I also love it when a parent puts their child in a pull up out of the blue and doesn't say anything. I guess the pull up is supposed to do the training? How am I to help this kid be successful when I don't know about it. Now, he peed in it all morning, and whats the lesson?

And love the philosophy: Lets buy our 3 year old size 6 cause the fives are getting small.

Here's a clue, start putting him on the potty.

Unless the parents are doing it, I won't. But if the child wants to, I will go with that and then encourage it at home. So many times I have kids perfectly trained here and at home nothing. I've even had them in underware here and the first thing a parent would do before leaving is put them in a pull up. Makes me crazy.

I had a 2 1/2 year old put his finger at Tim today, with the chicken neck and respond to him with: "NO! You don't talk to me!" After Tim was encouraging him to eat his snack.

Sorry, crazy day. Just crazy.

They scheduled Tim's surgery for June 23. She wanted to schedule it the 16th, but Tim's regular Dr. wouldn't see him before the 19th to clear him for surgery. The MIT people even called his regular dr. and they wouldn't budge. It's just frustrating. You can call when you are sick and be seen 10 minutes later, but you need surgery ASAP and nope, gotta wait.

I have a family here that's related to some of the family I've grown apart from. The mom tells me today that one of my cousins wife was telling people that Tim had Stage Three Cancer.

1. It's a tumor that most likely is cancer, but there's still a chance it's not.
2. And if he did? Why haven't you called to express ANYTHING?

We didn't tell anyone he had any stage of anything. We've read about staging and grading, but that's about it.

I have a mind to call and say a few things, but I don't want to make things hard for my mom. It's her family.

Ok, rant over. I want a glass of wine so badly, but not on Phase 1 of SB!

I'll join in with that drink!

DD is leaving tomorrow for her month long trip to Europe, Of course evreything I say is met by some
sarcarstic remark :(

I might trade a toddler in diapers for a 23 yr old!

No set itinerany, her BF's mom is playing it by ear. So if DD goes missing, I got nothing! She was somewhere between Germany and Italy :scared1:

House is mostly cleaned in case potential future in-laws, (who are picking her up tomorrow) need a restroom break on the way.

MOO HOO, I have my Internet and phone back at home!!!!!!!!! (The cable TV quality is crappy now, but I really don't care.) I was finally able to access Facebook!

Thanks for the entertainment today, bbn and Peej (I peeked while at work :rolleyes1)

Pumba, so glad your eye is doing great!!!

Lex - Glad your friends are doing OK

Mony -   I'm having a glass of wine tonight to commiserate    Dang extended family and medical system! Sending prayers and positive thoughts!

Marita, sorry your daughter is being a brat  I will tell you about how my friend's mom treated her this past week.

This is my friend whose daughter just gradjiated that I did all that scrapbooking for. My friend's mom flew in from Florida, even though she thought my friend shouldn't have had an open house for her daughter in the first place. Prior to the open house, when it was near 90 and humid, she wouldn't let my friend turn on her AC while she was cleaning and doing other prep work. In her own home!

The day of the open house, when it was in the 80s I arrived and was kind of appalled to see all the food sitting out without any way to keep it chilled. I'm talking lots of stuff made with mayo and a huge bowl of SHRIMP! Salmonella city - ACK!!! So I asked my friend why none of was on ice and she said her mom wouldn't let her put anything on ice, even though she had bowls and platters and several bags of ice to do so. So I said that I would do it and proceeded to do so. Her mom came up and said to me, "You're not touching my shrimp!!!!!!!!!" So I told her I was just putting some ice under it so noone would get food poisoning. She went off in a huff and we ended up putting several things on ice. Even so, many things got warm, melty, and soggy and had to be pitched at the end of the party.

Fast forward to Monday. The open house was on Saturday. My friend told me that her mom basically stopped talking to her and holed up in her room or just completely ignored her. So she went ahead and turned on her AC because she couldn't take the heat any longer. So her mom comes out wearing two layers of clothes and continues stomping around and not speaking to her while my friend continued to try to be pleasant to her mom. Her mom's flight was scheduled for Wednesday morning.

My friend called me at work Tuesday night and told me that when she got home from work, her mom had left her a note saying she had gone back to Florida :scared1: UNBELIEVABLE! She had put her suitcase in the car when my friend's daughter was in the shower, then suggested that they go to a movie. After that, she told her granddaughter to take her to the airport and that was that. Now, my friend's daughter was at her dad's Tuesday night, so she wasn't home to let my friend know what had happened until late that night, so it took a while before she found out what had transpired.

So, Marita, it's not just kids who can be rude to their parents. As far as my friend can figure out, this was all due to running the AC and icing down some food to keep guests from getting sick against her mom's wishes :confused3

People sure can get a bug up their butts for the weirdest things ::yes:: She still hasn't heard a word from her mom, but she's going to mail her a thank you note anyway for helping her out. She's kind of waiting to hear from her brother, figuring her mom will vent to him eventually.

Sheesh! I thank my lucky stars that my mother was never like that :goodvibes

GOOOOOOD MORNING! TGIF!!!

Last day of VBS today. It's an island theme and they play this song EVERY DAY! Who remembers?

Here's a gross little story from yesterdee....not to be confused with yesterpage. I had the first graders do an activity that involved tracing. I took up the patterns after they finished and proceeded to pray for the missionaries we learned about. During the prayer, I moved my hand and felt something wet/slimy. I lost my thoughts and hesitated for a minute but managed to finish the prayer. When they got up to leave, I looked down and sure enough....a big green booger wiped across the back of the pattern. You're welcome.

In other news....My DSIL who is going on the September trip with me had an interview for a new teaching job yesterday. She asked me how far in advance we'd need to cancel if she got the job. :worried:

My dear friend called yesterday afternoon and said "I'm alone in my house!" I said "I'll be right over!" So good to finally get to talk with her alone after the crowds that have been over there for weeks. Emily even came over and painted our toenails for us! :) It was nice.

Moo
....It's so sad to me when we grow up and realize how immature our parents really are. Your friend's mom sounds like she's 14 instead of 70ish.

Monica....I hear ya on the pull ups. My kids all went to preschool pretty young and they were forced to wear underwear. They learn pretty quickly if there's no other option. What's with that doctor? I'll bet if he was having surgery, he'd want to be seen right away? I'd call every 10 minutes all day to see if there's an opening or cancellation. ;)

Bloodhound....Could you make mine a strawberry swirl from the Enchanted Grove?

BNCG & PJ.....Itchy & Scratchy?! Heh, heh.

Marita
....Europe with no itinerary? Are they just gonna wing it? No hotel reservations? That's kinda scary!

Wendee
....Whatcha been up to? Are you busy trying to sell your house while taking care of lotsa rugrats or sumpn?

Sandy, WT, Twinkie, NAB, et al
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY TODAY! BRING ON THE WEEKEND!

VBS VERSE OF THE DAY:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. --Luke 10:27

Now let's see if the bbn kills me for posting a picture of her. Then it really will be like Itchy and Scratchy!

No, I love it when you post squinty eyed, looks like I havent slept in weeks pictures of me for the entire world to see. At least the Michael Buble shirt is cute.

p.s Consider youself killed. with a plastic knife even.

No posts since 1:54 DIS time. :worried:
This is why I need two cliques.

or a job that doesnt allow you as much free time. Maybe you should become a parking lot attendant, apparently they are very busy.

Do BBN and GB have their arms around each other in that picture? Again?

Wheat Thins

Very good Joe Hardy. You have uncovered a great dis mystery. Kudos. @@!!!

fine. it was real and it was spectacular.

i'm kinda scared to go to WDW with you again, b/c somehow mischief always finds us or vice versa.

besides you are a loserfreak.
I seldom mis a Seinfeld reference. Especially one from 2 different episodes.

hello everyone........Today at 7am went to the doctors for a recheck for my eye surgery.......I am almost 20/20 in that eye.......can you believe that.....I am so thrilled .....I am still doing three types of drops in my eye four times a day and one more recheck next thursday for this eye and then start the preop for the left eye....I could not imagine not having to wear glasses at all.....will find out after the next surgery......it is brighter here ..the last eye is the eye that is not bad for vision.....they did my worse one first.......
I have not read back but will maybe in a few days when I need a new book to read....hahaha.
have a great day my friends
I'm up early trying to read this without my contacts or glases. I'm sooo jealous. I have to keep mooving back and forth to get the distance just right to be able to read.

Hi, I am the same way with American Idol, Dancing With The Stars and SYTYCD show...I love them all:hyper:
We can obviously no longer be friends.:(

Here's an old fraternity drinkin cheer.... Here's to you and here's to me and may we never disagree But if we do #$%$^ YOU...here's to me....:lmao:
HEY!! You could give credit where credit is due.(Brooksie helped)

I'm at my sister's bumming around. I went to the ice cream show with my niece and Glancy yesterday. As we pull in a daycare from the nearby projects is walking up. The Fannie something ones cel. All 3 and 4 yos. The teachers must be drill szrgeants cause these kids toed the line. Happy sweet kids all eating their own ice cream. All I could think of was that Kate of J&K+8 would have simply died. They all hugged Glancy till he was overwhelmed, then 5 minutes later he wanted more. He's 7 months today. Weighs in at 17+ pounds.
I still haven't paid more than $3.85.9 for gas. And I've had to fill up twice since Saturday. And I don't drive out of my way to find cheaper gas.
i think I'll go back to bed. Sees y'all.

I love the albuquerque airport! Free wireless! woo!

I fly out in a little over an hour then arrive in Nashville around 1ish. By the time I get my baggage and car and drive to breadman's, it'll be around 3 I think.
Then I get to spend a few hours with him until he goes to bed. :cloud9:
Then I have to drive home, grab Riley and sleep for one million hours!
I did not sleep well last night.
I drank an energy drink too late in the day then I had noisy neighbors off and on until 3 am.
I thought about putting ear plugs in, but I was scared I would sleep through my 5:25 alarm. :(
I hate sleeping on a plane where people are next to me. Hopefully the flight isn't full.

One of my cliques hasn't had a post in like a week. It's a dead zone over there.
I think my third clique is dead too. It was the offensive one. Just a bunch of people posting about how everyone else is mean and offends them. It was fun. Babycow even posted there some.

I have a mind to call and say a few things, but I don't want to make things hard for my mom. It's her family.
Just rant to us. People like that will never learn and it's not worth your time.

DD is leaving tomorrow for her month long trip to Europe, Of course evreything I say is met by some
sarcarstic remark :(
I'll be your pretend daughter, marita.
Of course I'm NEVER sarcastic to my own mom.
I never make her cry or ANYTHING! :rolleyes1
Actually, I think it's been awhile since I've made her cry.
I'll have to remedy that. :rotfl:

As far as my friend can figure out, this was all due to running the AC and icing down some food to keep guests from getting sick against her mom's wishes :confused3
You guys should have left some of the shrimp NOT on ice and made her eat only that. :rotfl:

I looked down and sure enough....a big green booger wiped across the back of the pattern. You're welcome.
Ewww! I think I need to go scrub just from reading that!!!
or a job that doesnt allow you as much free time. Maybe you should become a parking lot attendant, apparently they are very busy.
I've got three pretty big projects going right now. :yay: It should keep me busy through July. I think.
Plus I get to travel lots.
I'm going to Clarksville on Monday.
Too bad the last train already left. :rotfl:
Then I'm going to Knoxville the week after that (mom! can you watch Riley?)
Then I'm in town for a week.
then I'm spending the week after the 4th at the Breadman's house.
then I'm going to Albuquerque the week of the 14th of July (mom! Can you watch Riley?)
No boredom for me! Woo hoo!
And I actually get to be useful! What a novel idea!

The Fannie something ones cel. All 3 and 4 yos. The teachers must be drill szrgeants cause these kids toed the line. Happy sweet kids all eating their own ice cream.
Fanny Battle maybe? I'm sure my mom knows. I remember her mentioning them from conferences back in the day.

My flight is delayed. Grrr.
Don't they know I have a breadman to go see?

Oh yeah -
I'll be stopping in the prairie for a moment around noonish, so be sure to wave, prairie people!!!!

I'm super broke so I'm trying to be good. Alcohol is not a temptation since I don't drink anymore.
But everyone has cofee cups in their hands. :(
at least there's not a starbucks here.

I'm going to break down and buy a scone at provence in the nashville airport if they put me at a gate near there.
no backtracking for that scone.
well, one gate isn't backtracking, right?
it really was the best scone I've ever had. :cloud9:
MUCH better than the ones at the tea room at the grand floridian.
and I need a venti non fat chai tea misto from starbucks to go with it.
::yes::
5 bucks won't make or break me, right?
:worried:

I have been back in the basement the last few days trying to straighten up the mess I made down there for the yard sale.

Plus my BIL , who is coming to some of the basement wants to be able to move down there.....go figure :lmao:

Marita-- I hope your dd will let you know where she is while on the road... How exciting for her and sad for you I know.

Moo-- That is one weird mom. I am glad I am blessed with a great mom and MIL.

Lexi--ewww. Will you still go in Sept. without her?

Celery-- hope you get to Breadman soon, good for you staying away for the booze!!! Step away from the scone too!

Mony -- I have a someone in the family that does that too. Puts someone on there death bed when they are not. Or make everything sound worse then it is :sad2:

Pumba-- glad you can read without your glasses!!

Well better get back down stairs before the kids come home and want to help, meaning they will take more stuff out of boxes then get rid of it......
