Have to make sure PJ sees this if she ever reads back to far. Or the BBN can relay the message.

You're a good man, BH!

And where the heck is DTD?

Thanks, no need to pm me his cell, we aren't that close, LOL. He just hasn't been around here much lately.

Hi gang. I've been working all weekend. And no end in sight.

One of my babies choked today. It turned purple. I went to suction it, and the suction syringe was out of the crib! It is on our flow sheet to make sure it is in the crib with every assessment. The nurse had just assessed this baby, but it was not in there.

Luckily, there was another nurse in the nursery and I had to yell at her to bring me suction. In the meantime this baby was changing from purple to black. You would think the worst thing a nurse could hear is a baby choking. It's not. The worst thing is to NOT hear the baby choke. That means there is absolutely no air exchange. I had the baby on it's side and was doing back thrusts but I couldn't get it to take a breath. I finally got it suctioned, but I had to give it oxygen and then hook up the deep wall suction and clean out its belly. Thank goodness I didn't hear anything in it's lungs when I listened. So I dont think it aspirated anything. *whew* Why did I just share that? I have no clue. I think it is just on my mind and I'm tired. and rambling. surprised????

After that, my day only got worse. I won't bore you with details, but it's never good to start off your day with a purple baby....just sayin.

Hope you guys had a great weekend.

Catch up when I can!

There is way tooo much to read for only being away for 2 1/2 days.

If I missed much please tell me at least which page.

I have way too much laudry to do for just going up north to the cottage.

But at least I finally got out into the sun and have a little tan. Now I have to keep it up for Disney.

Have a great night, catch you all tomorrow.

You are ONE TOTALLY AWESOME BBN!

WOW, BBN, How scary is that????????????

yay for you coming to the rescue! WOW, I'm exhausted just reading that! You shared that because it was scary as heck, and you needed to vent, DUH

Thanks for being a great BBN!

WB, Mony. YAY or a tan! It's currently raining in sunny Florida
Actually, it;s been pretty slow around here, summer duldrums and all, so you can really still catch up.

Yikes BBN. Hats off to you and all medical professionals.

I about lost my lunch and/or fainted the first time I saw the deep suctioning procedure of what you speak.... and Grasshopper wasn't choking, just not eating and breathing heavy and kinda turning blue-ish from lack of oxygen.

I hope tomorrow is a LOT better.

PirateBallerina- Thanks for checking in. Best wishes on your new job. Here is some back-to-school pixie dust. :wizard:

Greetings to the rest of you Happy Campers.

Goog evening, all!

Lex - Glad the party and shopping expedition went well. Boo on the wuckety job #2. Hope they find someone new.

Peej!!! Great to hear from you and sending pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for your first week

Sending hugs, Elisabeth. What a fantabulous bbn you were today :grouphug:

Marita - I can't believe you didn't buy anything this weekend!!!

I took my little sis shopping today and bought her an outfit as a belated birthday gift. We were looking to see if there was a better black top for her to wear for her dad's funeral tomorrow, but no luck. Although, she did find some other cute summer/fall shirts. And I bought one top for myself. Not sure if I'll wear it tomorrow though.

We went out and had a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant after shopping. It was nice to be able to spend a few hours together. And she was glad to be away from all the phone calls for a bit.

Sandy - I remember drinking something with Blue Curacao in it when I was younger. We always called them Tidy Bowls!!! :lmao:

Mony - Glad you're back and that you had a nice weekend away :goodvibes

BH - Your MVMCP sign reminded me that I need to change my December ressie dates a bit!

OK, here's my big news of the day: My daughter called this evening and said that she would like to move home at the end of August. She thinks by then she will have learned all she can working on the farm and would like to minimize her expenses as she continues to look for a job (we all know what that means, LOL). She plans to continue storing her furniture and such for a while in NC as she still would like to look for a job there. She's still going to be doing some grant writing for the farm to get an organic certification (I think so they can sell their goats milk food products off-site), so she'll continue to travel back to NC every few weeks, if needed. But she also said she would help out around the house to help earn her keep. Hubby said maybe she could also find a job locally to earn a bit of money. So it should be some interesting times ahead!

WOW, Moo, both congrats and condolensces on this news, LOL! Wonderful to have the kid home again, but once they turn adult, they get their own ideas about how the house should be run Witness my dishrack in the sink(that she introduced) overflowing with CLEAN dishes, that I seem to be the ONLY person priviledged enough to put away :rotfl:
And her idea of helping with cleaning the house extends no further than the door jam of her room.... :rolleyes1

Yeah, I hear you, Marita. Fortunately, my daughter is actually pretty good about helping clean the living spaces in the house.

The main thing I am concerned about is the hours she will keep and how that will affect my ability to sleep as it has before when she's been home for holidays, etc. It's hard not to worry about where they are and what they're doing when they're out super late, even though they are adults.

And it should be interesting having Cash here, too. Good thing the puppies get along with him!!! I suggested she might want to take him to obedience class. He is pretty well behaved, but I think a class would help calm him down a bit.

I hear you on the being out late bit, Moo! Been there, done that. My DD is going to be home for a while now that her BF is going to to school 2 hours away and she will be going to school locally. Just visits on weekends. We shall see how that goes........ Anyway, I think you (we) just have to quit worrying about them, they are good kids, right? They will be OK:thumbsup2

Although I have to say, DD hasn't been out late at all lately when she was home.Just the guym for a bit, but not late. Maybe it has to do with being settled (somewhat)with her BF?

Oh, and DD does good with doing dishes (see above dishrack remark). Unfortunately, she also generates a lot of dirty ones with baking that she likes to do, and she doesnt put them away!!!!!

Good luck with the puppies. I think a class can't ever hurt.

Just checking in briefly before I hit the hay!

Peej, pixie dust and crossed appendages for a fantastic first day at school! I know you'll do great! It'll be nice that you already know a few of the other teachers. Check in when you can!

BbN, :faint:!!!! You are a woman of fortitude! No way could I handle a job in which a purple baby might be an on-the-job issue! Thank heavens you were fast on your feet! Great job!

Moo, yay and good luck on your DD moving home! Sounds like it'll be nice to have her around for a while.

Heya Twink, Marita, Cel, Hound, Mony, and all other posters, lurkers and hangers-on! I'm off to dreamland........................

Went CAMPING this weekend!

As in, with a tent! Saw a deer and everything.

No pictures though, I'm sure y'all are sad.

Our battery died at the car show we stumbled upon just before camping (while our site was clearing out). I DO have car show pics, if anyone is in to that kind of thing. :cool2:

Hi all...I just got back from Louisville Justin was worn out an sad to see us go it was a long ride home with heavy traffic from the truckers. We went to see Dark Night while Justin took his nap and it was very good action packed movie

GOOD MORNING!

Last full day of training. The lady whom I'm replacing is having her last day today :guilty: She is sooo nice and I will be sorry to see her go and a lil askeered to fly solo.

PJ! Good luck, sweetie! You'll be wonderful, I'm sure! Keep us updated on the moving, etc.

BNCG.....I always hate it when my day starts out with a purple baby! But how could it get worse? Hope all is well now. :flower3:

Twink....Turn away when there's deep suctioning, woman. When is the return trip? Soonish? School's got to be starting soon on the prairie.

Wendy.....Camping with a tent? And four kids? Why? Was it some kind of punishment?

Hound....I hate I-65.

Monica.....Glad you had a wonderful weekend and lots of sunshine. You deserve it.

Moo....I know you'll be glad to have Mari home for a while. But I hear you on the late nights. I can never sleep now that it's summer and Mimi's out late every night.

Marita....Double ditto on the self-righteous big kids who want to clean the house. I say bring on the cleaning, kids. BTW, how many forecasts can one department possibly do? I say Disney would save money by cutting back on all the forecasts! ;)

WT....I saw a guy at the mall this weekend that looked exactly like you...tank top and hat turned around backwards. Were you at Fayette Mall on Saturday?

EVERYBODY HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
