Welcome back, Nabbie!!! Glad you made the drive safely :grouphug: I think your ship sailed off your ticker the day you left! Looking forward to hearing about your vacation :)

Pumba - Sorry to hear that your doggy path got covered up! Hopefully your neighbors can get it cleared off. I'm glad that we had enough blowing that our back yard didn't need to have a path made.

We're just having some light flurries today so far. Fingers crossed that it stays that way or stops.

I know that I was being petty......but the snow that came off their roof made it up to the three feet mark.....so hubby had to put on his snowshoes and pack it down for the dog because the neighbors snowblower could not fit thru the gate...

Welcome back, Nab, missed you!

Pumba, sounds like some real hassle with the neighbor. Couldn't the SIL have patted the snow down?

I had a weiird weekend, I was bored to death yesterday, so I worked on some stuff most of the day, and again a few hours today. Not that I didnt have anything more productive to do, like clean the house or something. But that would require me to get off my butt :rolleyes1
Still didnt get nails done, I regret it every week after it't too late.

Got an "experience property as a guest" (required/suggested, they cant really require you to actually STAY since they dont pay) lunch planned for tomorrow, taking the boat to DTD for EOS. We'll see if that actually happens, at least the weather should be nice enought at 78 before it dips down into the 60's again.

PS: wonder whatever happened to Lil G?

if you dont want to spend the night Marita........when some one is checking out......go up to them and ask their experiences.......get it from the horses mouth...We always enjoyed Both PO FQ and Dixie Landings.......we always stayed at the Alligator bayou....good experiences both places. One time we saw this HUGE mound of fire ants.......called security and within ten minutes that was HISTORY...

Then once when we were on the bus going out of property...we saw an alligator in the water near where the busses go out to get to the main drag.....that was totally awesome......that was history too they said.......HAHAHA..

I love the fact that we picked Disney 18 years ago for our first trip away from our family....we love disney..
I think it is now at the 79 mark...or maybe 80...but close

Back to reality....

Getting the kids ready for school, shovel snow, see the snow plow just put snow back in driveway.....

I am tired today. Spend the day washing and running yesterday. I think I will be napping this afternoon. Feel a cold coming on too. Hannah has one too.

Be back later to tell you about my tirp....

can hardly wait to hear the good things that you did and ATE..

I am ready to eat something.......I saw the commercial on tv about THREE MUSKETEERS CANDY bar.......and oh I would of loved one of those......OR A PAY DAY.........but it is to slick to go for a walk today......very icy still ..

I was reading THE LOST SYMBOL by Dan Brown and I am two thirds done and thought i would give my eyes a rest......having fun with my Ava but she is watching the **** TUBE........she loves Max and Ruby....very calming program so its fine to watch it...

having haddock tonight for supper.......I love FISH.....YUMMY.......with a baked tater too......small one for me......and then carrots too or peas.....probably peas ...makes it a pretty color .....

Turkey is almost all gone......shared some with neighbors so all that is left is enough for a sandwich .....

see ya later gators

NAB!!! I want every last detail about your magical vacation :)

REturning to reality is tough.

We have been busy, snowed in, internet issues, blah blah blah.

I do miss dreck and drivel.

We miss YOU, Twink!

Dreck, drivel, incessant blather . . . it's all the same -- but it sure is more fun when you and some of your cohorts are around!

Marita - Please report in on how your "playing tourist" lunch went! ;)

Nabbie - We're waiting to hear how crowded it was seeing Harry Potter!!! :rolleyes1

I know I promised but I was hoping to show pictures too and hubby is not home yet. We haven't looked at them yet.

Going down was uneventful. No plane delays and it really didn't seem like we were at the airport 2 hours before. We just walked and checked out the stores.

On the map I saw of Universal and Islands of Adventure looked like a far walk from the Hard Rock Hotel but it really wasn't. The walk to our room was pretty long though. We did not get ice unless the kids went out to get it, slavery I tell you. Our town car let us make a grocery stop so we stopped at a Publix ? It was nice inside , it was in a mall with other empty stores. We stopped here before on our last trip

Since we stayed on site at the Hard Rock we had early entry. Harry Potter is at the far back of the park. They were shooting a commerical that day by the train so they pointed you the long way to get back there. I thought it would be a bigger area but it is quiet small. The castle is impressive, Hannah did not like the Forbidden Journey but I didn't want to miss it. It is almost like soaring you go up over the castle/school of Hogwarts. Then they spin you kind of and you are close to spiders which Hannah did not like. Nicholas loved it and went many times.

They are making a killing of the scrafes , Nicholas bought one but with out the crest on it 9that one was close to $60.), he got the red and gold one for half the price , they also had blue and green. Some kids and adults were buying the robes but they were $100. no thanks. He did get a wand though. I call it a stick for $29.99. :lmao: The theme in that area is pretty cool. We did have Butter Beer. They sell it cold or frozen. Nicholas liked the cold one with foam on top....I thought it felt like gelitin was in it and thick. I like the frozen drink better. Definitely creme soda in it.

We were there two days. I spend most of my days with Hannah riding Cat in the Hat and the little train they have there. This was Island of Adventures. Over at Universal we did the Simpson ride over and over. Hubby and I both said we could have done it all in one day, the second day was just repeating the rides again. We did have the fast pass or front of the line thing from the hotel which really helped with the early mornings.

Spent the nights on the City Walk. It was cold out....the first night I froze and should have had a sweater. They too have a boat from the hotels to the City Walk. The City Walk is in between the too park. The captain asked Hannah if she wanted to honk the horn but she was to shy.

We thought the parks closed to early, 6:00. So we spent the evening going though the shops.

Nab - I want every detail about harry potter!

I will try to get some pictures for you Celery. I see you are heading on a trip !

Need to light a fire under hubby tonight when he gets home.

Twinkie, good to see you around again, miss you!

Nab, thank for the update. I hope to make it to Universal and IOA one of these years, never been, LOL. So the real question is: Would you go again next vacation?

Moo, ride to DTD didnt happen again today. We just missed the boat, it was ready to pull out just as we were approaching and the Captn yelled out that the boat was full as he had to save seats for people at FQ (which I am glad Pumba will appreciate). So instead of waiting 20 minutes or going back to the office for 10 minutes, we decided to just have lunch from the food court. I had another Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo (where is the getting really fat from this smiley I need here?). But I do get 2 or 3 meals out of it for $9, so not too bad cost wise.

Pumba, for your benefit in case your are planning to eat this, here is the way I prefer it: Fettucini, Alfredo sauce, shrimp, artichoke hearts, red peppers, roasted tomatoes, prosciuotto, mushrooms, and spinach. YUMMY!!! They fry up the shrimp in a hot pan with spices, then add the ingredients, then the sauce, then the noodles and toss it all together. They also have peas, onions, parmesan and some other stuff, just mix and match ingredience for your preference. A slice of garlic bread and fresh parmesan to top it off. Too bad my leftovers are at the office, LOL, I'll have to make due with my tacos for dinner.

I was trying to upload some pictures but photobucket is not cooperating. Now it froze up on me. Well have to try later.

Finally went out and got some food in the house. Bad day to do it though. We are in the deep freeze again with wind. Kids even got to stay in for recess today it was so cold. There winter carnival was canceled though , they should have done it yesterday it was mild and nice snow flakes were coming down.

Still not back to normal yet...getting there. At least I am not rocking anymore like I am still on the boat.

The Forbidden Journey is in the castle....

The whole area was really cool, they have tons of pictures of things I didn't even notice...They spend alot of time back there.

074.jpg

Nicholas drinking butter beer...he must have had 6 of them in two days...
057.jpg

Celery you will love the buildings and stores back in this area, there is a train back there too. All together there are three rides. Forbidden Journey, a small roller coaster that Hannah and I got on that was so fast you blink you were done...but you see Ron's car in line for this one. The there is the Dragon one that Nicholas and Joe said it wasn't bad....it was bad for us Hannah and I both just closed our eyes...it was a coaster that went all around in loops.

Hannah had me wait for this guy to come out....he was pretty funny and very light on his feet.
161.jpg

Me with the Mystery Machine....We did see Shaggy and Scooby out alot.
170.jpg

Oh I love Scooby dooby dooooooooooo....that was the kids favorite show and as a good parent back then ......I watched it too......

Sounds like you had a great vacation ...well the kids did too...I love his scarf....that is wicked cool....

Okey Marita.....I went and took out a pkg of shrimp from the freezer and we will have shrimp alfredo with linguini...That should hold me until DiSNEY...

I love to sit and look at the scenery on that boat to DTD.....it is so peaceful until they honk the horn....hahaha..

The realtor called today and the house we wanted info on......is under contract but if it falls thru she will call us.....we were late thinking about it I guess..

Oh well ...some house will be there waiting for us.......

Today was so nice at first......and then FREEZING NOW and the wind hurt my face when we were out...

This is were Hannah and I spend most of our Island of Adventure days....

032.jpg

Hannah always picked Norton the elephant...of course this is not him..
047.jpg

This one I rode the most...on a couch.
046.jpg

This one was evil...we did not know we would get wet on this one....then we thought if we stayed up like Dumbo we wouldn't get hit. Not the case. If you didn't listen to the song that was playing carefully you got hit. It would tell you to go up or down depending on the colour fish you were in. Well we did not remember what colour it was so we got blasted a lot! Hannah thought it was really funny because I was on the outside and got hit the most.

044.jpg

This area was fun and cool to look at...right out of a cartoon. We rode the train around the area many times it is up above so you can see funny signs and wave to the people eating there lunch in the big top. It goes around the top just like a toy train would in a shop. :lmao:

I must go there, Nab!!!! COOOOOOL!

ooops, I try to quietly "lurk".
