Mony, couldn't Tim just lie and say it's in the 40's and windy? GRRRRR

Glad you get to spend some time for a heart-to-heart. Great that you love your classes.

Moo, so sorry about your friends. Two in a day, WOW

Nab, sounds like a difficult decision. Hopefully Nicholas has a preference that will make it easier (don't know if money is involved though). Yikes on the cat's teeth, that's just a huge amount to pay! I'd vote for the soft food :rolleyes1

My diet has been really off the last couple of days. Yesterday I was starving at lunch so I had a big lunch of fettucini (still have more left for tomorrow) so I wasn't hungry for dinner and didn't eat. Then this morning I was hungry, but we had a welcome to new boss scheduled, so I just ate some chocolate (breakfast of champions), and then a big lunch. New boss actually paid for 8 people out of his own money :faint: I really like this guy (not for the free lunch, just all around). Anyway, now I am not hungry for dinner again.... Luckily no lunch plans or meeting tomorrow, so I can eat my fettucini for breakfast if I want to.

Been 3 days straight of hard work, 1 more day to go, hopefully I can sneak out by 4 tomorrow.

It's getting warmer Mony...thanks for that update even though I know it is hard for you.

You know I had that same thing. The doctor told me I must have had a pregnancy I didn't know about. This when I was trying to have just one child.

It is snowing like mad here too.

The packing.....I have never been this behind in packing. Usually I have stuff out and ready just have to put in suit cases. I have mine kind of done, Hannah's half done and nothing done for the guys. I have had Nicholas suit pants sitting on the living chair waiting to go to the dry cleaner since Christmas. Tomorrow for sure or I will not have them back. Can't take the the way they are because they are so wrinkled from hm rolling them up in a ball and putting them in the closet. He got the coat hung up not the pants. :confused3

Moo-- sorry to hear about your coworker. You are having a rough few weeks.

Moo, I'm so sorry about your coworkers. What an awful thing! I'll keep their families in my prayers.

Mony, good for you for staying on Matt's school! Go get 'em! And a day with your sister sounds like it's just what you need right now. Enjoy it.

NAB, is Nicholas leaning toward one or the other with regard to school? I'm sure you'll guide him in the right direction. As for Buddy's teeth: :scared1:!!! Wow, that's a lotta money!

Lynt, I meant to say yesternight (except the Dis wouldn't let me): The place where DD works pulled the same S*** on her, keeping her on PT status although she worked 40 hours a week, no benefits. And this is a International non-profit!!!. It's ILLEGAL!! She didn't say anything for fear they would cut her hours. Anyway, she was just made a permanent employee first of the year, with benefits, FINALLY!
Maybe you can persue something along the lines of permanent hours without benefits, therefore illegal??? :confused3 Although if CBM has no money, not sure how far that would go.

Just saw this link about the new castle show for the Memories, the whole thing, instead of just the opening. It runs for 10:41 minutes. People are raving about it in the posts, I'm still thinking Meehh.

Marita, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I really DID work only part-time (about 28 hours/week), so it's not like CBM is trying to pull a fast one on that end. Thing is, whether I was part-time or not, I contributed and paid taxes for 6+ years, and now I get nada. I got the official notice of disqualification today. They also let me know that I have to pay back the one payment I received. Greaaaaat. :sad2:

Thanks, all. I appreciate your "listening" :grouphug:

Nabbie - It does feel like a rough few weeks. I'm continuing to give my friend her space, but am really feeling like life is just too short not to tell her that not having her as my friend isn't an acceptable option.

Mony - Visiting your sis sounds like just the ticket!

Lynette - That $ucks! Fingers crossed that that window opens soon  In the meantime, I've been enjoying our games even though you're kicking my butt again lately

Thanks so much, friend. And you should know that our games provide just the diversion I need during my looooong boring days of job hunting and laundry. They're a definite bright spot! :goodvibes

Morning..

GUESS WHAT....NO SCHOOL DAY BECAUSE OF SNOWWWWWWWWWWWW

Have I told you how much this snow is bugging me...Then they are saying a major blizzard on Tuesday into Wednesday.....Hey one snow at a time please...We are in the six to ten and our GD is in the 8-14...I hate snow ...I really Do..

Ava is here and next door rug rat has arrived.......in his tennis shorts....no he does not play tennis.

My DIL reminded me to call Disney and request the same bld she requested last year..(they are not going this year)..but we like the bld facing the hot tub.....that way we look out and see if it is infested with the teens and if it isnt we get on our suits and go and relax for a few hours.....love it...MAYBE we should get one.

Waiting for the furnace man to come.....Our new furnace has a pressure release valve and it is releasing more water then we want on the floor.......geesh.....

Lynette-- is your birthday today or tomorrow? Saw on FB it says today but on my sheet it says it is tomorrow....either way.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT ONE!

Yeah. I am thinking it isn't really today. Because I would have remembered it because a year ago today I was on a pitocin drip waiting for Princess K. So maybe she lied to FB (or to us??) as a security measure ;) or maybe I was too busy having a baby to notice that it was her Birthday. Anywhoooo.

Happy Birthday Deer Friend TM all the gud spellers

Hope your year is all :cheer2: and :flower3: with time to :surfweb:between boughts of :laundy:

Moo- thinking of you and your co workers during this sad time
Marita- have a great day
Mony- enjoy your sister day/girl chat.... just what the doctor ordered!
PJ, and BBN- holla
Pumba-:hippie: we had tons of snow on Weds. At this rate the kids won't have a full week of school till April. Yikes.
NAB- get packing!!!!!

I need to be making cupcakes with pink frosting. But since Princess ONE YEAR OLD has been sick AND teething and thus not sleeping I may sit around in my jammies and watch TV and just celebrate her birthday tomorrow. It isn't like she can read a calendar. Heh.

Srsly- I need some mama advice. I have never had a kid have so much trouble with teeth. I am thinking she is teething and has a virus but she has been MISERABLE for about a week. Basically isn't eating solid foods at all whereas she was a two square meal a day girl. She ran a high fever (102) Sat night, Sun, Mon and then a low fever (99) Mon night and Tues. Currently not feverish but not sleeping much and not eating solids. Also just cranky... normally she plays and explores and unloads my tupperware for hours. This last week she crys at the drop of a hat and wants to be held but then just fusses in your arms. ALL DAY and night.

The DH thinks I should take her to the dr. :confused3 She does have a very runny nose (clear). I have been giving her tylenol... first for the fever, now because at night it does seem to help. She is congested and sounds like darth vader when she sleeps.

So.... common cold aggravated by teething and I should just keep doing what I can to make her comfortable? or is a week of misery reason to consult an MD?????

Maybe she just wants two birthdays, does that mean you go up by 2 years then. :rotfl2:

Twinkie-- poor thing. After a week I would probably take her in. But I know what your saying you have to ride out a cold. Not a nice way to spend a birthday.

Finally took the pants to the dry cleaners. She told me they would be done the day before we leave. At least I know they do it right on the premises so if they don't get them done I will still have pants to pick up. Most place send them out. Got Nicholas some more underwear and I think he is set other then throwing it all in the suitcase. I'm getting there....

Twinks: She could def. be fighting a virus and teething. She is one, one year molars, etc. Cranky could be personality. They say kids bodies change every six months or so, and it effects their personality etc. She will eat when she is hungry and i'm assuming she is drinking. give her some small ice chips, freeze a cloth to let her chew on, my Mal loved that, give her tylenol for the pain, my dr. always told me they are not concerned with a fever until it is higher than 102. She could have gotten a virus and then another since her immunity was compromised. This round of colds is taking longer to get over and it seems to be coughing and/or chest congestion. Run a humidifier in her room, cool mist if you have one.

I think you have a handle on things.

Happy Birthday Lynette.......hope you have a great day celebrating.

Today the sun is out and hubby just went out to remove the white stuff that ended up in Maine......I know .you hate to hear how much I hate the white stuff from the sky.....but I do at this point......and ANOTHER storm coming in for Tuesday into Wednesday....YUCK.

Sitting here in the sun it makes it nice and toasty in the house but low single digits for outside....Megara is in her sunbeam right now......she went out to go potty and when she came in she offered her paw to hubby to warm it up please.......I think that is to cute ...

We go to our son and dil'[s house this afternoon to baby sit the kiddos and the doggie while they go to a wedding....I am anxious to go and visit with the bumpkins.....The kids will have my visit all planned out I am sure...

Nab get those suitcases PACKED....I love that part.....packing and then rethinking of what else I need.....

Just think how fast this month has gone by....unreal...

have a good morning everyone

Hello ladies! Thank you all for the birthday wishes, both here and over yonder! I had a great birthday. Yesterday was my actual, real-life b-day. (No, NAB..I shirley do NOT want 2 b-days! :rotfl:)

Twink, I know that I mentioned last year that Princess K was born on my b-day (I actually knew of 2 babies born last year on my b-day), but maybe you missed that post. Y'know, since you were busy with giving birth and all that jazz. ;)

Big Daddy and I went to a surprise party for his aunt, who turned 50 earlier this month. She's my favorite of DH's many aunts, so it was nice to spend some time with her.

DH and the kids made me breakfast in bed yesterday! Fruit kabobs, a bacon/egg/cheese English muffin sandwich, and a yogurt and fruit parfait, with a mocha latte. Perfection! (And I didn't have to eat lunch, since I was still so full from that giant breakfast!) They got me lots of cool stuff too, not the least of which was a beautiful leather cover with an integrated light for my Kindle. :goodvibes It's good to be the queen! princess:

Washing and gettng packing done today.

Went though Hannah's stuff thinking she would be easy....not. She out grow lot of tops and skirts since summer. :scared1: She is not like her new top half that is really getting there if you know what I mean. That is why her shirts are not fitting anymore. :lmao: But we did get enough out of what she had left. I always buy bigger for her good thing which turned into a godsend. I will miss some of her really cute stuff. Now she is in the tween age stuff even if she is only 10.:sad2: Tomorrow after church have to find her a new swimsuit and cover up.

Next is Nicholas but I know I have everything for him. He is good to go. Just need to puit it all together.

That leaves hubby....He will probably wait until the day before. He too has to try on some shirts and see if they fit....

And me, I was ready to go a few days ago. I still have to tweak it a little so I don't take to much. No swimsuit is going in .....I can sit in my shorts on the beach just fine. May put my feet in the ocean and the pools.

Lynette-- Sounds like you had a great birthday!

Pumba-- have fun baby and dog sitting. Always fun spoiling the kids and then being able to go home after I'm sure.

Nab: If I can wear a swimsuit in public, anyone can. Go for it!

Just did a major grocery shopping trip. I keep telling myself feeding a family of six (with 2 being teenaged boys) and 2-3 day care chitlins a day justifies a 215.00 grocery bill. I did not buy any junk. Well, a package of cookies for day care snack once or twice this week, but the rest was whole type foods. Fresh fruit, veggies, meats, and some cereals, cheeses, juice, milk, peanut butter, paper products, eggs, bread, frozen veggies, stuff like that. Since the health kick we go through fruit like crazy, but its a goog thing!

I need to get on the tread mill, waiting for what I ate to settle a bit.

Hope the princess is feeling better twinks.

I want a kindle.

And a cruise.

and to be packing, for somewhere.

Maybe there will be a CEC conference in my future like I did last year. Remember I went to Grand Rapids and spent the whole weekend immersed in education seminars? I loved it. Plus it was my birthday weekend and its on my birthday weekend this year. Hmmmmmm.......

Hey all. I really really REALLY want to make a trip to the world - so I decided to roam around here and see if anything new is going on.

How are all y'all?

Hi, friends - thanks again for your kind words. It was a rough week, but I'm doing a little better today :goodvibes

Nabbie - Sounds like your packing is coming along pretty well :thumbsup2 Hope you have terrific weather!!!

Cel - I'm feeling the Disney bug a bit lately too, but am trying hard hold strong. I want to use my DVC points to take a mother/daughter trip to the new resort in Hawaii for Mari's 30th birthday. Not sure I can hold off that long!!! If not, I may do a short trip for Food & Wine Festival in the fall.

Pumba - It is bitter cold again in my neck of the woods today too. And it's snowing here as well, but I don't think we're in for a huge accumulation, thank goodness :)

I am actually starting to get tired of this snow. It's bitter cold here.

I never got on the tread mill, by GF texted me to bring the girls to the flip out that was going on at the local gynastics center. They get 2 1/2 hours to play on the equipment, trampolines, bars, etc for 10 bucks each. My girls loved it.

I got to sit and talk and we are trying to put together a girls weekend once again. Maybe we could use Tim's cousins place and outlet shop and visit a few Casinos. Sounds fabulous!

Cel, hope you find a taker, I wish I could go.

hello everyone..

IT IS COLD.....will be about 20 to 30 below zero tonight with the winds..so in a few minutes I will go and turn the thermostats on the two other floors.....we put them down because no one is up there.....

last night we had a great time with the kiddos and the dog.....the dog made hubby and I roar with laughter most of the night......the dog is nuts..

Tomorrow doctors appointment in the am and then another in the pm.....I HATE to have to go out when it is wicked cold....but will do..

hope you have a great day everyone

Pumba - It's awfully cold here, too. I don't think we'll get as cold as you New Englanders though! Hope nothing freezes!!!

I worked on a photo collage poster in memory of my coworker Ron this afternoon. One of my other coworkers had gathered up a bunch of photos from our Earth Day celebrations over the years (which Ron coordinated), so it made things fairly easy to put together. It's amazing what you can do electronically through Snapfish! So I had to go to the store this evening to pick it up. I had a couple copies made - one for our office and one for Ron's family. They only had one 20" x 30" frame, so I'll have to see about getting another one tomorrow.

I'm hoping my coughing settles down tonight so I can sleep. I woke up at 4 am with chills and coughing fits for almost 3 hours :headache: I finally ran a hot bath and drank some herbal tea with honey in it to try to settle things down so I could get back to sleep this morning.

Mony - Sounds like your kids' outing was just the ticket! Hope you're able to get a girls trip set. It's nice to have something like that to look forward to. I think I may be going wine tasting up around the Traverse City area with some girlfriends again over Presidents Day weekend. w00t!

Nabbie - How's the packing??! You're starting to get close to crunch time!
