot of time, I'm thinking.

Ok Moovers, I can now recommend the new Twilight soundtrack. It's got a nice mixture of alternative and soft. Bella's lullaby is great!

If anyone is interested, I just discovered the other day that Allears.net has tons of Disney recipes posted, including cheddar cheese soup and stuff from Boma.

I got the ingredients for the green bean casserole today, and just finished chopping onions, but I think that's all I am going to do tonight...

Just had a lovely night at my DH's company's christmas party. We are at the Marriot in the Renassaince Center, at least I still call it that.

We have a beautiful view of the Detroit River overlooking Canada and Ceasars Casino/Hotel.

And guess what?

No kids!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

morning everyone...

first off ......we have a recipe board right here on the dis......

http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=121

so come on over and visit it. And also the cheddar cheese soup recipe is right there......they tried to do it on the restaurant board but this is where it should be on the recipe board.

Yesterday went shopping with dil and two rug rats......it was a great day. We went to the Christmas Tree shoppe......and it has everything including the kitchen sink (kids of course)!! What a great store. My dil got alot of decorations for their new house and Owen and Megan loved it. Everytime I had to back up the carriage I was pushing with Megan in it...she would beep beep beep......we laughed about it.....hey two kids in a basket for over and hour and a half and they were so darn good...
Also because dil will have the two families together at her house for Thanksgiving. She got white plates. a set of ten was 9.99 so she got twenty.....it was a good deal....I gave her a set of silver that was my moms, so she can have enough for everyone. works great. I am going to keep that set for either a camp or a place in the sun during the winter months ...

Tonight we bring the MEGARA to the fat farm so I can go hunting and not worry about her ....I had people that volunteered to let her out, but she would have to go off back porch to go to the back yard that is fenced in..She only is our baby and I dont want her to get scared and RUN....

It is getting cold again. We always have a wind to that makes it feel colder. At least that is what I tell hubby. He just says I am getting old because I am always cold.

We had more homework drama with Nicholas this weekend. I hope after all this he will never do this again. But I think we are all caught up now.

Plus Hubby was stressing me out because he is going back on that course again, we knew he would but thought it would be next Sept. nope he goes back on Monday! What will happen with our trip? Will I be cruising alone or do we have to cancel it. Guess I have to wait until Monday to find out.

I will be doing a lot of praying at church today. I have been on a roller coaster ride all weekend and need to get off soon.

Pumba-- I love that Megara is your baby. I love the Christmas Store but we don't have them here. We stopped at one on the way to Cape Cod one year.

Mony-- lucky you for a kids free night. Mine is coming at the end of the month if that doesn't get cancelled out too.

It's cold here too! Brrrr!
I'm all kinds of freezing and bundle up and crank up the heater, then I'm sweating to death and stripping of layers. :confused3 Maybe I need estrogen?

PLUS, I'm cranky with hunger yet eat every 2 hours! I think all this exercise is giving me one of those METABOLISM thingies.

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!!!

Nab...  Sounds like you need it. And I'm just nice like that.

L...pictures?

bbn...while I may not fully agree with this sentiment, when I saw it, I figured it was made for you. You're welcome.

Marita...really plates AND forks are a bit much to expect. And now you want knives, too? Sheesh, woman, lower the bar! ;)

Lexi...woot on the mother daughter trip! I think I go home January 5. Is that a Monday? If so, that's when I go home. We're staying at Saratoga Springs. Perhaps I can stalk you. :scratchin

Pumba...happy hunting!

Mony...glad you enjoyed a much-deserved night off!

Moo, Utah, DTD, etc. ......:wave2: I'm not very creative this morning.

I was very productive yesterday and am now done Christmas shopping for my mom, my dad, Hollywood, little sister, and my aunt. There are of course a lot more people to go, but I felt good about those accomplishments! I have a lot of stuff coming up the next few weeks, so I need to get the Christmas shopping out of the way.

Looks like laundry, errands, and lesson plans for me this morning.

Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday! :flower3:

Nabbie! I am sending some of these to you too:  :grouphug: Your hubby starts back on his course on Monday??!!! Please keep me posted on what you decide to do. You know, if you have to cancel the cruise, why not take the kids to WDW (especially if your airline tickets are nonrefundable)? If you can book a hotel for the week, you can hang out with me and Mari. And Twink will be down there at the beginning of that week and Mony at the end of the week.

Mony - w00t on your night out with your hubby! :thumbsup2 Seems a little early for a Christmas party though :)

Peej - Welcome back! My, you've been ambitious with your shopping. And I agree . . .

Lynette - We want pics! We want pics!!!!!!!

Wendy - I feel for you on running hot and cold. What a pain.

Pumba - I love going to Christmas shops. Even if you don't buy anything, it's fun to look and really gets you into the spirit of the season. I'm going to try to talk my hubby into going to Frankenmuth where they have a HUGE Christmas store around Thanksgiving so I can get my fix.

here..i go ..again..lil'motor running , jus because..i read a lil'story

..a long time ago...."i think i can!" know it?

..all~right, i gotta be me...which means plugging for those things

..that got me where iam today~shucks..wish it could been wdw,
but oh , well....not going let life lil'disappointers....take me down??

how'bot you..is everybody..happy in our cyber space??

......good will hunting...~ "not your fault"..., one of my reminders

....is exactly that..."it's not your fault"...when others, do you

wrong..per your estimations,...accept & readjust....back to the

future! keep moving forward..., by "meet the robinsons"....ha! yu
kno?..common sense......& the dynamics....making life functioning
...as i 've..seen.....are quite simple in their devices? sooooooo

........those with super educated talents..often fail, tripped up
by the easy & simple things...we either take for granted or
..forget about. hymmmmm, but something we can do about...
if only we try? soooooooooooo,

"reminders"...are producing....our most sucessful interventions..for
recovery. :yay:

pills?..are chemical measures..& because..we are running on chemical
..interactions...they do interact...but educational & wised teachers,
need to point out...each person values...must [as in a requirments]

..as far as they go, we need to control them instead of the reverse.

it is the reverse..thnat is being promoted by drug companies...for
profit...sooooo where are our true drs?..{ when did they get by
passing the "oath"...so be forewarn, think foe oneself, & evulate
& gain...knowlwedge..to manage & control....all you put into yor
bodies..remember?..who will pay the consequences...& the desire
for maintaining...so you can go get .....all the happiness in life.

first caution...it isn't in a pill. the good news..one controls their
destiny.

women need love..men wants love. beneath..all the thrills, we are
all the same..needing good company, good will hunting. people makes
up the dynmaics..in your life. however, we..by society..have
established society...which..is nothing but a structure , by formating.

............utahm?..halloween decorations...seting up..racial undetones.

..this is what i thought..not surprised..@ all....you would recognized
mean & nasty...thinking. ......what has reality..taught me....well, you
do kno..i'm on the learning curve/s too?!..ha!..remember the pt.?
"dan, i jus wish i learnt the things, you taught.....when i was younger?
..so do i", so do i!!!.......there're only 2 types.....of people living in
the world....since the begining ages?......males & females?...right?
everything else is window dressing? [ persoanlly...i hate dresses,:rolleyes1

......we must have those 2 types..in order to have a future?

..reality..taught me.....though under different infuences....the baselines
are the same. but if sooooooooo why are there such...negative
feelings toward each other? competetion is a factor..then there 're
illnesses....many thinking they feel better if they rate themseleves
above...others?...& the easy way to do that...is to take away
their values.

funny creatures we are, because it's another reality...we do respond
to changes. :lmao: ,. but noticed,,how so mnay..fight against,
refusing..even if the changes...would give them a better/quality
life. :rolleyes1 ?..as for above........you see?..we all have this lil'
need..that is stronger for food..that requires...maintaining our
sanity. we need each other...& yet, we  ...to hate?

..wonder will these lil'mixed up feelings..lead the person's life?

* my work..is very unusual...as "we"....are "dumped on" &
abused..by those in charge..having no respect...and are as
ignorant...of what we truly "need"..for us ...to do our
job...helping/directing recover...for community re-entry.
..yuo kno what?...the admin-axx-tors..including our chief nurse,
..won't allow..us..so when the population under our directions,
...are failed...mostly by other services..."we"....are set up
to reeived ..all..the blame. that's our reality. however, the
value...of knowing it? , "we"..kno..the tasks..@ hand..so
we make the "adjustments as necessary." * note..did anyone
think?...what kind of dr...placed a nursing home pts. in
an acute psych .ward?...or the "od" pt. ....., he was in
trouble..before..arriving. [ the problem...we had to wait..
for the first s/s of distress...before "we could redirect...
him where he belong..icu...., but the first s/s almost cost
him his life? who's in charge...of this madness? just so you
kno..they covered up..and do not give..any of us ..the
power...to addressed..., by a "blaming system."

so we do it among...ourselves.., i stopped in..& talk with one
of the nurses..., the med. dr. sent a pt. with a heart 42,
and claimed he was stable??? it was the nurse...redirecting,
and getting heckled..now you kno...what it really take..to
do this job...

but ...see....why.....we are focused...on true interventions producing
the most gain..for the person 's recovery. we are limited..by the
"best"..we can do....to show others...how they can help themselves.

& it is my opinion..we have drs..that should be fired...of course,
i don't have no adminsators..powers but if..i did.....& this is nothing
new..nurses..with the knowledge power..to improve health care
are overruled those in power. sad.

the 2 most important things..i've learn from my work? as long
as you maitnain the ability..to think for yourself, recovery is an
option...once you lose that ability, & must depends..on others
to do your thinking....there is no hope. & because we are
by choice, as long as we chose...we can change negative
to positive. hope. next..feeling sorry for oneself..is ineffective
coping. nobody's give a dime. :rolleyes1 , but....what i've
learn..that's actually a positive concept. because for others
to care, for your well being....you first must show all the postive
things you can be, :flower3:

no matter what...life is wonderful!..it may not be prefect, but
there are so many...choices. one of the best way to influence
others....is an act of kindness.

say..what you like...but, i  ..simple things!

hey, wanta..know..the best thing..about organized sporting events?
getting others to see the value..of working/sharing/supporting
one another. & this is the best reason..i~ :cheer2: ..college
football..getting the players seeing the values of different...races.

moo?....don't kid..yourself..michigan...has alot of talent on their
team..the changes...are not going to keep them down for long.
..now, watched..out for the "m~staters", :thumbsup2 , oy, we
sure had fun..with the team..last year @ wdw.:wizard:

nabby, you might..be surprise...how much....i make..but, jus
like the song...works hard..:rolleyes1 * note..this, i 'm busy
passing on..to the new nurses...under my direction...., one from
germany..backstage gal, blond & blue eyes..the guys really
give her alot of attentions..ahhhh, human nature?

how did i get..this old?
