Mony - My kids will eat almost anything. They especially love raw vegetables.:confused3

Mony-- mine won't eat anything mixed together. For that matter they get mad at me if anything is touching on there plate.

I would love to make more casseroles but they won't eat them. I love chicken pot pie too, no to that too. I will not make all different things though, I am not a restaurant I tell them.

Mommy p-- mine wouldn't eat raw veggies for a long time now Hannah will get them, her favourite is red peppers. Nicholas will only eat carrots.:confused3

It is sunny and suppose to be spring like weather today, good thing Nicholas has a field trip to the Toronto Zoo.

It's election day finally....:yay: But there will be nothing on TV tonight but your coverage of the election.

 gang.

We had a great Halloween and then we went to the IU football game on Saturday.

Lilg: Didya see us on the Big 10 network?

Then I worked on Sunday and one of the new nurses was having a bad day and couldnt get an IV started, so to boost her confidence, I told her she could try to start one on me. But she missed. and then she missed again. and then again.

Finally, she said "I give up". But she looked like she was going to cry, so I picked out a big vein and said "Try right here. One more time"

She got it! When I came home the kids asked why I had band-aids all over my arms. The things I do for my coworkers!:rotfl:

I'm headed to the Boston area tomorrow. The dh and I are going to meet Stephen King. Maybe we'll sneak up on a snarkbritches while we're there.:magnify:

Have a nice rest of your week. Ciao!

I Voted!! And it didn't take 2 1/2 hours like it did in 2004. :yay: I think "they" learned their lesson from the 2004 debacle that "they" opened more polling places.

Mony - sorry you and Tim are under the weather. Don't worry about your kids eating. They will eat when they get hungry. My DD is VERY picky, so I can relate. My kids know that if they don't like what I fix, that they have to come up with their own dinner. I only cook ONCE. ::yes::

BigGuys
- Welcome Home!!!

MommyP - A shark!! :scared1: Glad they were in the sand and not the water.

BBN - are you some kind of celebrity to get to rub elbows with Mr. King? ;)

NAB - sorry that your TV won't be too good. Maybe you have something recorded. :rolleyes1 I'm glad that we won't have to see those commercials anymore.

So much material, so little time.

Sharks in the water? avoid them. My parents took me to the Florida beach the year that Jaws came out. It now family legend how quickly I exited the ocean after my first taste of salt water.

Mrs. Knitfreak- I am really enjoying hearing about the budding romance of my imaginary friend's co-worker. You just don't get any closer than that.

Mac-n-cheese loving kids who don't want food to touch? Sounds normal to me. Everyone has their own theory. I am very laid back. I am also someone who loves to experiment with recipes.... so often dinner is a little strange. To me the goal is manners and nutrition so we practice how to handle a plate full of yucky food with good manners. I am not a short order cook but they are welcome to eat what they like among the food that is on the table/offered. Kids really are just not hungry sometimes. Especially if mushrooms or other fancy ingredients are involved. I was much more worried 4 kids ago. Some of mine are more willing to try than others, one has actual real issues but does great anyway. As long as they are not living on twinkies and diet 7-up, I think it will all work out. One more thing: my kids are starving at 4-5 pm and not so hungry at almost 7 pm when we eat most days (dh gets home late, kids sprots etc etc) so I just go with their natural rhythem and serve a huge "snack" at 4 of pb&j and apple slices and carrot sticks and pretzels. That way I figure nutrition is covered and anything they eat at dinner is a bonus. I also try to serve at least one healthy& kid friendly side because I do not cater. Eat off what is offered or don't eat. Breakfast will be served tomorrow morning.
Calvin's mom from Calvin&Hobbes also has some good suggestions for getting kids to eat:lmao: ;)

Yes NAB- the tv will soon not be dedicated to an election that you can't even vote in... I don't know what I will do without all the politcal ads in my mailbox. Goldenchild thinks he gets several pieces of mail each day now.

Maybe someone should warn Stephen King that a hotT college chick and a cowboy are on the way.

Babycow! Tell mr king I said hi and I'm very glad he finished the dark tower series.

Mr. King was brought up not more then ten miles from here...I have read alot of his books ......I think mainly because he was from Maine. He is an alumnus of University of Maine where my dgd goes. He has a special box that he watches the hockey games from......Only wish he didnt use such horrible four letter words to express himself.. I read Lincoln CHild and Douglas Preston books now and they are creepy without saying ca ca words.....not that I am a prude...but.

Have fun in the Boston Area.......

at quarter past six this morning....the dog is barking like a banshee......I hear fire trucks coming ....I think GOOD LORDY NOT AGAIN.....remember last week there was a bad fire that took almost four hours to put out...so anyways....I take megara out in the back yard and the boy next door is yelling at me......seems like the house that is completely gutted ....the smoke detectors was going off......I know that is why the workers got the heck out of the bld last week.....they heard the alarms go off.....but this going off today is a day late and a dollar short.....ROFL...

Yay, Allie and Twink for being able to vote quickly! There were only a few people in line in front of me. It's pretty nice having the day off work.

Our weather here is just gorgeous today too, Nabbie. Has Hannah seen the new Tinkerbell movie yet? Did it come out this week in Canada too?

I have a couple things recorded to watch tonight. It's pretty easy to watch shows on the Internet these days too.

bbn - Sounds like an interesting trip even though I'm not a Stephen King fan. I try really hard not to read or watch scary stuff. Are you going to get together with Lynette during your trip? :)

Ouch on being a human pin cushion for the sake of science

Pumba - Hope the firemen take care of the problem quickly. Our dogs are pretty hard to quiet down once they get barking too.

Mrs. Knitfreak- I am really enjoying hearing about the budding romance of my imaginary friend's co-worker. You just don't get any closer than that.

Twinkie, that made me LOL!

Moo, that's scary about the deer :scared1: Glad both of you are OK!

BBN, I say OUCH to the pin cushion too. Have fun in Boston!

All the good weather must have moved up north. It only got to 66 today and gray and overcast. I just wore a long-sleeved blouse, and I was COLD. The paper said it was supposed to get to 80 - NOT!

They just had a news story about the voting line at our University, 4-5 hours long , probably has a lot to do with young people reported wanting to wait till official election day. Another problem is that a lot of students didn't bring ID's, or had incorrect address, or plain just hadn't looked at the ballot before :sad2:

I now have spell check in here. I downloaded Firefox yesterday, and it tells me when I'm wrong. Not sure how I feel about that, LOL. It doesnt like Twinkie (the spelling) firefox (without the capital F) or LOL...

I voted too! NO line at all! Which is good since it's raining/snowing today!

I was all revved up for a wait-wait based on the early voter-voting lines that were obnoxiously long.
Got a swell sticker! Shoot, they had tons of stickers. I could have gotten a crap load of free stickers AND a hand-full of free fun-size Snickers that the old people were handing out. Precious slow old people!

Twinkie- I like your 'tude on dinner. I like to experiment too ;) . I especially love to wait till they've all eaten HALF of their macaroni and cheese and say something like: "You can't even taste the cauliflower, can you???" Mama Fun! :thumbsup2

Wendy - along with your sticker, you can get a free cup of coffee at Starbuck's, a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme, ice cream from Ben and Jerry's, and a Chicken Sandwich from Chick fil A. You can make a whole meal plus dessert, just by voting today. ;) :rotfl2:

I went to vote right after work and walked in and was back out in 2 minutes. No state elections and local was mayor and board. Almost painless.
Mr. King was brought up not more then ten miles from here...I have read alot of his books ......I think mainly because he was from Maine. He is an alumnus of University of Maine where my dgd goes. He has a special box that he watches the hockey games from.
He also watches women's basketball from the same box. We played UM about 13 years ago and before the game, SK was announced. He stood about halfway up and deigned us with a regal wave. This was before the accident.
Mony- Mushrooms, blechh!*#@! But as a Big Guy, I've learned to 'rassle em off to the side. Kids at the hospital won't eat mixed veggies, but if we put them in veggie soup they gobble it up. But they love casseroles. Especially if they have some heat to them.

Was that a trick or a treat? Of course, WKU fans shouldn't be taking pot shots. We stink.

I'm spending most of my spare time trying to get WDW trip for January. It's so nice being able to plan and not just wait and see. Bot my ADR's, everything I wanted when I wanted. Now I just need to book a Keys to the Kingdom tour and keep hoping for a code. Luthor, if you hear anything, shout. BTW, we're at the Pop and have a fridge swap worked out. We get thee late on the 4th and get our fridge in the mornig of the 5th. Which means we will arrive in 2 months. Marita, you still owe me a happy dance.

HEYYY!
I was ALL excited for my free sticker!

There was a bowl of fun-size Snickers that the old people volunteers were pushing. I just made a gigantic sign of the cross and ran away. (Just kidding on that last part).

No, take your sticker to your local Starbuck's and you'll get a free cup of coffee, really. Honest. :)

Those are all give away's today to encourage people to get out and vote. Although, I feel jipped cause we didn't have any old folks with candy.

Harrumph! There were NO Election Day treats passed out at my precinct! But I did get a sticker. Had to get out there to cancel out my hubby's vote ;) Hope my DD isn't having any problems voting in NC.

DTD, sounds like your January planning is going very smoothly :thumbsup2

I am one day away from my month countdown! :woohoo: And Twink is even closer!!!

Just for the fun of it, I poked around on the Disney Web site to see if there was any availability on-site for my entire week as an alternative to the Dolphin. Nope. Just thought I'd see if I could manage that for Magical Express purposes. So I'm thinking I will try a town car this time. Pumba was kind enough to let me know which service she has used and was happy with. I hate to spend that much $$, but I may have my DD use that to get back to the airport and I'll switch to Pop for my last night so I can take ME to the airport. I've been hanging on to that ressie until I make up my mind

Somewhere in Florida, a bar gives you a free beer for your voting sticker.

Lines here were short today too, except for the University.
There, some guy was handing out APPLESAUCE!

DTD, what do I owe you happy dance for? Memory issues, ya know. But here you go!:yay: :dance3: :cheer2:    :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

So I go and vote today.

I was told there was an open cubicle on the end.

I point over there? with a question tone in my voice and he nods yes. It was hard to tell there was an open cubicle.............BECAUSE

As I walk over to my appointed cubicle, there's a woman who has her 2 pre-teen children with her next to mine.

They are huddled around their cubicle. Arms around eachother and whispering.

The mom is kinda short with a very very very wide back side.

I have nothing against large people. I love my large self very much. I just find in this situation, this lady was majorly inconsiderate.

She is closest to my side and her bottom is taking up more than half of my space.

I couldn't stand in my cubicle.

I asked the man if these cubicles moved over. As I tried to actually move mine over ( I knew they were attached and I was trying to get her attention)this lady was not catching on.

He looked at me and the situation and apologized that they didn't.

So I preceeded to hold my paper up to my face so I could one read what was on the ballot and two I had to use my hand to color in my circles.

At one point the lady leaned over with her head into my cubicle and this moment was very uncomfortable.

While trying to fulfill my patriotic duty and vote all I could think of was taking my hip and whacking hers so hard. the images that went through my head, and the domino effect it could have caused. The headlines it could have made on yahoo news. ...... Chaos at the polls as one mom hip checks another voter because her space was being invaded.........details at 11.

So, instead I chose to share this with you all.

I figured out that I knew who she was and held my tongue. We never met, but I watched her neice in my day care.

They actually live in my sub.

I just don't get people.

I voted! Now I am watching the results and watching the internet updates at the ame time. Internet has actually been faster.

Monica - glad we didn't have to read about you on the 10 o'clock news. ;) Sorry you didn't have a pleasant voting experience today. Ours was soooooo much better than 4 years ago. Of course it helped that our director decided to close school, so we got to vote during the middle of the morning when crowds weren't as bad. :thumbsup2

Marita - Applesauce?! YUCK!! I just read over on the CB that a girl at UCF didn't vote because the wait was 5 hours. Sounds like they don't have their act together. :sad2: I'm really surprised she hasn't been flamed yet. She stood in line for 2 hrs. this morning, but had to get out of line due to the fact she would have gotten a zero if she had been late to class. Seems like the professors could have been a little lenient today? :confused3 I am also surprised about how close the results are on the DIS.

Moo - How's your car after your encounter with the deer?
