Wendy: I just feel like you need this. Hope all is well.

Good morning!

Well, I overslept this morning, so I talked the boss into letting me work from home today :worship:

Mony, good luck with the flooring. I think Cel had a good idea with the rugs, or maybe you could do one are with the block thingies and one with a rug?

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Aren't her creations hilarious!? I stumbled on her thread late one night and couldn't help laughing.

Big hugs to my pals here. I've been here, lurking mostly.

I've stareted a thread on the tech forum asking for a homeschool/school/education forum. The first post is a petition for a homeschool forum, however, I think it goes deeper than that. I am a parent who loves Disney that homeschools. So, if you feel led, please leave a post on the thread. I'd really appreciate it. Here's the link, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=26319298&posted=1#post26319298

Hi, LB, ggod to see you! Stop in more often.

That sounds like a fun idea. MommyP is a Disney loving homeschooler too, I'm sure she would be interested.

GOOD MORNNG!

Checking in from the beach. It's a rainy day in Charleston. Which means shopping and movies instead of beach.

Hope all is well. I'll read back if I can but wanted to post before I lost the pilfered connection.

TAKE CARE! And see you Monday if not before.

:grouphug:

Welllll, maybe because you are NEVER around is why they tend to forget you!!!

But luckily my memory is like a steel trap. Couple that with the fact that you send me 100 pm's a day, I kinda sorta remember who you are.

Marita & those who forgot: This is Cy. I call him Cyman which has nothing to do and everything to do with Simon on American Idol. My dh, kids, and I met him in March 2007 when he came to LooUhVull on business. He's good people.
He is crazy, but as I've always said I like crazy.

Not the whole Simon thing again - we had a truce on that subject (I guess your steel trap memory is a little rusty - here is some WD40 maybe it will help ;) )

BTW I agree with the rest of your comments about me :)

:hippie: Hope you are doing well.

OK, this is really weird.

LB posted about home schooling. So the ad at the bottom of my screen now had links to
1) Accreditted Home school
2) Virtual Home school
3) Something else related that I can' remember and now is no longer there

Lexi, too bad about the rain on the beach. Shopping and movies are good too, I suppose. Not for me, though.

Thanks for airing that dirty laundry ya big freak!! That was long ago when I was but a disbabe.

BTW, I STILL don't have a Simon tag. bwahahahaha!

AND I stand by my original statement. I like his accent and I looooove a smartypants. so there!

AND I believe victory was MINE, cuz I'm a persistent lil bbn.

 T! How the heck are ya?

It's dark outside, the wind is blowing like mad, and it looks like skies are about to open up. Hope hubby makes it home in time!
Well, never mind, the heavens opened up (wide), he won't make it in time.

It's thundering in the distance and getting closer by the minute...

Never mind, a whole post disappeared then then I got an answer.

Apparently the military took a memory stick from DS's mail (which just had pics on it). Sliced the envelpe open and stapled checks to the envelope. At least the checks made it ok.

Marita, glad your DS's checks made it through at least even if the photos didn't

Ick on the snake talk :scared:

Cel, have a nice weekend :goodvibes

Lex, sorry about all the rain  Hope you get some nice beach weather tomorrow pirate:

Mony, I also vote for tile with those locking blockes and area rugs and hope that was your last ever basement flood :goodvibes Are you thinking of the grouted kind of tile or the commercial stuff?

Sandy, can't you petition for your share of the stimulus check for an el cheapo laptop ? You probably don't need much in the way of fancy stuff and gigabytes of whatever.

I am in desperate need of an eyebrow wax, and decided to go for a pedicure tomorrow too. I hear the luxury people are suffering. Except boat repossesion people are doing booming business.

So I figured I might support my local mom and pop salon by getting a pedicure.

I know, the sacrifice..........

I love my carpeted basement.

I called the Township and surprisingly they came out.

They helped us to understand that since we lost power, the sump pump stopped working, which we knew, and they are connected to the drains, and when it overflows the extra water starts to go to the drainage system, and the drains backed up cause it was pouring like crazy.

Make sense?

I really wanted to purchase a generator when we had the last power outage and DH agreed, but he was a little busy getting his kidney removed.

So, if we have a back up, IE the generator, then there shouldn't be a problem if we lose power in a rain storm.

Also, 6 years ago I had to have my basement dug up due to all the pipes being laid wrong and that's all fairly new stuff under there.

Plus we lost a lot of mature trees between us and both neighbors, which means less tree roots getting into my basement and walls.

I think I may be leaning towards the carpet again.

I just don't want tile on top of cold concrete.

sounds like a plan...insurance should help pay since it was drain back up...hopefully

Morning was awoken to the sweet sound of my daughters new vocabulary. Mama! Mama!

The day care will just be "held" on the main floor, we brough up some things and it'll just have to do.

I'd rather close until furthure notice, but that wouldn't be very professional and we can't live without the income.

DH's medical bills are coming in :scared1:

I'm so thankful its Friday.

I have a lot to do this weekend with trying to get the basement in order, this is a good way to really clean things out, organize and thin out. All before garbage night. That's the key.

Plus I have a huge dilema of what to do.

Do I put carpet back down there? Do I do tile?

I have the little kids to think about.

If I do tile, I can find some of those huge sponge interlocking flat blocks that look like flooring for some cushion.

If I do carpet, I set myself up for this again.

I think I'm leaning toward tile.

Any suggestions for flooring over concrete that's used for a daycare?

I missed what the cause of the flooding was?

oops, if I had read farther in, my question would have been answered.

I work for a Flooring and Decorating company, so I was going to give your question some thought.

The first thing I thought was that I needed to know what was causing the flooding in the first place and then go from there.

morning everyone.

We had some wicked Maine storms yesterday. Trees down, power outages, and two people killed closer to Sebago area. This was a horrible storm....ours was pretty windy here but not as severe.........came around three times to make sure we knew it was around.....hubby makes us unplug computers and tv sets even though we have a surge protector.......why take a chance.
Kids were good with the boomers...
Today it is supposed to be hot humid and bad air.......this is MAINE remember....
We are going to a family gathering with no one there we know. We were invited to see some more members of hubbies family four cousins removed......they are into the family geneology as hubby is.......very interesting when you see the graves of ancient family members with the history written on the stone......Hubby takes photos of each gravestone and then puts it on the family tree cd that he is making.

These people today are from the same great great great grandfather but they go to one of the sons tree and hubby is another sons tree......

so see you after we return

Have Fun seaching the ole geneology tree with your cousins....Sounds like there should be some Lobster and Beer envoled in the mix too me..but thats just me...lol

Good Morning everyone...another HOT And Humid Day rain changes Monday and Tues....we could use some probably....just no more floods.
