And I had some dark chocolate M&Ms tonight :)

Lynette, was the second book you mentioned a sequel to the Other Boleyn Girl? I bought the Other Boleyn Girl for my DD before she moved to the farm and she brought it back for me to read when she was home recently.

Monica- I just delete-without-reading junk email. ;) Since we are listing pet peeves- it really gets on my nerves when people tell medical horror stories. Especially if you are dealing with medical stuff. How does that help?

I made two 9 x 13 pans of brownies tonight. They are almost gone.

Hey does anyone know the secret to posting a you tube video link??? I can't seem to get it to post the little you tube box????

I have 4 squares of rice crispy treats left, in a pristine plastic box. free for the taknng. Not a kid in sight!

Hey PJ, Im glad you are confident about your test....So yourNot a wings and beer kinda girl ?....hmmm you must be a vegetarian then..lol...J/K

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

I feel like I slept til noon. It was actually 8:20 but that's like noon to me.

We have ants. DS left a partially finished sucker on the kitchen windowsill and it was like bait. Now I can't get rid of them! I kill them by the hundreds and then they're back in 20 minutes. I feel like "The Destroyer" in the movie Ant Bully. Please advise on your best ant remedies.

We are going to lunch today with our family, FIL, SIL, BIL, and all BIL's family. Then straight to the pool.

Moo....Yes. The Boleyn Inheritance is the sequel to The Other Boleyn Girl and I agree...it's not as good. I've only gotten about half way through and since I know how it's going to end, I just pity poor little Katherine Howard.

Lynette.....YOU DID IT! :cool1: Do you have flights yet? I'll pm you some info.

Monica.....   I wish I was there to take over so you could go to the mall or the spa or sumpn. My mother knows I don't agree with her political ideas but still she forwards that conservative crap to me every day. I have considered some "reply all" replies. Mostly I just delete them.

Bonnie! :wave2: Good to see ya, woman! Now I've got to get to Chicago and hold a tarantula!

Twinkie
....No matter how many brownies you make, they will always disappear...mostly on the first day.

Wendee
.....That list of remedies will cure any woman problem. Good call!

Pumba, Steph, PJ, BNCG, WT, Hound, DTD......:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT FATHER'S DAY!

“The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him.” - Proverbs 23:24

To all thread Daddy's:

happyfathersday2.gif

My son Riley who is 8 as you ALL know, made his dad a fill-in-the-blanks type of "card" at school. I'll share it with you but first, the envelope is decorated with pencil and crayon renderings of various Pokemon and stick figures (one small, one tall) holding hands, a guitar (guitar hero?), and Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. It says, in his cursive handwriting attempt, " To Dad, From Riley" all curli-qued and fancy.

My dad's name is Ron.

He is 48 years old.

He weighs 287 pounds. (:scared1: )

He has NO hair and blue eyes.

His favorite food is My mom's stuff she makes.

He likes to play with me.

He doesn't like to Clean.

My favorite thing about him is play cards with him. (???)

I love him because he's my dad.

(AWWWWWWW!!!!) :lovestruc
THEN, the cardstock card he made has 4 lift-up ties (DH hardly ever wears ties) with the front saying: "Pick a Tie for Father's Day!"

1. has orange, red and yellow cool flames and underneath it says: "Jump on the tramp with you" (LOL!!!! Tramp is short for trampoline...;) )

2. black with rock n roll looking guitar on it says: "Have a pellow fight with you" (heh, public school!)

3. is a stained glass window looking tie: "Watch TV with you"

4. #4 is the best. Lime green background with 5 obscure Pokemons on it. Funny, DH knew what they were (extra points!): "Play video games with you"

I'm sure the teacher was aiming for "wash the car" and similar chores, but MY son picks fun things!

He also got a whole wheat and honey waffle with butter, real maple syrup and powdered sugar. 1 egg, and 2 apple wood thick sliced bacon slices, and fresh squeezed OJ (YES, I did). Now they're all watching Indiana Jones on DVD which buys me time to DIS and Scrabble. :cool1:

Hi Wendy, Great Card. I like the video games one too. We are going out to eat in a short while.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Now do tell how you talked your DH into this trip popcorn::

Heh, Marita. Relentless nagging is my secret. In the form of reasons why the trip was so inexpensive that we couldn't afford NOT to take it. Also, strategic placement of Disney paraphernalia in and around the house so as to induce discussion of WDW between the kids. That Natasha is nearly impossible for DH to say no to. She's my secret weapon! ;)

Lynette, was the second book you mentioned a sequel to the Other Boleyn Girl?

Yep. Not nearly as good. Just saying.

Monica- I just delete-without-reading junk email. ;) Since we are listing pet peeves- it really gets on my nerves when people tell medical horror stories. Especially if you are dealing with medical stuff. How does that help?

ITA, Twink. I am also not a fan of people who love to tell birthing horror stories to a pregnancy first-timer. WTH would anyone do that???

Melinda, sidewalk chalk helps, and is kid- and animal-safe. Use the chalk to draw a line where ever you think they're coming in. Something in the chalk repels the little nuisances. DH uses a spray from Ortho that goes around the foundation of the house. Once it dries, it's safe for pets and kids too. That gets rid of them for sure.

No flights booked yet. I'm looking at AirTran. Any suggestions? I'll take whatever hints you guys have for me!

Happy father's day to all fathers!

DD finally called today. They were having fun in Munich and are going to the Hofbrau Haus tonight. And they ate schnitzel (sniff!). Tomorrow they leave for Salzburg, Austria. Not sure what other stops, and then eventually to Italy.

DS called also. He got to sleep in today (yay) and was getting ready to work on 2 advocacy briefs he has to deliver (EEK!). By the end of the week he should get off-base priviledges, althought he did say he wasn't sure what to do there, except get "real" food. Oh yes, and he did say yesterday he was going to be a designated driver (yay again) in case some guys got a little too happy first time off base. And, TADAAAAAAAA, they weill get TV Priviledges!!!!!!!!!!

Wendy, cute cards!

Lynette, it's gonna be hotter than Hades in July. I just drove to the grociery store, and the A/C barely helped any. Just be prepared and take pool breaks.

I have work to do today, but I am not getting very far. Keep looking for excuses :(

Happy Father's Day.

I just realized I gipped all my day care dads and totally forgot to do our father's day project.

I hate using my life as an excuse, but I don't have any other excuse to use.

It's raining and the sun is shining.

I am making Tim's favorite dinner. Roast Beast, smashed potatoes (we keep the skins on), creamed corn, and garlic bread. We set up the hammock in the back yard and the kids gave him a large laminated map of the US with flags so he can mark all of his travel destinations.

That's all I got. Have a nice day.

Yep, I know it'll be hot. I'm up for it. My kids LOVE the pool at the hotel, and we'll alternate between indoor attractions with A/C and ones that get you soaking wet. When we went in '06, we managed the heat by using Hopper passes. To the parks early in the morning, back to the hotel pool if it got miserably hot, and then back to the parks after peak sun.

Yay on hearing from both your kids...you must be relieved.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads on this thread! Enjoy your day!

 Mony. I'd say your life lately is a pretty darn good excuse!

Roast beast sounds yummy!

I got REAL milk to make chicken fricassee with, but I'm not in the mood for cooking. Not in the mood for anything.

Oh and by the way, chat is not a regular thing. Just once in a while. We actually hadn't had a chat in quite some time. Moo (or someone) will fly the flag though if it does happen, so you will know.

Happy Father's Day!!! to all our thread fathers.

I went to see my dad at the cemetery. He died in 1996 just before I had Nicholas. I took him a pink poppy out of my mom's garden. I had a water bottle in the car so that was my vase. The kids insisted I put it in the garden so they dug a hole and put the bottle into it. We are hoping the seeds fall out and into the garden. I am sure my brothers and sister that go there today will wonder what the heck that is....:lmao:

My dad came along way in life. He came to Ontario from Nova Scotia with a grade 4 education. Worked in a factory then went back to school and learned how to fix TVs. After fixing them at home in the basement he open at store selling TV, appliances, vacuum cleaners. Even open three more stores. Had six kids and went to visit his family ever summer. I really miss him and feel sad because my kids never got to know there grandfather. Nicholas is just like him a joker.

Marita-- glad you heard from you kids. I just found out that my nephew is in Greece heading to Italy.

Lynette-- I noticed you ticker right off. I think W.T's is going in July but at the end I think.

Mony--

Pumba-- hope your eye heals quickly so the drops don't hurt.

Forgot to say Happy Anniversary to Babynurse and Ronstopable!!!
And Happy Anniversary to Celerymama and mr Celery!!!

DD just called again, because she forgot to wish DH a happy Father's Day. She said she got pulled on stage at the Hofbrau Haus with about 4 other people to ring cow bells, or something, and got some pics and a cure neckless.

I put the chicken in the microwave to cook, and might make the fricassee later (DH can eat it tomorrow), but I think a nap is in order first.

Accomplishing any work this weekend was a total bust :badpc:

Nab, ncie to bring your daddy flowers. I always have to do that too when I go home, wihich is not often, bring my Pappa some flowers. My dad met my son when he was 9 months old, but that was all. At least my mom got to see them grow up a lot.

I still have all four. Come and get 'em! All yours!

Going to attempt the chicken a la King now, I think........

Thanks, we had a nice familiy feast at O'Charley with my dad, sister and brother and there families...a 3 generation fathers day feast :woohoo:

My dad is a retired Chemistry Professer mom passed away a couple years ago from pancreatic cancer...she didnt want the chemo and hospice was called in she lived about 4 months. I took off work an helped her.
