Mony - We can fly out of Detroit and be roomies for the MOOvers meet! No kids, spa days, reading on the deck, laying on the beach on Castaway Cay. Sounds LOVELY!!! We can share a room with Marita :)

Pumba - 100 days?! You have plenty of time to do a t-shirt exchange! :goodvibes You'll probably need a smaller size by then!!!

Nabbie - What did you think of BL tonight? I was disappointed that Dan of the black team went home, but I could kind of understand it. Good thing the blue team was able to stay . . .

T-E-A-S-E!

My bags are packed and I'll be knocking on your door in 1 hour and 45 mins.

When I graduate, I want to reward myself with something really nice.

So, DH called last night after he got checked in and he was upgraded to the 17th floor, view of DTD and EPCOT.

check it out

Mony--you deserve something huge after you graduate. You have been working hard at school, home, and taking care of the kids!

Moo-- Was disappointed that the black though it too. I do like how they are playing this year. They are working as a team, I think they are there for the right reasons. Now we shall see once the other half comes back what happens then.

We had rain yesterday and now it is all frozen up! No snow day though thank goodness. I need to get things done with out them under foot. Plus I don't want them to miss any more school then they have too.

Tonight I get to visit the public High School and tomorrow night I visit the Catholic High School. Nicholas has a choice. The public is closer and he can walk, the other he would have to take the town bus. Not sure how that works if they get a special bus straight there or not. Plus they would also have to wear uniforms which is another expense. And the third thing would be he would have to take religion for the four years which would take away a course he could be taking or needing for further education. And the all important thing to him is where are his friends going....This is going to be a tough one.

to cool Nab...
Kids had a big decision in alot of areas....here too in Maine. They closed three catholic schools and put them in one and renamed the Trinity Schools...Our school and church are still for sale...Wonder who will buy them and put WHAT in them...
Today hubby took off and is snowblowing the two driveways. Then moving the two trucks around ...he still has alot to do upstairs so he thought he could do it if he stayed home an extra day...I like him home...

Someone said we are in for another storm coming this pm ..two to four more inches of the dreaded white stuff and then another storm for Friday and then something possibly for Tuesday......what is going on...I asked ever so politely to miss the snow this year and just give us one Christmas Snow and then NOTHING....but nooooooooo did they listen to me..

Ava is watching DORA ...but she calls the show...DIT DIT DIT DORA......I think that is cute.

Have a good morning everyone

I am sooooo ready to lose it with Matt's sp. ed teacher today.

I asked her if he could get extra time this week with his exams and any in the future.

This was her response:

He can have more time on assignments, tests, and quizzes. Exams too. But the only problem may be that he could get more behind because he is always playing catch up. He can also take his exams with me or maybe in the counseling office. I just need to know which exams and what hour so I can arrange it.

What logical sense is there in ME having to tell her when his tests are?????

I don't think she is going to like the response I sent her, I'm tired of stupidity! This is so not the week to be stupid in my presence.

We have a check system in place to prevent him from falling behind. I just asked about tests. Her classroom is right next to his other teachers. Why is it my job to tell her how to do her job?

Thanks for the vent!

Mony -- I hear you on the teacher thing. I have been trying to get work before we go away and he tells Nicholas he will give it to him tomorrow. This was last week after Nicholas asked and I wrote a note. It is always tomorrow. Last time we went on our cruise Ncholas spend an hour a day if not more doing a project the teacher said he had to be done the day we came back. :sad2:

I watched the Dream get christened this morning on the Disney website. Looks beautiful in Florida...and warm , people were wearing shorts.

Is it warmer now Marita?

Does your son have an advocate ..like the Social Worker making sure that he does not fall behind and to be notified of any problems. I think that someone has to be held accountable for him ..well actually to make the Sp ed person get her act together and get the exams and things he needs ...Geesh...want me to come and bop her a good one...

We had a boring dinner again...this chicken crap is driving me nuts..one night chicken, one night haddock and then one night we had big meatballs cause I dont want to fill up on pasta.....I could use some real food....maybe get a big fat juicy steak and nothing else....or maybe we can go to the chinese buffet and eat......when I am trying to behave and eating the proper diabetic way.....I at first say I WANT FOOD.....ANYTHING........
Come on over and look at the food porn......then I really drool......

it is still snowing a little bit here.....first it was rain and then more snow and slush.......good old brown yucky slush..

have a good evening

You betcha, Moo and Mony, LOL. You know I'd be going solo for sure. When do you graduate, Mony?

Bummer on all the teacher troubles....

I tried to post yestereve, but the Dis was not coperating. I got to see the model room for the Mansions yesterday, looks really nice, BUT, the bathroom is all white and CHROME! Chrome pipes showing under the sink and chrome bars across. It totally does NOT match the theme. I hope they change it.
Other than that, nothing exciting here, just a lot of work. I can't believe tmorrow is only Thursday, and I had Monday off :confused3

Pumba, I hear you on the food. I am starving at lunch lately, so i got another big shrimp fettucini Alfredo today. Not good for my waistline. I used to need a belt to hold my pants up, no more...:sad2:

Talk about information over load....wow. If I feel overwhelmed I can imagine what the kids feel like.

We did talk to some of the teachers they seem nice. They all looked at Nicholas and said your a big one aren't you. One teacher thought he was a grade 12 student.

Then they tell us there courses need to be picked by the end of the month well we will be away. Tomorrow will be another round.

Mony-- thanks for the weather report.

Nab...one more week and you are out of here......today we hit the 99 days till vacation....am I happy or what.....

Marita...Okey this is good...you are eating FOOD....next time get a garden salad and eat that first and maybe a smaller amount of that SHRIMP ALFREDO.I am definitely walking over to Riverside to get me some of that........hahaha....I just had a bowl of popcorn (yuck) and one piece of my orange......dont want to go over the dreaded 15 carbs for a snack..

Dishes are done and tomorrow KT is coming home so hubby can register the car. SHe loves this car and it is reliable......that is the main thing.....so she will be taking back with her a table that has a drop leaf and two chairs so she can have her beau over and eat on a table instead of their laps or tv trays.

I ordered four boxes of GS cookies..why oh why did I do such a thing......well first off my niece is selling them........so I said I HAVE TO help out the GS's and my darling niece.....yes I have alot of nieces.....actually this one is a great niece....so two thin mints and one peanut butter sandwich and one short bread.....oh oh oh.....I love the pb ones so much.

I hope you all have a good night..
NAB thought of something......what is the rate that the kids go to college at the catholic school or the public one.....and what kind of classes do they encourage according to the ability of the student to help them excel...another thing is does the Catholic school put them in classes that the student may not want to be in ......like business vs classes geared to biology or chemistry.....we had a few issues that way here ..
True on the religion part.......alot of hours doing that

Pumba: I have a list of people who I can contact, but they are the ones that didn't do what I wanted last year. I am basically on my own, I AM HIS ADVOCATE. I think me and the ASD specialist are on the same page. I just have to catch this very busy man. He works across five districts. If I kept at what I am doing, I know they are gonna get real tired of me, and will do what ever they can to keep me a happy parent.

I am sorry if I am not making any friends at the HS, but I did get somewhere today. I called the social worker yesterday. At the meeting they informed me of Matt's new schedule starting Monday and they put him in Art. A class he didn't even ask for as an elective. My son has not an ounce of artistic ability in him. He thinks concretely for pete's sake! So I left him a message saying that I was going to be very passionate about Matt getting something that he asked for. Tired of him getting let down. He called me back today and they made it work and he got a computer class. Something he is actually good at! I like this man.

I think bed is calling me early tonight. Hope to dream about cruisin'!

Mony, wow, some fight you got on your hands. Makes me exhausted just thinking about it! Great for you to get his class changed! :thumbsup2

Lynt, I meant to say yesternight (except the Dis wouldn't let me): The place where DD works pulled the same S*** on her, keeping her on PT status although she worked 40 hours a week, no benefits. And this is a International non-profit!!!. It's ILLEGAL!! She didn't say anything for fear they would cut her hours. Anyway, she was just made a permanent employee first of the year, with benefits, FINALLY!
Maybe you can persue something along the lines of permanent hours without benefits, therefore illegal??? :confused3 Although if CBM has no money, not sure how far that would go.

Just saw this link about the new castle show for the Memories, the whole thing, instead of just the opening. It runs for 10:41 minutes. People are raving about it in the posts, I'm still thinking Meehh. Maybe cause I saw it on my laptop. Anyway, here's the link:

Just want to ask you to lift up my co-worker Ron, who had heart valve repair surgery yesterday, and his family in prayer. I don't want to post any details here at this point, but am hoping for better news tomorrow than we heard today. Thanks in advance.

Hang in there, Mony :grouphug: Sounds like we need a mini-meet soon.

My daughter is a special ed teacher and she has always said........The parents are the childs best advocate.....You have to keep after these people Monica....because someone there will take a hint that you are not going to let your child down ...I am proud of you...

My daughter just picked up two dozen eggs and newspapers for her wood stove.she starts it off with a piece here and there.....She has a terrible cold but there is no one to take over her classes if she doesnt go in.....so she said last week I couldnt go in because of the oral surgery...so she had to go today..her cough sounds like its in her lungs.

Hope you all have a great day ...the sun is almost....I SAID ALMOST out....

I learned this morning that my co-worker, Ron, passed away last night. I'm so, so sad. Please include his wife and children in your prayers.

OH Moo.....of course we will keep the family and Ron in our prayers.....sad isnt it..

Went for a short walk to the store with Ava.......took at least a half hour of going pee (her) getting her gear on and then myself and going to the store..it is COLD....but slippery still and had a hard time holding her hand so she would fall in the slush that is out there still.....I got a half an italian and she got her piece of cheese she gets every time we go in.....they started her off with a pickle she would suck on.(YUCK) and then her cheese.......some of the other kids would get a green pepper and they started to like their italian sandwiches from Andy...Tomatoes and onions were the last ...cause for some reason they all loved the ham slices..

they are saying another storm is coming tomorrow...this has been a heck of a few weeks..on again and off again storms...

Moo-- How sad, I will keep the family in my prayers too.

Pumba--Nice and sunny here. Cold but not not as bad as it could be. I hear snow is on the way too. Everyone seems to be getting hit this year.

Just came back from taking Buddy to the inlaws. Poor thing got his yearly shots this morning before going too. The vet told us he should have one or two teeth pulled because it looks like he has a cavity....:confused3 He eats, doesn't cry or anything. She gave us a quote to remove at least on eof the teeth....$996.00. :scared1: $350 of that is putting him under. The rest is xrays , meds, and $124.00 to pull the tooth. Crazy.

Tonight is second night of high school. This time Nicholas won't be with us , he is snowboarding with the ski club. He has already toured this one with the school since it is the catholic one. I will have to remember your questions Pumba.

Thanks very much for the prayers for Ron.

This morning we learned that we had also lost another coworker from our office last night. He was in our Senior Environmental Employee program and quite a bit older than Ron, but it was totally unexpected and such a freaky coincidence. Everyone in my office was in shock today.

Pumba - Stay warm! Hope you don't get too much of the nasty, cold, white stuff. I'm trying to get over a cold, but it seems to be going into my chest today. Grrr. If it's not better by tomorrow, I'm probably going to have to break down and see the doctor to get some antibiotics.

Nabbie - Ouch$$$. My sister had a similar issue with her cat's teeth several years ago. I can't remember if she had to have any removed or just let it go. Her cat is still able to eat, but only eats soft food now.

Good luck with your high school decision for Nicholas.

Nab: I'm sure you will make the best choice for your son with his interests in mind. How's the packing, I need a distraction.

Moo: So sorry about your friends.

Can I say I really like my classes again. I love when I know, I am gonna learn things that are usefull and beneficial for what I am doing. So glad the bs classes are done and I get to have fun in my core classes. I can't wait until Tuesday, I get to be in a classroom again!

It took me an hour and 15 mins to drive home today. The roads were bad and people we just crawling along. We are getting some snow just enough to make the roads bad. Spin outs along the way home.

Mal has tomorrow off, so I am taking my girls and the one day care child to visit with my sister. She had a mass removed from her abdomin last week, it was either part of her placenta left behind from her c-section 9 years ago, or a pregnancy that she didn't know about that attached outside the womb. Weird eh? We are gonna have one of those sisterly sit on our butts and just talk days. With no men around! LOL! A good soul cleansing if you know what I mean. She lives about an hour north of me.

Tim said it was in the 80's today.

Thanks for the support!
