LexMelinda ...where in Kentucky are you?

A bunch (12) of my Louisville friends went to Ky Derby wearing matching custom yellow T-Shirt's our host had printed . We sat close to the live band and near the Mint Juluip Stand....lol But A sad note... It was awuful that poor horse had to be put down.

I'm in Lexington. But I'm from Franklin originally.

I've been to the Derby several times but not in 20+ years. Last time I was in the infield you could still sneak hooch in if you dressed it up like a gallon of lemonade. I don't even think they let you take coolers in anymore. Do they?

And I agree...so sad about Eight Bells. I got an email recently about a horse with a prosthetic leg. Looks like they would've taken such measures with her. Since she ran in the Derby she'd be a very high priced brood mare. Think of what the foals would go for.

Tell your daughter that's what Miss Clairol is for! ;)

Morning!

Boy am I spoiled with having a new laptop. This old one of Tim's seems so decrepit.

I believe I will be needing some back up today over on the Change Thread.

It's Friday and I'm in a goog mood.

Hope its catchy!

Was that from personal experience that you know this?

Ga-hoood morning!

Sliced my hand open yesterdee with a knife in the soapy water sink. Yes, it's fine. No I don't need stitches.

Grrr, DH is throwing off my groove! I can hear him putting away dishes and now I'm feeling lazy. See? My groove.I think he has to work at noon today. ARRRRGH!

Monica- you are spoiled! An upgrade too!

Melindah- Oh how cute your babies were (5 mins ago)! How funny that they look so different.

Sandee- I didn't watch ER. :snooty: And I'm lost on LOST. I need Cliff's Notes there (Lynt)

UMA :cool1: WOOHOOTY on page 100!

Bloodhound WELCOME...and awww on the new baby - too sweet, love those new baby memories....

ouchy! I sliced my finger, decided I'd rather spend the one night in a hotel with fdil before the race than go to ER and get stitches - either way, use lots of neosporin!! (did you pour hyrdogen perixide on it???!! :scared1: I did, almost passed out!)

Lexi :rotfl2: :rotfl2: on Derby infield memories, sounds like the Indy 500 infield - here you do the trials! (not that I remember... :rolleyes1 )

Mony I feel your laptop pain! Ha I just remembered, I could be on dh's laptop!! :rotfl2:

we overslept this morning (dh got in at 5am... ds may be breaking up with his gf, he went to her Univ last night to see... :confused3 we called at 11:30 to see if we needed to come get him.. he said no... )

luckily its just a half day and since its "M" day - movie day - I say oh well! Why rush it, as long as she is doing good in school, and not getting in trouble - its a sleep in, read in day!! :cool1: we're listening to Josh Grobin on GMA, in our PJ's with books in hand, dd is reading several books, the Princess Diary books by Meg Cabot - hard to figure out the order tho!! (8 - 10 books!)

Melinda ITA about the school talent program! but I forgot to say... awwwww.... how dare they grow up so fast?

I'll see if I can find ds graduation pic...

Good Morning :sunny: (TM Lexmelinda, used by permission)

Utah darling: Glad you are ok. Knives in soapy water?!? :scared: You should know better. At least your DH is doing work not causing work. Mine dropped a glass plate into the dishwasher. The plate was no big dot deal but I have recently decided to get my act together in preparation for summer so there was a whole dish drainer full of freshly washed dishes that now need to be rewashed. We have been on a glass breaking spree here lately. It is such a pain to clean up.

Sandy- Good to see you! I love the graduation pictures. How are wedding plans? Disney plans?

Bloodhound- Congrats on the new grandbaby! My parents tell me that grandchildren are 100x better than children.

Melinda- Yes- I love flip flop season and the resulting decrease in sock matching. However between daily sessions at the gym (the girls) and ball games (Goldenchld is working on his slide) the laundry seems worse. Maybe it is all the stain treating (grass, popsicles, blood).:confused3 And my DH generates more laundry in the summer. See, he is a big believer in "clerty" clothes. Clothes too dirty to fold and put away but clean enough to wear again (they are piled on the floor). His afterwork ensemble will last all week in the winter because it is clerty. In the summer he goes outside after work so the duds only last a day or two. But the laundry I can handle. I have a teenager. Life is better when he is busy with sports and school. His summer sport is annoying his sisters.

MelindaII- Your girls are beautiful!!! Then and now!

Mony-:rotfl: too funny over there.

And I'm lost on LOST. I need Cliff's Notes there (Lynt)

Okay, key plot points/hidden stuff:

After Hurley's parents surprised him with a party (with a wildly inappropriate and thoughtless "island" theme :sad2: ), Dad revealed that he had restored the car he and Hurley had been working on. Hugo gets into driver's seat, and the odometer reads "481516". The trip meter reads "2342". Hurley flips out and runs out of the car.

I assume you got the segment with Claire's mom revealing that Claire's dad was Jack's dad, as well as the part where Sun told her evil dad that she now has a controlling interest in his company, thanks to her Oceanic settlement.

Once on the Widmore boat, Jin and Sun (who now has baby Aaron) saw Michael and then discovered a control room full of C4 explosives. NOW we now what that creepy looking remote device is that's strapped to Keamy's arm - the remote detonator! :scared1:

From the previews of next week's show, it looks like maybe Sawyer and Jin are on the rescue helicopter initially. Then we see a clip of the pilot shouting about having too much weight onboard and not enough fuel. My guess is that Jin and Sawyer jump out of the copter so that the rest of the Oceanic 6 will be saved. Just a thought.

That's all I got. :confused3

FIRST of All:

Page 100 Wooo Hoooty!

I wasn't even trying :rolleyes1

Sandy- Gads he's CUTE! You must be proud of your boy-man!

Monica- FUNNY PM, thanks! Ny Quil is my drink of choice.

Lynt! OHHHH MYYYY GAAAAWSH! Thanks! WOW! popcorn::

Twinkie- I know! Knives are not allowed to go into soapy water for that very reason! Guess who did it? ME!

Sandy...Your son is so cute with diploma in hand!

Wendee....I hate knives in the dish water. And a salt rub? :lmao:

Twink....One of my little college students brought up a chat box today on Facebook to say "who's Twinkie?".

Shout out to Monica, Rob, Robert, et al.

Mony, I have no clue about park hours :confused3

Bloodhound, cangrats on the grandbaby!

Sandy, congrats to your son! Very cute indeed.

Moo and Cel, finally got to see he pics today, they look great. What was that dish at Yak and Yeti?

Lexi, great pic of the girls!

I have to go to a funeral tomorrow. Very sad. Former Director of Resorts Finance, a great guy, loved by all. He was 47, with 3 young kids. He was diagnosed with cancer about 8 or so months ago. Someone set up a link for him at a website called "Lot's of Helping Hands", were they would post updates of his progress and condition, and people could leave messages, etc. he recently was resubmitted to the hospital. On Wednesday, we got an email that he was going home, and 24 hour hospice would be with him, but they made it sound like he was going to be better. They even set up a sign-up sheet for volunteers to bring food, help with housework, lawn, etc.
Thursday morning we got an email that he had passed away. So very sad.
There are going to be hundreds of people at the church tomorrow, I know.

In other news, I went to the eye doctor today, to get my reading glasses replaced that I lost last year. My vision has worsened a lot. I couldn't make out ANY letters with my right eye. The doctor said I need cataract surgery NOW, he was ready to sign me up. But I chickened out for now. Probably sometime in the fall, after budgets and visiting Germany. Sounds like you need a week off work for that.

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!
