15 years ago today I proudly welcomed my sweet "little" 9 lb 15 oz baby girl into the world and I have never been the same. She is such a great kid, with a big heart and a winning smile. She is always willing to help someone in need, and is full of compassion. She's also got a stubborn streak, but hey she had to get SOME of her daddy's genes. ;) I cannot wait until she gets older and has children of her own, and I can kinda sorta let go of being her mom and become more of her friend. We get along so well now (probably cuz I like to act 15....heh), I just cant wait to see what the future holds for us.

Happy Birthday to your daughter. She sounds like a wonderful girl. I'm glad you have such a good relationship with her despite the pressures of "teenagerdom." Many times things get a bit shaky during those years but having a strong relationship to start with is a huge help. Best wishes to you and your family. :goodvibes

Working on DVC budgets at work (due Friday)

Paragraph deleted in the interest of my continued employent.........

Meantime, DD sent an email yesterday that they are in Salzburg, Austria now, and going for 2 days to Vienna, then back to Salzburg (BF's sister is singing in some concert), and then onto Italy.
Oh, to be young again!

I'm sending you some pixie dust to help with the budget work. pixiedust:

Your DD must be having a great time. I toured Austria about twenty years ago and those are memories that will stay with me forever. Nothing like listening to Strauss waltzes in a concert hall in Vienna. :)

AND, I saw my hubby's cousin's (unmarried, I think, Kay) daughter with her 3 month old baby boy while out grocery shopping last night. His name is Kaeden.

That's a nice, unique name. I have never heard it. For you and the others who have followed the saga of Lowell's 19 year old pregnant/unmarried daughter, we still haven't met the father. We were hoping to all get together around Father's Day (appropriate) but DD seemed uncertain of his work schedule and unsure when we could get together. I suspect she is not anxious for this meeting and is stalling. We bought her a nice crib and a book about what to expect throughout the baby's first year. Lowell said he wished he and the Ex had had a book like that with their babies.

While our initial reaction was that of most parents when their kids get into situations that might have been avoided if they had been more responsible/prudent etc: you give them a kind but firm lecture: there was never any doubt that we would be loving and supportive of her and the baby. I can't say the same of Lowell's parents. We finally broke the news to them on Father's Day and it went about as badly as we expected. DMIL refuses to go to the baby shower or send a gift as they believe it is "rewarding bad behavior." Lowell and I (mostly me as I am much more out-spoken, lol) tried to impress upon them that loving her unconditionally was not "rewarding bad behavior," it's just what families do. Familes stick together through thick and thin. Of Lowell's three kids, only his son likes their grandparents now, so banning the shower and not sending a gift etc. will further sever what little relationship his two daughters currently have with Lowell's folks. :(

It's amazing how stubborn people can be who supposedly love one another.

Happy Giving Birth Day, BabyN!

WT - You can add my bad baby handling skills to my other bad parenting skills, like forcing my children to clean the house and do laundry. Thanks for your input on my pictures. It always makes me laugh, which I always need. Especially the sugar donut. LOL! :rotfl2:

Twinkie - What a difference those few weeks between Gabe and Isaac make! Gabe looks like such a big boy! I got a picture of Isaac sitting up alone this morning. Just today he has started doing it much more. Is Gabe crawling? He looks so much like Goldenchild in that picture! What a great picture. I have one kinda like that of Ethan when he was little. He was all sprawled out on the ottoman.

Kay - Goog to see you!

I came over to my Mom's to sun and swim, but it's already dark as night out and fixing to storm. Hopefully it passes quick.

SnarkbRitches: so meeting you is a selling point?:rolleyes1

Hey! You KNOW it's a selling point, smartypants!

Twinkie- ADORABLE!

BbN- Heyyy! Happy birth-giving day! Make sure your princess knows alllllll about what you went through bringing forth that huge baby from your loins. Wow! Double wardrobe, eh?

Kay! I loved that book back in the day, "What to Expect when You're Expecting" (I'm guessing that's the one?). Very nice of you to provide a crib for the baby! LOVELY to have the family drama take another chapter with the outlaws. It IS what families do!

Donnisha....Since when is it rude to share someone's joy about having a baby? People are strange. (TM The Doors)

Celery? I've never heard of that reality show. Should I count my blessings?
I bet Donnisha has no clue who the Doors are. :rotfl:

Be VERY glad your husband is not into that show.

Happy giving birth day! I totally spaced on the fact that she's now 15. Geez! I need some of the fountain of youth they've got up there at sunnybrook!

Hi to everyone else!
super busy!
:yay: Yay!

Still raining.

I forgot to mention that my Grandpa had a major stroke last week. He's home now(he's lived with my parents for the last 13 years, but has never actually been a part of the family.) and hopefully he dies soon because it's a lot for my parents to take care of him. He also has a mass in his lungs, which they aren't going to check into since he's so close to the end anyway. But the stroke did a strange thing to him. He used to be the ugliest, crankiest lifeless person. Now he smiles and jokes. We are hoping that all our years of prayers have been answered and his personality change is due to a conversion experience.

Isaac is sleeping the day away since it's dark out and he's in a room with dark curtains. I guess I'll have to wake him up soon.

Yes he was great and the 4year old little girl was too...she knew all the words.

We do have BBBQ Chicken Pizza here for sure ...I love it.

Kay-- glad you and Lowell are going to be part of the baby's life.

When my dad died and we read his will we couldn't believe what he had in it. He said the if any of his children were not married and were living with someone and had children they would get nothing.... We never knew that is how he felt.Mind you we were brought up Catholic and you are not suppose to do this. Not sure when he wrote it either, maybe it was before any of us were grown up:confused3 My brother married his second wife a week before my niece was born maybe he knew something we didn't.:lmao:

Mommyp-- stokes affect the brain so maybe that is why he is a changed person. For the better it sounds. Hope you can enjoy the rest of his life with him now.

BH-- just caught the last hour of the show because I wanted Hell's Kitchen. First nothing is on to watch and then they end up over lapping my shows.

Babynurse-- Happy Birthing day to you. Hope your dd has a great Birthday!!!

Donnisha....Since when is it rude to share someone's joy about having a baby? People are strange. (TM The Doors)
I think the issue was that the mother of the little girl thought the waitress was just fat. People are definitely strange, though...I concur. And hey, CEL, I DO SO KNOW WHO THE DOORS ARE!!!!!!!!! :snooty: HA freaking RUMPH!

PJ: Great now I'm going to have to work in a trip to Victoria's Secret on top of everything else I have to do
Really, what would you do without me??

This is for my bff Julia who is the best bed giver upper, feeder of chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, co-Gerard Butler swooner, pirate loving 15 year old I've ever met!! Make sure to show it to her. Promise? K.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIA!!!!

You, my friend, are a freaking genius. Seriously, I applaud you.

That reminds me of 2 Halloweens ago when Chipotle was giving away free burritos if you dressed like a burrito. Let's just say it takes a lot of aluminum foil to cover 3 people....

Hugs and prayers for the whole situation.

I have to go into work a little early today because I'm the greeter. Be nice to me and I'll let you in the restaurant. Give me a hard time...BUH BYE. Hee hee hee.

Later.
:grouphug:

BH-- just caught the last hour of the show because I wanted Hell's Kitchen. First nothing is on to watch and then they end up over lapping my shows.

I was looking for "So you think you can Dance"and settled on AGT ...I really liked it last year (The yoddler girl) this year the Opera Singer(but Ive never been into opera) cause he loves his momma.

It got down into the 40's last night.

It was so cold here today it was a warm jacket needing day.

Still I have kids show up here in shorts, t-shirts no socks and sandals.

They were asking me for gloves outside.

I made sure they all had a nice warm coat on.

My SIL buried her father 2 weekends ago, and I just got a call that they gave her mother her last rites. No one told me she was in the hospital! On Friday she must of had a heart attack and fell and has been there ever since.

DH's brother called to let me know what was going on and he says their dad is not handling all this stress very well. My FIL was close with his DIL's father. He's all worked up over my DH surgery.

11 years ago, when Tim lost his mom (my dad passed away 3 days prior) his dad lost his brother and best friend to cancer all within a few months, and wound up being rushed to the hospital for chest pain and had to undergo open heart/triple bypass. The man does not handle stress very good.

I think I'm gonna stop posting, I feel like a Debbie Downer.

Loved the pictures and I am a firm believer in swaddling and cuddling kids to sleep. How else do you train 10 kids to take a nap all at the same time? Just the little ones need help. The older ones, just follow along.

Last night at Mal's in-studio rehearsal we actually got to watch the kids perform. I was so amazed. They were so adorable and they all knew what they were doing. Let's just hope that they don't chicken out in front of an audience.

Lil G: I agree with Melinda about pinball machines.

BH-- That is were I came in when the Can Can girls were on and when they let them though I thought that is the best they have had so far I haven't missed much. I was also trying to get my son to go to bed and not watch because he stayed up to watch the other show with me....:lmao:

Happy Birthday Rodeo Princess! Happy Giving Birth Day Cowgirl!

Maybe you should take a Girls Trip to WDW to celebrate.... but cause nothing says you are 15 like a trip to a theme park to meet your mother's imaginary friends/internet stalkers. ;)

Forl real though..
1. My first tip from above is totally for real.
2. So is my second.
3. And the umbrella tip too.
4. Get one of those big yellow net beach toy bags and make one of the Twinkietwins carry it. The other can carry any other childrens crap.
4. Less is more.
5. I said 4. twice
6. One floaty, even for the good swimmers, makes life much more enjoyable. Especially in the Atlantic surf, over here in the gulf it's like a swimming pool.
7. A small radio with the Poly background music really sets the mood.
8. If someone returns your child before you realize they are lost, it doesn't count. ;)
9. I'm jealous.

This just had to be repeated. It is still making me laugh.

Kay- do you have any favorite websites to reading hotel/timeshare reviews? I have already booked my trip but I would like to be more informed- especially if we decide to do this again next year. Timeshare places may be our best bet due to our family size.

Everyone- Hi! and thanks for the nice things you said about my darling children.

Goldenchild has always been the type of kid who just passes out. We have a whole collection of pictures of him starting with the face down in the high chair, asleep curled up in the corner during a "time out" and the infamous I will just lean over the kitchen table chair and fall asleep while asking for a snack.

Gabe is crawling. Sort of. Not true crawling but he pushes up on all fours and goes forward a scoot and then goes back to army crawling. He can cover a lot of ground and I have had the experience of leaving him in a room and coming back and he isn't there. He was slow to sit up compared to other Twinkie children but has it down pat now. He usually is sucking his finger so that slows down his exploration. I know he looks "old" but he isn't so big- just 15 lbs. The strangest thing is by this age Goldenchild could walk so Gabe seems like more of a 'baby.'

Hugs for all the situations out there.

Donnisha- Have fun controlling access to the Happiest Meal on Earth. Yes, the mom was rude, but I was raised that if you came across a woman GIVING BIRTH in the hallway you didn't acknowledge her pregnancy until she announced it.

Monica- Be sure to post recital pictures! I wish I had the skittles to make even 3 or 4 kids nap at once. Hats off to you woman!

Lalijack- Last night the DH said "I bet all the people in Boston are happy right now" I agreed because I knew you were trip planning. I think he was talking about the Celtics though.

Why do babies prefer to crawl on hardwoods or tile???? He keeps leaving the carpeted rooms???

Twinkie - You just gave me a good idea. I am going to keep Isaac in the Kitchen instead of the living room. He keeps puking on my new carpet.

Kay- do you have any favorite websites to reading hotel/timeshare reviews? I have already booked my trip but I would like to be more informed- especially if we decide to do this again next year. Timeshare places may be our best bet due to our family size.

Tripadvisor.com has the most reviews of both hotels and timeshares. I also like hotels.about.com. There are many others. As for strictly timeshares, the best site is tug2.net but you have to be a member ($15/yr) to access the reviews. timeshareforums.com also has reviews and anyone can access them, free, but they do not have as many reviews.
