I am no longer certain that I am.
So my computer uses a wireless dohicky (that is a technical term) to get to the internet. It is about the size of a cell phone and plugs into a usb port on my computer which sits on the ground next to the desk in the dining room turned office/playroom.
My baby loves to unplug and chew on it. LOVES IT. This of course slows down my posting witty commentary on any board I happen to frequent.
So tonight I get the brilliant idea to set up some sort of obstacle. There happens to be some boxes of ebay items (a whole 'nother thread) in the room so I pile them in front of the computer. Now I can't open the cd drive but my internet should be safe.
What did the baby do?
Yup. You guessed it. Climbed the boxes easy as pie and was then able to reach the mouse, the keyboard, the bills AND the wireless dohicky.
I redirected him to an educational toy and rearranged the boxes to be more intimidating.
He proceeded to crawl under the desk with the intent to play with the pretty red switch on the surge protecter.
I redirected him to an educational toy.
He quickly scaled the new and improved boxes and took over the mouse.
I redirected him to an educational toy.
He somehow found a bobby pin to chew on while he was reclimbing the boxes.
I give up. Either he is brilliant or I am not smarter than a 10 month old (maybe both). I think his new nickname is McGyver.

Also, his class was just assigned a MAJOR project on our town and its natural resources, so I've spent lots of time overseeing his use of the interweb in order to obtain the proper info.
). He started that last week, so I was on kid patrol all by my onesies three nights last week. This week, he's only scheduled for 2 days at the second job. Unfortunately, one of those days is our town's annual Parade of Horribles, so he'll miss out on that this year.
