OMG, I broke the thread....

Morning anyways...it is raining YET AGAIN...but that means the brown grass around Maine will be maybe green again and we will have to mow it...hahaha..

I dont have my little munchkin this week ..so i will be busy as a bee....Plan on going out to lunch with my daughter and then back to the grind..

This weekend is the balloon festival and we plan on taking Saturday off so we can enjoy it...Our granddaughter, her boyfriend and his parents are coming too..they can all stay at the new house..I just have to fill up some munchies and breakfast items..
Hotels and Motels are going for almost 200 a night during this time frame....and that is stupid to pay that much when we have four bedrooms someone can sleep at...well three are bedrooms and one is a computer room but blow up beds and real beds for anyone that wants to come..

Hope you all have a good day...

Rained here the last two days too.

Busy cleaning the kids rooms still. Nicholas's is half done, should be okay for his bed to come on Friday.

Pumba-- sounds like your house is coming along. Does this mean you are going to repaint or you can live with the colour? I hate painting...hubby does most of it.

Moo-- yes Nicholas hair is very short now and he like it too. I told him he could grow it a bit longer but it is cool ,especially when he plays baseball. I don't like the sideburns he has but he said it makes him look older as if he needs that.

Hannah got her hair trimmed already for school, I was beating the rush. I wanted her to cut hers shorter but she wants to grow it long. Most times she has it in a ponytail anyway. :confused3 Her hair is super thick and terrible to wash and comb, then had a curl to it.

Pumba - We have just had a s-l-o-w summer here overall!

I was out of town for work last night and tonight. Don't think I'll be staying in that hotel again. They really used a lot of room freshener. Even my coworker commented on it smelling strong in his room. At least it didn't affect my breathing. Glad to be back home sleeping in my own bed tonight!

Nabbie - I didn't even notice Nicholas's sideburns in the photos, LOL! I remember how hard it was to take care of Mari's hair when she was young and wanted it long :headache:

hello..
its me..
Last night we went to the mall and got new towels for all to enjoy this weekend at the new house...ROFL..NOT FOR ME OF COURSE.....and a bath mat so they can shower and not track it around....the floors are all clean and are ready for them too..

I got up this morning and (last night went to a fit and win celebration) and they had someone from THE GYM do exercises with us for a while.....well I CANT move that great.......bending over to get my leg in the undies was the pits...I had a hard time..took some ibu already and will take two more in a few....I called hubby up and told him ....and my walking buddy from next door said .."I told you all this exercise would kill us"...hahahaha...

I ate the rest of my fried clam dinner from yesterday.....it was a luncheon portion and omg it was huge and enough for two meals......but I enjoyed it ..

When my daughter was young ...her hair was almost in the middle of her butt.....I remember her making her first communion and she had this bow in her hair and all her blonde long hair from the back..photos.. what great memories.....
Today was my daddys birthday.....he would of been 99 today...and has been gone 31 years.. Tomorrow is our granddaughters birthday and she will be 22...time sure does fly by

Pumba - I can SO relate on the exercise thing. I really need to get myself back into my routine, but am dreading the pain after slacking off for too long!!!

yeah, i am still alive! :yay:

oh, just wanted to add my feelings toward the "casey" outcome.

....people may be angered but what was the da thinking?! we
didn't need this- as our children are not protected as they should be.
i don't think there any doubt that she had a major role in her
daughter death. but why did they went after the death penalty
when all they had- for sure, was the tape over her mouth?!
( i think their theory was excellent but this for "death"). if i was
on the jury , how could you give that without an eye-witness
or video? the obstacle of the tape...she could have applied it
after death. this whole story is so sad because of the message
it sends. however, i can't imagine her feeling like a winner,
or escaping whatever she did to her daughter.

glad she must stay in orlando...it just our luck that she came to
ohio.

well, well -well! now miami are in trouble over their football program.
it makes the osu situation look like a big mistake...which it was, from
the start. so now , what can the ncaa going to do? it's strange,
because some miami fans told me, they couldn't believe what
was going down @ osu. now they ruined some players careers &
a coach's job. ncaa got some major issues- within. they "need" to
have some professional input to set up the rules they need versus
rules that should be dropped. their biggest problem is understanding
the differences between managing & controlling. i am worry that
they will try to destroy miami in order to protect their ongoing
mistakes.

for the beginning- a coach is not a parent { to the players } & they
have no business holding them to this level. however, these are
young adults & will make these kind of mistakes. destroying their
career is liked putting a person in jail for 20 years for jaywalking.

...but they have been ignoring wrong-doings on the field , liked
forever! [ michigan 79 rose bowl loss- in which they won the game.]
...another example, was the bowl game between tenessee & osu...
where they beat the buckeyes but violated the "cleats" length- they
wore cleats that were way above because the field was a swamp.
if they were on an even playing field, osu would have won.

"football" in college, is an after school activity & anything [esp. gambling]
should not be tolerated when it effects the outcomes.

this is going to be interesting but the ncaa needs some "internal reviews"
with some changes being made for all the kids/families/students/
communities that this activity should be for. they need to learn some
basics human dynamics & ways to redirect & set limits-the proper
ways.

when i ran my soap box derby program, my priority was for the kids
racing, each & everyone. you can't believe how much trouble the
parents were-- even to their own kids.

what are we doing next? we have the member cruise & then we're
going for hawaii resort & back to disneyland! :yay:,

:yay: pretty good for an almost retired guy?

if any you are considering an alaska cruise, i say do it! that's a
cruise i could do over & over.

*
maybe i shouldn't but "human dynamics" are something i wish our
schools would re-introduced. { that's exactly was so great about the
dick & jane's stories. }. & i tell you my reasoning..life is so precious,
so wonderful but there are certain factors everyone need to
be informed as to make their choices that "they will want to
remember in the future instead of trying to forget. i am no saint,
but by golly, i wasn't the "one' who placed these standards to guide us.
if one desires proof, just read the first chapter & you discover
the force that knows every detail to human behaviors. what it is?
the secrets of living your life to the fullest, but it does not
mean you won't be challenged. in the health field, we need to
used the knowledge of body mechanics in our teachings. wash
your hands will protect & give longer life. wanta do heart
problems prevention? take care of yuor teeth/mouth from
infections. * because your heart /vessels/blood is part of
a transportation system, this prevent germs/junk" damaging
your "ticker." @ work, can't tell you how effective using
basic humor to help others toward recovery.

moo? the dvc @ disneyland was great! best room yet! sure wish
you was doing this year member cruises.

Lil'g-- what is a members cruise?

Can't believe how busy I have been the last week. Hopefully I can slow down next week. But Nicholas room is ready for his new bed.

Speaking of beds. I can not believe how expensive sheet sets are and comforters these days. If you wanted it can be as expensive as the the mattress set or more. He did not get the ones he really wanted but we did get him one he could live with.... It is black and grey reversable one with dark grey sheets.

We had baseball night and Nicholas got hit in the jaw. He is going to have a nice bruise there I am sure. I was just happy it didn't knock his teeth out. You can never tell where he got hit other then the face when it happens, pretty scary. But we are in the playoff this weekends so that makes him happy.

I have an appointment tomorrow at 9:30 cause I was in so much pain earlier..I cried when I moved to fast one direction.....the rug rat from next door came over for a visit and I had to ask him to throw the rest of the stuff in the washer to go into the dryer......It hit me and I was crying......he was concerned and kept asking what else can I do.
Oh well.....its hell to get old and I got old when I wasnt looking.......what would a few exercises do that would kill like this........the nurse told me to take four ibu every six hours....so that is what I am doing.
I have so much to do ...today our granddaughter and her boyfriend came and it is her birthday.....so I took some more pills and we went out to eat with them and my daughter and her hubby.....and us.
and this weekend is the balloon festival and we have kt's boyfriends parents coming.....and then try to move some more to the house.....well that crap can wait......not going to suffer more then I already am....go figure..

Pumba-- Hope you feel better soon.

I hate delivery people said they would call with a 3 hour window that they are delivering the mattress...4-7 tonight. We must be their last one of the day. The upside is I don't have to stay in all day wait. I should though the kids rooms look lovely but the rest of the house looks like a bomb hit.

But when hubby is home we never stay in....maybe we will hit the waterpark for a bit or there is still a bit of back to school stuff to do. It's Friday so traffic will be crazy out there. I go with the flow.

I went to the doctors and they said...DAHHHHHH I have some muscles that went from pulled to into a spasm....she told me that I couldnt do much for a week to let them heal......I started to tear up and told her I had to much to do...she said someone else can help...she gave me a good pill that I have to go and pick up at the pharmacy and will sleep tonight ..

See ya

Ouch, Pumba! Sorry you're laid up when there's so much to get done :grouphug: That can be SO frustrating.

Lil G - I'm cruising (for the first time!) with the Nabbie family and a retired friend from work, so no Members Cruise for me . . . I'm pretty excited. We get to visit Castaway Cay two times :goodvibes

Nabbie - Hope the mattress delivery went smoothly and you and the kids had a chance to do something fun today :thumbsup2

Just found out today that my friend's surgery is September 2, so hopefully everything will go well and she'll have plenty of time to heal before the cruise.

Moo-- I can't wait and hope your friend is ok.

The mattress came around 5:00 just as we were sitting down to an early supper. His room looks really good. I am the type of person that just could stand and look in his room all night. It will never be as clean and the bed made so neat after tonight....

So Hannah and Nicholas have really clean rooms on to my and the upstairs bathroom next. If I am not to sore from moving all the furniture around , I have a sore on the top of my foot from his bookcase. Hubby and I were moving it back into the room and it scrapped the top of my bare foot. I go bare foot in the house in the summer all the time.

Pumba-- Hope you have a good nights sleep and you pill helps you.

Pumba. yikes about your pains, what bad timing. Hope the pills help
Nab, yay for new furniture

Moo, hope you friend recovers

Nothing to report here, same old stuff. But we get to tour the big Launry facility on Monday which I have been to a few times before, but it always amazes me, the engineering of it all is just amazing.

LilG, the member cruise should be very interesting with the recent firings, yikes!

I need to go buy some new bigger clothes this weekend, whaaaa!!!!!!!!!

Almost forgot: of any of you follow Nebo and Smidgy, new report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=42319396#post42319396

morning..
The "pill' that was supposed to let me sleep and relieve some of the pain wore off at three am.....I just took three ibu cause this morning I hurt really good..

This morning went outside and watched the hot air balloons in the sky...what a beautiful morning ...how can we complain about this....I counted 14 at once and three are specialty balloons.....a beaver, an owl and a lady bug...those are huge...finally said I have had enough and came inside....I was out there in my housecoat..

our granddaughter her beau and his parents went down to the take off area at six am and they finally took off at six thirty (the balloons)...air has to be perfect and it takes a while to blow them up with the air and the heat from the propane thingie..She said it was beautiful down there.
She was three years old when they first came to town and she thought it was for her birthday...she always says its time to celebrate ...she just turned 22 on Thursday...

okey enough of this.....see you after the pills really kick in..

we went down last night to the festival and watched the balloons take off....and for the moon glow...
One balloon, the propane disengaged and spilled propane on them and then the fire lit them up.....two went to one hospital and two were flown to the burn unit in another city..some were treated at the festival...very scarey when it happened.....we saw the flare up and then the people tending the ropes immediately took the balloon to the ground and deflated it....

I have to get food ready for todays noon time dinner for 12...I know my daughter and dil and hubby will help get this together.
See ya later gators..

Oh, Pumba - How scary that the balloon glow went awry :( Both my grandfather and mother suffered burns and it is a difficult healing process :grouphug: Sending prayers for those who were injured.

Nabbie - Glad you got Nicholas and Hannah's rooms squared away! Sorry to hear you got scraped up

I am getting pretty tired of being attacked my mosquitoes. They just LOVE me!!! We are swarming with the little buggers after having a couple of ponds in our yard with the rainy weather a couple weeks ago :headache: Grrr!

Hubby is away on a work trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a few days. I am enjoying the peace and quiet ;) So far . . . I may change my tune in another day or so, LOL!

Pumba, that is scary about the balloon, Yikes!

I just posted this on FB, but I thought I'd copy it here for there not reading there (NAB?)

For my DIS friends:
Toured the Disney Laundry facility today (sheets, towels, pillow cases, not restaurant linens or costumes, they have seperate plants).
Some amazing statistics:
- If you were to launder all they do in ONE day in your home washer, it would take 52 YEARS!
- The water used in one day would fill 27 swimming home pools
- Sheets in one day would stretch from Orlando to Key West
It's also frigging hot and humid and noisy there, but the engineering is amazing, all about automation, except for towel feeder people that feed machines the fold the sheets and towels, then the stacking into Metro people, the loading to truck people, the delivery drivers, and the guys that unload and sort the dirty linen coming in. (talk about some sucky jobs!!) How would you like to feed towels into a machine at the rate of about 10 or 12 or more per minute for 8 hours? Talk about sore arms!
Amazing operation, and I think the 3rd largest in the world (as in earth, not WDW)

Marita-- Those are some facts about the laundry. I would not want to work there. Way to hot I'm sure. I used to do the same job day in and out when I worked at different factories. You make a game of it some days or you get good enough that you just talk to the people around you while you work. Do your job and go home, no surprises.

I was at my mom on the weekend and read that one of the places I worked is closing. I have worked in 7 different places since I left school. This is the 7th one to close. Everyone one of them has shut down the factory or closed the store. Hubby told me not to apply where he works. I would have no references to call if I did want to go to work.

Pumba-- Hope your feeling better today. So sad about the couple that got burned.

Off to clean up my house and take Nicholas to baseball practice this morning they have the championship game tonight. The last game of the season.

Wow that is fascinating. Did you learn anything about if they EVER wash those nasty comforters? ;)

I just figure that the more exposure we get to the nasties in small quantities the more immune we become.

Our church meets in a public school and every week Ellie drops her donut on the ground and still eats it. Amazingly we rarely get sick. The last time sickness had it's grips on us was at/after Disney(in May). Kaleb got sick our last couple days and Ellie was very sick when we got home. It was a bacterial infection it seems they might have picked it up from the petting zoo at AK.

Anyway that was totally off topic. Sorry I've been MIA. I check in every once in a while, life is just insane.

to funny about the donut and ellie still eating it.....I LOVE IT...

Marita, those statistics are amazing...I often would see the trucks outside the resorts and wonder....how on earth do they do it....and now you have answered it...We went to Disney when they changed the sheets each and every morning.....I thought...its our sheets...we dont change our sheets at home every day....they do them now every fourth morning???....geesh...We did do our bit by hanging up our towels on the racks in the bathrooms and keeping them for an extra shower or swim.....
Still amazing what they do...

Hope you all have an amazing fall day in the right areas and nice day in the HOT and IRENE areas......
