Allie, sounds like most of the STUDENTS didnt have their act together. They sent in in more poll workers at about 4 pm. They said anyone in line at 7pm would get to vote. They expect it to be pretty much to be the last place to post results.

I'm just waiting to hear of whatever Florida messed up this year! Remember the hanging chads of 2000? And something happenen in 2004 too. Recount!

Update!
News just said only 75 people left in line at UCF now!

Oh, who could forget? :rolleyes1 Never knew what a "chad" was until then. :confused3 :rotfl2:

That is why I am amazed that they (the media) are calling states before they (the states) are done counting the votes. Haven't they learned anything from previous years? :confused3 I don't understand it, but I guess it isn't for me to understand. Of course, it hasn't kept me from being glued to my computer. :surfweb:

UPDATE: Just dropped DS off at basketball practice, and there was a terrible wreck in front of the school where they were practicing. When I looked, I told DS, that the car looked like one of his teammates cars. Well, I dropped off DS, after swerving around the wreck, and that boy was not at practice yet. I told the coach that I would go check, and it was him. Saw him from a distance with his mom and dad. It is a bad wreck, but the boy seems to be ok. It just has me shook up since DS is just learning to drive.:scared: Oh, and two of the people involved walked away from the scene. They had a state trooper and other officers looking in our buses. These are the same buses that DD takes to school.

Backstage Gal said:
Allie, that us scary!! Glad the boy is OK!

Yes, he is, but I can't say the same for his car. It was a pretty red mustang.:sad2:

Ok, I just heard a helicopter fly overhead. I think I am going back to the school to get DS now. I'll keep you posted.

Well, at least this has sidetracked me from being glued to the TV/computer screen. ;)

Chaos at the polls as one mom hip checks another voter because her space was being invaded.........details at 11.

I laughed out loud. For reals.

Election update: the old people where I voted had hershey kisses and breath mints.... I didn't take either. However the church I am a member of, NOT where I get to vote, handed out homemade cookies.

Allie: :scared1: glad the boy was okay- I am so not looking forward to DS being able to drive :faint:

Scary stuff, Allie  Hope everyone was OK.

Fortunately, my car wasn't damaged. It may be that just a back hoof hit my car. I looked out into the field where it ran in front of me and didn't see anything, so it may not have been hurt. From what I saw, it had a pretty good set of antlers.

I just talked with my daughter - she's over at a friend's house watching election returns. A lot of her friends worked for Obama's campaign.

Mony - Sorry to hear about your trouble voting  Look at the bright side, though. It was probably a good experience for the kids to experience the polling place. I still remember taking Mari into the voting booth with curtains when she was little. Man, that used to make me nervous worrying that I hadn't put all the levers where they were supposed to go :lmao: I much prefer filling in the little ovals :upsidedow

Let me just say that teaching him to drive has been the hardest thing I have had to do as a mother. I am NOT enjoying it one little bit.

Yes, the boy is fine. The others who saw him said that he just had a little cut. DS said that it was his mama's car. :sad2: His airbag deployed, so I'm sure that was a good thing, but all the damage was on the driver's side. They were pulling the other car out of the ditch when I brought DS home.

You're lucky that your car wasn't damaged. I've heard that deer can do a number on your car. Wonder how it compares to a goose? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

LOL, I was thinking about that! I don't think I want either!

ETA: Cripes. how did it get to be almost 11 already?????? I thought it was like 9 pm!

They're coming to take me away!!!!!!!!! LiL G, I might need your help for mental health issues!

Allie - I sure don't think I would care to have a goose hit my windshield, but a few years back when I hit a deer, it did several thousand dollars worth of damage.

Well, they just called the election. Wow, that's a lot of people gathered in Grant Park in Chicago.

Was there really any doubt? The polls have been favoring Obama.
Moo, why would there be unrest in Chicago?

When the mom handing in her voting card, she said, I didn't know what I was doing I was so nervous.

I'm not looking for sympathy, I really thought it was funny after the fact, especially when I got to tell Tim about it.

Maybe the kids were holding moms hand and helping her through her first time voting.

I agree Cheryl, I'm sure it was a positive experience for them.

I guess she was so worked up, she didn't realize that MY SPACE WAS BEING INVADED.:crowded:

And from what I've learned in Psych class, us americans like our space.:snooty:

glad you are ok, those deer can cause a lot of damage here in MI.

No unrest, Grant Park in Chicago is where BO's celebration party is. Something like 80,000 people invited. Wish I were there. But McCain definitely showed what a great American he is tonight with the best concession speech ever. When he says he will do what he can to help BO, I believe him. It was so obvious he was embarassed by some of his supporters booing Obama. Course, idiots are on both sides.

Totally off subject!

SO today I went to the cafeteria to get a grilled ham and cheese on rye.

And the girl said, we don't have ham. WTH? Im sure I ordered it before.

SO I got a plain grilled cheese on white. With yucky soggy fries.

Ya'll are welcome for this fascinating post!

Ooohhh, I forgot to tell my funny voting story. When I went out to my car, I opened the door, and realized it wasn't MY car. :scared1:

I blurted out loud, "Ooops, this isn't my car!" The guy getting in his car next to me just chuckled. Luckily, I didn't know him and will probably never see him again. :rotfl2: It was a car that was EXACTLY like mine except it had a Lipton Green tea in the cup holder. That is what clued me in. It was the same color inside and out. I was very embarrassed. I'm just glad the owner of said vehicle didn't see me. :upsidedow

Well, this is a very historic day for America.

Ooohhh, Marita, a grilled cheese sandwich sounds really good right now. YUM!

Thanks Moo!

I hope he speaks soon.Bo that is. Otherwise I have to call it a night.

I'd like to volunteer in my retirement, if only it paid some money! :rotfl:

Marita, that many people crammed so close together in one place just makes me nervous!

DTD, I agree that that was a classy speech by McCain.

That was a great speech by BO! All warm and fuzzy.

I just hope it makes my 401(k) go up!

HMM, I wonder if BO is going to be the new name for our pres?

I mean no disrespect by this at all, but every time I see you post "BO", I first think Body Odor. :rotfl2:

Mommy p-- mine wouldn't eat raw veggies for a long time now Hannah will get them, her favourite is red peppers. Nicholas will only eat carrots.:confused3
Yuck, I hate carrots. My boys consider them to be a snack.
Especially if mushrooms or other fancy ingredients are involved.

Eat off what is offered or don't eat. Breakfast will be served tomorrow morning.
In our house mushrooms are the new shrimp. (to my boys) and we have that same rule about dinner.
I especially love to wait till they've all eaten HALF of their macaroni and cheese and say something like: "You can't even taste the cauliflower, can you???" Mama Fun! :thumbsup2
LOL I do things like that too. When I switched over to ground turkey instead of beef I waited a few meals until Chad had mentioned how it was the best he ever had and then told him it was turkey. :rotfl:
Oh, who could forget? :rolleyes1 Never knew what a "chad" was until then. :confused3 :rotfl2:
They probably made up the name for that. Voting with the new system was way easier to screw up that with the poking out the chads. If you can't handle poking the chad out you shouldn't be voting.

I just hope it makes my 401(k) go up!

I just hope it doesn't make my taxes go up.

Taking the boys to go and visit with a friend today. Thankfully she lives in a community with a playground and pool.
