Thanks again....wish me luck. If only Martha-Lynette Stewart were here to help.

Heh! If I leave now, I could be in Melindaland in about 15 hours. Shall I bring my candy molds and we'll make our own oozy gack?

My new washer is not working right and have to have a service guy come out already...:sad2: The water valve is stuck or something and the water doesn't turn off unless I turn the shut off valves off. I knew they had a longer cycle too but it seems to be extra long to me. I will have to ask about that too.

My dishwasher runs forever too, like 80 minutes. But I think it's made that way. My washer too, like 45 minutes for a cold wash.

Marita-- :woohoo: on your son surviving the woods. Sounds like it is going to be a emotional graduation. How proud you must be!

yeah, I'll probably want to bawl, but I promised not to make him cry too, so I will be strong. Heck, I almost cried on the phone today, and talking to knitfreak. It's been a long, hard journey.Just about a year. And this is only the end of basic training, all the technical stuff comes next. But hopefully that will be much easier, at least physically and with fewer restrictions.

I think I might order a new blouse or something for the graduation. Seems fitting, no?

I am watching "The Academy" on TV, a show about basic training for in the Police Academy. Ya think I'm fixated, LOL?
Oh and funny thing, whenever I ask a question that requires a yes or no answer, he now says "Yes, Ma'm". Not shouting it out, just regular tone of voice, "Yes, Maa'm"

Did I mention I am taking next Friday off? I think I did. I need to get nails done (so I can pin the gold bar on properly), clean the house, and go grocery shopping to have his favorite foods in the house. We don't leave till Monday, but who cares about work then? Heaven knows I had enough stress this year over work, and suddenly we have available money, GEEESH.

Moo, I just saw your post about your sisiter's dad, I guess you snuck in on me.

So sorry!

But, he did just discover the joys of Craig's List. He is now taking pictures of nearly everything I own.

Wheat Thins
That is funny. I bet his sister has some neat stuff to list as well. ;)
Thanks for all the great ideas!

I am also sooooo lazy that I am letting the rat provide the cake although it's not included in the price. Anymore. Although it used to be.

Including my lil man I have 6 boys so that covers my deposit.

Thanks again....wish me luck. If only Martha-Lynette Stewart were here to help.

Good luck. I think having rat-provided cake is a goog idea.... one less thing to do and no worries about cake transport. Six boys sounds like a perfect size party.

Martha-Lynette Stewart -please plan to be on the prairie in February. Three of the twinkie children will need birthday extravaganzas. I will leave it up to you if candy molds are needed.

Available money? :faint: I could use some. :wizard: All of ours has been going towards grown up and responsible things like repairing DH's car and home repair. Bah.

All the plans for your son's graduation sound great! I am sure I would be crying like a baby too. Have a great time.

Tomorrow my best friend from 7th grade is coming over..... she is the one who suggested I go to math camp:yay:

Twinkie, are you going to tell her how much fun you got out of going to math camp many years later, LOL?

Have lots of fun!

Oh and I wish the available money was personal, but ALAS, it's not.

Deal! Not only will I bring candy molds, but I will also come equipped with my own karaoke machine and an assortment of fabric pens with which to personalize kid-size t-shirts. The latter serves as a party activity AND a substitute for a bag full o' cheesy tchotckes. Howzat for service??? :cool2:

Sounds great!

DO you also do house decorating? I just happen to be watching Design secrets, or some such show. I need a personal shopper and decorator. :)

Evening, all. I'm out of my funk tonight. I talked with my sister and she doesn't mind if I skip out on the graveside service on Tuesday. Too much work stuff going on :( I'm going to try to take her to dinner tomorrow or drag her shopping or something.

Marita - Sounds like things are really moving along for your son's graduation

Lex - Hope your DS has a fab birthday party!!! I hear you on how hard it is to get people to summer-time parties during primo vacation season. Goody bags didn't come into vogue until my DD was too old for birthday parties  I do remember doling out $10 bills for her friends to go shopping at the mall though. And we went the rat route :lmao:

Nabbie! Hope your new washer is fixable soon. My dishwasher has a super long cycle - 2 hours :sad2:

Wendy - Boo on the ticket woes. We have a motorcycle cop speed trap on the street near my office. I've seen several people nailed recently.

Twink!!! Have fun visiting with your old friend :woohoo:

Thanks, Moo, yes, things seem to moving along nicely with my son.

My dshwasher has a 2 hour cycle too, drives me nuts. DD bought a dish rack, and washes things by hand as she goes. Which is great, except now I have a rack full of clean dishes she never puts away, instead of hiding the dirty dishes in the dishwasher  I am always the one putting the dishes away.

I was just looking at the JC Penny catalog they sent me (unsolicited). I am debating wether to go shoppin this weekend or just order a new blouse from the catalog.

Anyone want to bet?

Sounds great!

Sure, if I get to move furniture, I'm all over it! My DH hates when I move furniture....he says I only do it to make him trip over things. :rolleyes1 As payment, I'll accept large caffeinated beverages and tickets to see the Mouse. Deal?

It's a DEAL!:yay:

Oh, speaking of free tickets:
A couple of days ago I got my free tickets to give away for the summer (measely TWO). But unlike the past 10 or so years, when they where all white with a huge red "NOT FOR RESALE" on the front, they actually had artwork. Made to look lile the early day tickets (you know, the A -E ride tickets). At first I was a bit miffed that I got one E ticket and one B ticket.
But then I realized it was just for the "show factor"

Comfort and Courtney were the girls in the bottom 2....Comfort went home. That's the good news. Somehow, Mark escaped being in the bottom 2! Will and Twitch were the unlucky ones this week. Will ended up going home. Can you believe it? No way should Mark still be there!

GOOD MORNING!

Party time! Gotta get my shower before I start waking up the people. I think we're all set. Really all you need is a credit card and the goody bags to party with the rat. Real birthday isn't til Tuesday so we'll do a family party then.

So since I'm canceling the September trip, I'm going to let Em go on a church trip to Disney in January.

Moo....Sorry to hear about your sister's dad.

Marita.....I would be crying like a little baby at the graduation too. I cry at all meaningful celebrations...I'm just a softie. RE: tickets....you get two one-day tickets to give away? Or to use? I'm confused.

Martha-Lynette....Thanks for the offer, woman. I knew I could count on you!
