Oh moo....we always try to get to the puppy penitentery too so Megara can come home early and not have to wait for the next day release time..

today is chilly.....well its cold ....darn right cold.

Ava is sleeping right now.....she was a tired puppy...I mean girl.....she crawled up on my lap and even though my grandson and his girlfriend were here ...she fell asleep.......she always amazes me.

I have to go to walmart tonight.....hate to but its a necessity.....toilet paper and nose tissue....heart burn meds OTC....maybe look for a few other things...not sure yet.

I have to order a few things for my bil's little grandkids....but they are Jewish so I have to find Haunaka gifts..maybe gift certificates to Barnes and Noble....they can pick out their own books this way......

Hope that the seas are calm for Marita and her family......:grouphug:

Pumba - We made it home in time to spring the pups! But they were a little stinky after being at the kennel for nearly a week, so I tortured them with baths, poor things!!! We made it up with treats though.

We had a great time visiting our daughter, but it's nice to be home. I'm sure she and her boyfriend were pretty glad to see us leave, LOL. Way too much eating this past week. Yikes. Time to get back to being disciplined and getting back into my exercise routine.

Glad you made it home safe and sound Moo!!

Took your advice and spent most of the day on the couch. My voice is still pretty hoarse. Now the cough is coming. :sad2:

Forgot to take Nicholas to his youth group meeting tonight. Never done that before. Tomorrow he has a test for his life guard class better not forget that one. Hannah has Guides too. Hubby will be home to help out so that will be good.

What a day. Need some prayers for my family, I just can't even imagine the pain they are in.

Just found out that my cousin's son comitted suicide, he as only 17. Pressures of a girlfriend , school and work I guess. He called his mother 15 minutes before she got home , when he finished his phone call he said I guess this is it then. They said he wasn't acting right since our Thanksgiving but really didn't think much of it. :sad1:

Keep thinking that is only 4 years older then Nicholas. We will have to sit down and discuss that nothing is that bad and things can be discussed even if it isn't with us and something can be done to help fix what ever problem he might have.

Oh, Nabbie - So sorry to hear about your cousin's son :grouphug: Sending up some prayers. And I hope you get over your cold quickly.

The 17 year old son of some good friends of mine had scoliosis surgery yesterday and made it through the surgery well, but had a rough night last night due to the pain. They said he was doing better on the oral pain meds today, but if anyone is praying for Nabbie's family, please add some prayers for a speedy recovery for my friends' son Gordon as well. Thanks!

My DD had her interview today, but I haven't heard how it went. Fingers crossed! Hopefully she'll fill us in tomorrow.

Oh nab.....I am so sorry for you and your family.......it is a tough thing to handle for anyone.
Hubbies cousin committed suicide ...long time ago ...he was a junior in high school....and his girl friend broke up with him......he died....I remember going to the funeral and all these high school boys sobbing.....very tramatic for them to see a friend end their life....very sad for all.
I am glad that you will be able to talk to your kids about this....it is important.

It is raining today.....can you believe it.....it is 41 out and raining...so warm temps and we cant go for a walk today.....
yesterday I finally decided to go to the lab at the hospital and give them some good ol' fashion pee test.......I have not gotten there in the last month and they sent me a reminder so I thought I had better go.....make sure my diabetes is doing okey there too...

Today is December 1st......Hope the month is a good one for all...:grouphug:

Pumba-- at least yours is rain. The big snowflakes have arrived. Just came in from shoveling it. It is really heavy wet snow. Looks really pretty on the trees though.

Still have to go out and get my car back from getting new front brakes. The snow tires are already on. :thumbsup2

Spent the morning wrapping Christmas presents for the kids. I feel like time is getting away from me.

Hope Marita is enjoying some warm sun and relaxation. :goodvibes

Well off to get my car.

drive carefully Nab...
ALot of people in Maine forget until that first snowfall and then they drive like
Mainiacs.....I love that word......
Its raining still.......very ugly outside...

I too hope that marita is having a good time......tonight is her last night at sea?? I cant remember......vacations and time offs always go to wicked fast

Thanks Pumba I was careful other drives are idiots and there is so much water on the road too. Going to be terrible tonight when it gets colder. Glad swimming lessons are over for a few weeks. Hannah passed and went into level 7 finally and Nicholas got his Bronze Medalion last night.

Can't believe how much brakes can cost...:scared1: Over $500. gone just before Christmas too. But what are you going to do. Kind of need them to drive safely. My guess is I wore them out faster with all the stop and go traffic on the highway.

we just ventured out and went to LL Bean. THe real store ..they had a display of two bull moose in an antler lock and omg it was unbelievable.......they found the heads and the bodies were to badly damaged so the rest of the animal was recreated...but the antlers were okey......a wonderful site to see....

I brought a coat that I got at Beans years ago...a warm up jacket and the zipper could not hold the thing that made it go up and down...so they are repairing it for no charge......gotta love the customer service there....

It is pouring right now ...it like comes and goes.....

have a good night

Nabbie - We got snow here in Michigan today (yuck!), but it was pretty light, not heavy and wet. Sorry to hear about your big car repair bill. I'm still waiting to receive the bill from some work that was done last month (done at a family member's business, so there's usually a delay in receiving the bill). It'll probably come right around Christmas  At least they're not usually in a big hurry to receive payment!

Pumba - There was a story in our local news recently about a guy who found two bucks whose antlers were locked. One died so the DNRE ended up putting the other one down. The guy who found them wanted to keep the antlers, but the DNRE wouldn't let him. It got some bad press. I felt bad for the guy who found them. Cool to hear that your jacket is being repaired! I have a couple hooded sweatshirts that both had the bottom zipper pull break off around the same time. Guess I must have washed and dried them too much! At least the top zipper pull is still attached so I can still wear them.

Wow quiet here today.

Marita are you back yet?

Got my basement all decorated and tree done tonight. Hannah is so happy . We did it while watching Santa Clause is Coming to Town. Love these moments. Now all we have left is getting her little tree up in her room. First she has to clean up a spot for it.

Next up....... cookies, next week.

Tomorrow I will have to get some more wrapping done.

I remember a time Christmas seem like it was never going to come, now it is coming too fast for me.

Yes, it was very quiet here today . . .

I'm SO glad the weekend is almost here! I'll probably decorate our Christmas tree this weekend. It's been up for a while but I've been alternately too lazy or too busy to pull out the decorations.

I finally went and worked out tonight. It wasn't quite as bad as I feared after missing a couple weeks. My trainer recently started managing a gym and is doing his training there now. I like the new place a lot better.

morning everyone.

the sun is ALMOST out...not quite but sort of...ava is sniffing the avon books and waiting for Dora to start. She just ate her eggies and sausages.....

Tomorrow we have to give Megara her thyroid pill at six am and then at nine thirty she goes for a fasting blood test.....I always feel bad for her when this happens cause she is looking for her breakfast...at least it is only twice a year.
She is resting in the almost sunbeam.......oops never mind she got up and got in the chair.....

We would like to put the Christmas tree up too but first hubby has to load the cedar chest and bring it to our daughters house. She will take it and then pass it on to Kt when she settles down. It is very heavy and a big one to look at...
So maybe sunday we can decorate the house...
I have a big stand up Mickey Mouse santa that my dil gave me a few years ago........Ava loves that one......she grabbed it and took it to the kitchen last week to eat lunch with her......I hid it for a while this week...

Hope you all have a good day and MARITA are you sleeping in and resting today.....Hope you had a great time

Still no post from Marita? Hope all is going well!!!

I had a fairly lazy day at home today - reading, laundry, and a little cleaning. Hope to get out to an arts and crafts show tomorrow.

Hi all, I'm back. Cruise was good, except DH and DS really ticked me off by going to watch football on the ship on the first day, after lunch and after dinner, and then refused to go to the formal dinner because they were still full from lunch:mad: Weather was great, island was pretty, food was good, ship was beautiful and huge. I ate a ton!! They hate the best sour dough rolls on the ship, I could live off them, and the worst coffee, DS and I decided they flavored it with whalepoop.

DS went back home today, and DD is having a great time in Europe, excpet for a bummer day in Berlin today. She bought 2 pairs of boots so far because of snow, and then one of them got all water logged. SHe wants to move to Prague now for the rest of her life :sad2: I guess she forgot about moving to Germany and marrying a German man fast, LOL.

Back to work on Monday, YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back Marita!!!

Thanks for the mini trip report. What did you do while they were watching football? Did you prefer the bigger ship to the smaller Disney one? Hope you got lots of rest and are feeling better.

Your dd is young and carefree..... wants to live everywhere.

Went to the memorial this morning for my cousin's son.Very said. All the kids wore lime green his favourite colour. They said he left no note so they have no idea why he did it. So many unanswered questions.

Can't believe there is only 20 days until Christmas. Time is ticking by fast.

Hello.
I guess I messed up and didnt post this morning..

We are having some snow flakes.......I do really hate snow.....but you all knew that from last year and the year before and the year.....well you know what I mean......

I made beef stew but cooked it in a bag with mc cormick seasoning in it......it was DELICIOUS.......but Megara didnt quite understand this concept....she usually gets to lick the cooking device if it is wiped first with a paper towel....she thinks she is getting a treat....well no mess today......I loved the flavor of this seasoning.

Did a few loads of laundry and did the dishes and ready for the week........Ava comes tomorrow ....I love this kid......I got her one of those Berenger dolls ..probably not spelt right......these dolls look like the real mccoy....so darn cute with their little faces..I think she will love her new baby.....I will give it to her in another week before she goes home...cause I dont have her for a week before Christmas.....and I do want to see her open this baby...

Glad that you posted Marita.....I am glad that you had a good food fest.....what was your favorite meal....and did you go alone to the one where your hubby and son watched the tv....???

Nab....sad story for sure.....for everyone......

Thanks for the update, Marita! Sorry your son and hubby bailed on you, but it sounds like the rest of the cruise went well, except for the poopy coffee :) I'm glad your daughter is getting a chance to travel while she's young. Mari did a bit of traveling and she really enjoyed it. I've heard others say that Prague is amazing.

Nabbie - So sad about your nephew :grouphug: I didn't get my tree decorated yet, but I found some more Christmas gifts at an arts and crafts show today. I think I finally have my two hardest people to buy for done.

Moo-- It was my cousin's son , so he was a second cousin I guess? But thanks for all the prayers.

Is it snowing there? We got a bit tonight. The kids were hoping for a snow day. Unlikely unless it really snows over night. I can't afford a snow day with them home. I need to wrap and bake some cookies.

Pumba-- the doll sounds like a great gift. Hannah is so loving her American doll she got this summer. We splurged and got her matching satin pj.s for her and her doll Ruthie from Santa.

Hannah actually wrote Ruthie a Santa letter too this year. Glad I opened it up before I mailed so I am going to put Ruthie's name on her present. I just wanted to know what her number one thing was...it still was slippers. She is getting matching slippers as well. Had to mail the letter because Santa will send a letter back saying he got hers etc. The post office has people mail these out.
