Totally SKimming -

1. I cannot log in on my Dad's computer as Sandy321 - really... I've tried... I gave up and can be eeyore again - "thanks for noticing me"

2. Ran that Half Marathon in Chicago Last Sunday. Nearly killed me! If not for the WISH team, I would've sat down until a medic came and took me to the finish line, I am NOT kidding. My ankle pain was too much, but gosh darn it i wanted the medal!! I ran 6 miles with a WISH team mate, and talked, I've never been able to keep up with someone and carry on a conversation. Hate that I broke down at the end. Altho it is quite comical now. FDIL did too, we were at teh hotel and just LOL at us - from a chair to the bathroom, to the bed, every hour we'd move to a bed, chair - every hour limping and whining and in pain!! LOL

3. Dogs were "repossesed" by a possessed extremist owner of the Shelter - I was having nightmares of Ellen Degeneres.... really!! SHE called and threatened me with the POLICE if I didnt return both dogs in 15 min. It was horrible. The male dog bit my son and my dh one too many times while I was in Chicago, so my son went to return him, and they FREAKED, either keep both dogs, or return BOTH dogs, its not in the contract I signed, but you cant win with some organizations and besides I had to go to the lake.

4. The lake, I"m at my mom and Dad's lake cottage, with ds and fdil and dd, its a mess. The shower is set for Sat, about 25 people have RSVP'd and my mom is toxic. I hate when she screams at me, yells, and tells me to shut up and slaps me!! My offense? I was trying to comment on John and Kate + 8 - some of the "things" about Kate, well that was just wrong of me!! When mom finally finished her point, and dd and I went to bed (and the lecture included false facts about insemmination, and abortion btw!) dd commented "well that was an interesting lecture". Prayers will be welcomed.

and of course, as I skimmed and read, I do stop, and bow my head in prayer!! adding "HUGS" and love!!

(DH is on his Boy Scout Adult leader training - he just had to take one of the Staff to the hospital, apparantly he reached under another staffers knife to get a potato to chop - who knew a knife could cut?!! *duh)

Hi Pumba Baby Brielle is is in our prayers and we are sending her positive energy to find her a donor.

Thanks for the prayers for my godfather and wishes of blood-free nostrils for Natasha. She had another nosebleed this morning at 2:20....it lasted for about 20 minutes. So I called the pediatrician first thing this morning, and he's going to see her later this afternoon. Fingers crossed that it's nothing, please, everyone!

As for my godfather, we still haven't heard what's going on. His wife is a bit of a lunatic, and she thrives on drama, so I imagine she's purposely withholding the latest info just to be difficult. :sad2:

Mony, I'm adding extra prayers for Tim. Hope his appt. goes well.

Melinda, yup...Natasha's pillowcases look like something out of a horror movie. :scared:

MamaCel, I hope to heaven that Natasha's nose does NOT need to be cauterized! I don't even want to think about it!

Pumba, adding prayers for baby Brielle too. God bless her.

Sandy - Sending Hugs  , Pixie Dust pixiedust: , and Prayers  your way. I am so PROUD of you finishing. I read your report over on the WISH board. You DID it! That's what counts. I always tell myself that I am better than the folks that are still at home in bed or on their couches watching TV. :rotfl2: Sorry you had to give up both dogs, but it sounds like your "little man" had issues. Hey, I'm starting to think about the half in 2010. Trying to figure out how I can swing that. :rolleyes1

Pumba - Sorry to hear that baby Brielle isn't doing well. I'll pray that a donor is found and that she gets a speedy transplant.

DD starts piano with a new teacher today. I hope it goes well. My dd loved her when we met her, but I'm afraid she's a little "scattered". I hope I am just being oversensitive. She just isn't as organized as our last teacher was.

Thanks, Allie!

Forgot to say:

Sandy...YAY on finishing! As for Mom and puppy trauma, all I can say is  . Never mind them.....concentrate on having a great time at the shower!

Hey big L - My nose was cauterized several times (different vessels each time) and while it hurt like the dickens, it was a very welcome relief.
Nose bleeds are scary and a pain in the keester.
Natasha is a smart cookie. If she does need to be cauterized, tell her Auntie Cel said it will hurt, but it is very worth it in the long run not to have to constantly use the makeup emergency bag and deal with stained clothes.
(that's what she calls it, right?)

Thanks so much, Cel! You're so sweet to remember Natasha's emergency beauty kit (you were thisclose to remembering the exact name!). If cauterization is the way we have to go, I'll tell her. But I still pray that it isn't! :faint:

Lex - Hope you get the book back from Mimi soon! Both of your options for a close-ish girls trip sound pretty fun. I thought of one other possiblity, but I'm not sure how far it would be. What about going to Dresden, Ohio where they make Longaberger baskets? There are some nice B&Bs there and interesting shopping opportunities.

L - Hope Natasha's poor little nose has settled down! Continuing to send prayers your way :goodvibes

And for Brielle, too, Pumba :grouphug: Can they transplant a portion of an adult's liver or does it have to be from a child?

Twink - We hear a helicopter fly over our house on occasion - we think it's the power company checking the electric lines.

Sandy - Sorry you're having such a rough time lately  That was kind of freaky about having to return both dogs  CONGRATS on your race, though!!! Hope the shower goes well.

Mony - Are you feeling better tonight? Migraines suck.

Allie - I always wished I had been able to take piano when I was young. I'm sure lessons will go fine for your DD ::yes::

BH - I cracked up over your Back to Class graphic. Now THAT would be a scary teacher! :scared:

Hope Peej had a wonderful start to her new teaching job!!!!!!!

My DD didn't get an in-person interview after her extension service phone interview, but she has a different interview in Pennsylvania on the 28th. And she'll be home for a visit a week from today!!! :dance3:

Evening, everyone.

I second everything that Moo said!!

Moo, sorry about DD's interview  Better luck to her next time, something will come along. And YAY on impending visit!

Lexi, I just started Breaking Dawn. I thought this one was the book from Edwards poing of view, and that eclipse was tha last book in the series. So glad I was wrong, I thought they left us hanging with the conversion or whatever may happen in BD.

Our little group of 8 is holding a baby shower for the boss tomorrow, but he doesn't know it. I need to go get a gift certificate tomorrow morning. Nothing like waiting till the last possible minute

DH and I got a letter from the commander of the Officer Training school today, congratulating us on and thanking us for our support. It said in part:

"I know you are as proud as I am of this significant milestone. The high expectations and stressfull demands OTS places upon its trainees mean only the very best will make it through this program. The dedication he displayed while at OTS was inspiring to the staff and his fellow trainees alike. As a new second lieutenant, we look forward to the contributions he will make as a leader and Air Force Officer. I am confident he will meet the challenes we face in the 21st century with the same dedication and spirit he displayed throughout his training career."

Sniff!!! It was a form letter, I am sure, but still, it was nice. It will go into the scrapbook DD is going to make for hiim.

Very nice letter Marita.

Hi all ...in about 10 mins turn the TV to NBC an watch world history in the making...Mike Phelps will win more gold medals than anyone in this upcomming race(positive thinking)

Tim has another surgery in his future. I'm sure tomorrow we will have one set.

This surgery will tell us if there is more cancer. There is one big spot, 1cm, that will require part of the rib to be removed to biopsy it.

Then there is a concern for several more smaller spots that are scattered on other ribs.

Please help me pray that these are just from when he cracked his ribs and not more cancer.

Migrain is gone. Left about 2pmish.

I've been doing laps on the track this week while Zach is at football practice. This week so far I've walked/runned 10 miles.

That's pretty huge for me.

Helps to clear my head.

My heart is just going out to Baby Brielle and her family. She is still in my prayers.

Mony! You KNOW we'll be praying for Tim :grouphug: Glad that migraine is gone. Goog plan to get some exercise while Zach is at practice.

Very nice letter, Marita, form letter or no!!! PM me your address and I'll mail you some military stickers that I have that are just sitting here not being used for your DD to use in DS's scrapbook.

BH - Hubby is watching Burn Notice. The actor that played Daniel Jackson on Stargate is in this episode. He's looking pretty scruffy pirate:

Monica Prayers for Tim

Mr Murry.......the owner of our Antique Mall had hip replacement surgery this past Sunday and found that he had Bone Cancer.. he is almost 80...please keep him in your prayers as well.

Thanks, Moo! PM on the way.

PSA: Mony just updated her pre-trippie :thumbsup2

I just saw the first German these whole Olympics compete even. Swimmer got a Gold! YAY for the Fatherland!

And yes, I root for the USA too, of course!

Women't gymnastics all-around finals are on now!

Fun facts I learned today:
Disney (at WDW) sells 10 million burger, 5 million hot dogs and 3 million Mickey bars a year. And enough french fries to circle the world 3 times!
