There are NO Barbies in the RobInBigKC household though (and only a couple of GI Joe's).

-- Rob

UTA did you look under that RobInBigKC's bed? I bet there are a couple of Barbies stashed there.

Ugh! I'll gladly show my age (40) We played with Malibu Barbie, Skipper, Ken, and the older sister "PJ" (no kidding Peej!)

Ditto. My BFF and I were the reigning queens of all things Barbie. *sigh* Oh, how I adored those dolls!

Speaking of my BFF, I got a call from her over the weekend. Her BIL, a seemingly healthy, very active 50 year old went to the hospital for a minor hernia surgery, and discovered through a series of post-op complications that he had cancer. His organs shut down almost immediately, then he slipped into a coma, and his wife (BFF's older sis) had to make the awful decision to take him off life support. He died Saturday afternoon, just 11 days after the operation, and 8 days after the diagnosis. They had no children, so BFF's sis is alone and terrified now. If there are any spare prayers lying around, the family could sure use them.

Such a sudden, random and shocking death. I saw him at BFF's 40th b-day party in March, and there was NO indication that he had the slightest thing wrong with him. It's just so incomprehensible.

Give me a baseball glove, a football, or a basketball anyday. Gosh you guys act like such GIRLS!;)

I am really sorry to hear that about your friends. I'll keep the family in my prayers. I know how shocking it is to lose someone of a young age. Sometimes life aint fair.

Haha! YOU are a funny one! :)

Lynette - that is so sad - offering prayers...

Pumba - Good for you!! even tho its a scary thing, you did it!! (and posting here is sure to offer courage to others that may be in the same predicament!!) Adding prayers and peace for you!!

Thanks BBN and Sandy.

Pumba, I know I'd be soooo nervous too! I'm a major chicken! But think of the benefits you're gaining by having this done. (And think of all the pixie dust you'll be receiving from us...)

and speaking of BFF's, I REALLY cant believe that one of mine is getting married this weekend. It almost seems surreal that we are down to the last few days.

Dont you guys thinks she's going to be a beautiful bride? Seriously. I think she is lovely. And she is ALMOST as nice as me.;)

Are you in the wedding, BBN? Where is the reception going to be held? How long have you known the bride? Don't be vague with US! Give us the 411!

I sure DO think she'll be a lovely bride. I love weddings!

DH is taking himself to urgent care.

He urinated and it was bright red.

30 minutes later he's in terrible pain, right side toward his back. He's all sweaty and I did not like his color.

ACK!

SIT STILL, this lip gloss won't hurt a BIT! puckerup:

I had balls  too but they were hardly used at all.

Maybe for a rousing game of dodgeball or 4-square? I don't remember. I was too busy hosting Barbie fashion shows or dinner parties.

One of my favorite toys was a big Barbie head on which I could put mint green eyeshadow or cotton-candy pink waxy lipstick or style her flaxen blonde-wire-infused hair with play curlers.

I'm sure my big Barbie head ended up with a Dorothy Hamill haircut thanks to me. Which was the fate of all my Barbies. :rolleyes1

Anyone have a Baby Krissy doll whose hair could be pulled out of her skull? Good times.

Malibu Barbie had overplucked eyebrows IMHO:

Wow, that's terrible. Praying for him now!!!! It sounds like the symptoms are pronounced enough that the medical staff should be able to make a quick diagnosis.

Thanks BBN and Sandy.

Extra pixie dust to Pumba as needed!

Ha. Ya know at the bacherolette party they were passing around lip gloss and applying to each other as we were walking around. I allowed this to happen. I can be a girl. In fact, there was LOTS of girl talk and giggling and laughing. and hair brushing and other stuff I cant mention.

BigL: I'm the matron of honor. duh! Doesnt matron sound old?!?! :) Ack!!

Mony-- Hope your DH isn't to much pain and they can fix him right up.

Pumba-- everyone I talk to that has this done wish they would have done it sooner because they can see so much better. We are here for you and send lots of prayers your way.

Lynette-- that is very sad about your friends. Prayers send for that family as well.

UMA-- Looks like you were having a ball. I am like Sandy my kids can't have any fun....:lmao:

Babynurse-- will you be wearing a dress you can wear again...:rotfl2: What colour is it, will you have your hair up? Since I have all this praying to do I will throw in a prayer for beautiful , just right weather for the weekend.

I'm just trying to keep my mind busy. Cause I'll have him with some crazy non fixable disease if I don't.

Field trip was a blast. I had good kids. :woohoo:

The village was cute. It had a police station(jail) , Fire station ( with coats, boots, helmets to try), train station with a rail road crossing, school, park, DQ, car place, coffee place, bank, church, legion, bus shelters, one traffic light corner, one four way stop, and alot of other places.

I would not make a great traffic cop. That was my first job of the day. I backed them up really bad. Then the police woman said I have to tell them which way to go so the corners don't get block. I was letting them go the direction they wanted to. Then a few time some didn't stop and I had to get out of the way.

After that job I got to lead 7 kids around and do a scavenger hunt and then a detective game. I had some smart kids we found the spot easy. I locked the boys in the jail while visiting there. They thought it was cool until I said I was going for lunch see ya.

We had a blast and the kids must have liked me because everyone wanted to sit with me on the way back to school.
