Marita...
I was just joshing ya....but if you were warmer then I am right now I would BE GLAD TO HELP...ROFL.
My sister called yesterday and they were just finishing cleaning the place up and unpacking what they brought...She is in Hernando...The place we OWNED for four months...kinda funny actually...

Everyone here...have a great day

Marita - Good to hear you're doing OK. You KNOW how we worry!

MommyP and Sandy - Love the costumes!!!

Nabbie - Rain, rain, and more rain here today . . . better than snow, I guess :lmao:

Pumba - Yay for your SIL getting sprung! :thumbsup2

Busy time at work for me this week. Had my performance appraisal today by our acting supervisor. Glad that's over! It went fine, but I was a bit tense having someone different doing it since the boss we had for many years retired last year. I always knew what to expect from him :rolleyes1

Work potluck tomorrow. I was too lazy to make anything tonight, so I'll have to figure out what to pick up tomorrow :headache:

I am so tired today and it only has started. Went to bed early last night too.

Moo-- The weather is unbelieveable here for Dec. Way above normal. I hope it gets real cold when we are on the cruise. All I will hear is the weather was beautiful here didn't have to go away, but I will be on vacation and far away having fun. Did you see the Biggest Loser finale?

Marita-- I remember my grandmother sending us gifts in brown paper and string too. Heck I even have the kids jewelery box she sent all us girls one year.

Sandy -- your dd looks so grown up now. How old is she again?

Not doing much but baking and running around still looking for something for hubby. Both of us don't need anything so it wouldn't be that big. The trip is present enough.

Hannah is in the choir and is singing Christmas carols at school mass today. So she wants me to come. I do love Church Christmas songs.

Nicholas was so excited yesterday because he got his science test back.....91 % way better then 43% on his last one. The tutor is working , I will have to give her something nice for Christmas.

Marita - I was SO disappointed when I learned Isaac was a boy. That's why I don't like finding out what a baby is before the baby is born. If you wait there is no time for disappointment. I am so very thankful for Isaac now though.

Don't stress about your tree not being decorated. We don't even have one yet. We are broke right now. It's a very minimal Christmas and the kids are just going to have to be thankful for the small 3ft. table top tree we have. Plus it's been so freaking hot and humid that Chad and I have no desire to shop for a tree or put one up.

Marita Hope things are well, and you are not working over time!

Moo so what'd ya bring? What goodies were in the pot luck? I make crockpot Baked Beans (3 kinds of bean, hamburger, sweet...) that always goes over well..

:cool1: WTG Nicholas - dd can relate - she's in honors Biology, and has been getting C's on tests (barely holding on to the A- overall) She was so determined to get an A on the test, she "pulled an all nighter" argggg One trick she said is she is now "outlining" the chapter as she reads it, in addtion to the power point the teacher does - and of course making the note cards

Meagan is in 9th grade - and she waits till 8 or 9 pm to start her homework, last night she started at 10! she fell asleep around 11pm, couldnt get her to go to bed - so I went upstairs to watch tv. She came up around 2am and YELLED at me - then she stayed up till 4am. I AM TIRED! :confused3 Finals are after Christmas -

No tree up here either - but boy did I clean a spot for it! Meagan and DH both want me to wait so they can do it with me. Fine... but really? Its getting late! :santa:

Sandy -- That would not go over well here. Homework is done either after school or right after dinner. No xbox or phone until it is done. Hubby wrote up a contract for him to sign saying he would at least bring something home to look over for 45 mins. then he can go in the basement. He is also in bed by 9:30. This is not a problem since he has to be up by 6:30 because he has to catch the bus. They gave them 4 assignments to do , two before Christmas , two just after. Exams are the end of Janurary.

Went to Mass this morning. I am never going to get the changes they made to the Catholic Mass as of Advent. Instead of " And also with you" you have to say " and with the spirit" They have also changed words in the prays and creeds that I have said for over 40 years. It is hard to change. My mom said that her father stopped going to church when they turned the priest around to face the people. He didn't like change. They said they are doing this because when the prayers were changed from Latin to the English version it was suppose to be temporary and this new version is closer to the Latin wording. :confused3

I baked Kiss cookies this afternoon and for some reason the kiss melted right down flat or over flowed the cookie. This has never happend before. Hubby was home today and was eating the ones that were all messy, he couldn't keep up.... At least I saved a few dozen and put them in the fridge to set.

I know Nab...
When they did go to English after Latin for so many years...we were all totally confused even if it was in English..

I know the new version is supposed to be better..but watch the ones that always just close their eyes and say these things to say the other one.

Nab - we've decided to pick our battles. At least she's doing homework 6-7 grade she refused and got F's, but A's on the tests... she can be a trial. Lately she comes home from school and falls asleep - she doesnt watch tv, or phone, or computer - sometimes she eats... and talks to me - but again - she is asleep now! I'm hoping to get her to realize sleep is better at night! But sometimes before a test she is so worked up she wouldnt be able to sleep anyway. She never needed a whole lot of sleep (even as a baby, she never took naps, her first months I was glad if I got a 15 min nap out of her - but she'd sleep thru the night)

Cookies - I really must bake some!

I think they tried to change the Lord's prayer- but we are creatures of habit and still say the "old way" they finally just print it that way now! At least you're not alone saying it the old way!

Nab, that's awesome about Nicholas' grade, that is a great improvement!

Sandy, not working too hard, things are kind of slow today. My new coworker and I took the boat to DTD for lunch today, so that killed 2 hours. I picked up some ornaments at the Christmas store, about 10 for $10 after discount, so that wasnt bad, just plain round ornaments with little glittery mickey heads on them. My ornaments are a total hodgepodge, no elegant theme, sigh!

The weather is still great here, I hope it holds up for Nab and Moo's trip. Last year this time it was freezing.

Nab, Port got free wi-fi as of today, I dont know if you have a phone or something, but if you do, you'll be connected. I promise I''ll do the tickets tomorrow!

Marita - Are all the resorts getting free wifi? That would be nice. Not that we will probably stay at one again. After finding out about Bonnet Creek, we can't wait to go back there. For our family it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than any Disney resort.

Hopefully Chad has a big side job coming up in a month or so...if we can pay off enough credit cards and nothing breaks down to use our emergency funds and he gets some overtime...we can go back to Disney in 2012. I'd like to go in May, it's a great month(first 1 or 2 weeks). But if we can't get the money by then Sept. has lower crowds, even though it's hotter and rains every day. Even with getting tickets through the Disney YES program and staying at Bonnet creek it's still over $2500 for our family to stay at Disney for 10 days. (we would be doing all our own meals at the resort and bringing in lunch)

We've been plagued with the sickness since Thanksgiving! No one had been sick since May when a few of the kids picked up a nasty bacterial infection at the AK petting zoo. But starting 2 days before Thanksgiving Ellie spent 4 days down with a fever and sore throat, the next week Isaac had the same. Now the older boys and myself have wicked colds and coughs. I just pray Chad doesn't get anything! It's bad enough to be sick myself and have 6 kids sick, I do NOT want a husband with a man cold. ;o)

I'm back on the diet train. I've gained 15 lbs since May. :( It totally sucks. So it's back to no sugar, drinking or tasty food in general. A good friend is letting me borrow her treadmill, so I've been doing 1-2 miles a day. Plus I've been doing my Pilates for my baby belly again.

Nab - Are you coming to Disney soon?? I miss the old days when we would all plan a trip during the same time and meet up. lol. We have to get Wendy back out to Disney soon. And I missed meeting up with Twinkie last time because my Dad's stroke.

Marita glad things are slow at work - 2 hour lunch at DTD - sounds perfect! I have a hodge podge tree too - I may even have those ornaments!! Cant wait to check out the store in a few weeks!! :cool1: (and I doubly hope hte weather holds out - esp for all those crazy Marathon runners!!) Cant imagine getting in the water - but we always think about that hot tub!! :rotfl2:

Love that Disney is going wifi - lots are hoping it will come to the parks to use their smartphones for the wait time aps!! I do hear on the dvc boards here that there are problems in some of the villas with the wifi... (connection problems)

DH just ordered me a coat from Lands end! p://www.landsend.com/gma/ GMA had a special for 24 hours - normal price for a parka down coat - $149, sale and code its just $54! and FREE SHIPPING!! :cool1:

Really sad news here- a Boy Scout, last years High School Class President... first year student at U of I - died. He was such a leader, well loved, a football, baseball and lacrosse player - again, well liked by all... Memorial will be held tomorrow at 11 at our church. just stunned. No details have been released, so there are rumors. so very sad.

sad sad when a young person dies...or anyone for that matter....but especially for the family...Prayers are going out for this family and his friends..

I PROBABLY will put the tree up tomorrow...I need to get some of that spirit and see if it helps...

Marita..where did you eat??? I am anxiously waiting for the time to fly so we can go someplace WARM...I am chilly but that is me...it is a cool 40ish out and still plenty of leaves and grass...what gives this is MAINE..we are supposed to be stuck under a few feet of that dreaded white stuff...

DId I remember to remind you all that I dont like snow...or cold...

have a good day my friends

Sandy -- that is so sad and just before Christmas. Prayers for that family.

Marita-- Hubby and Nicholas will be happy to have wi fi. Hubby plays Angry Birds on his phone and Nicholas will do FB. We can not call it though or text because we would have roaming charges.

Our tree is a mix of everything too. Lots of stuffed teddy bears and the kids keep sake stuff on the big tree in the basement. The tree in the living room is golds and bows in the front window and the one in the family room is the kids home made stuff. I miss the real tree we used when I was a kid.

Mommy P -- are only going to be at POR for three nights before our cruise. We fly in New Years Eve but won't be going into any parks then just the next day.

Pumba-- They are calling for snow on Christmas day here but not much. We are having the warmest Dec. ever here.

Nicholas test is moved to Dec 27th again from Jan 31. :woohoo: Only bad part of that is we usually do our inlaw Christmas the 26 and he only allowed clear fluids the day before this test. At least the doctor said it was alright to still go on our cruise after.

Mommy P, yes, all the resorts are getting free wi-fi, they did premiums first, then the mods and values last.
How about staying for less that 10 days? that would cut down the cost. Hope the extra work for Chad works out.
I never did meet you or Twinkie for some reason.

Sandy, I'm assuming they will do something with wifi in the parks too, but I dont have any info on that. May already be there for all I know.

Pumba, we ate at Earl of Sandwich, their sandwiches are great (they have this awesome bread). Always long lines, but it moves very quickly. Most of the time was spent taking the boat back and forth to Port. Glad your not freezing yet, I know how you hate the white stuff, LOL.

Nab, check your email....

Nab and Moo, I'm not sure if we can all meet up at the same time. I can't get in the parks on Jan. 1 because its blacked out for me due to crowds, and if you both go to the parks Jan 1, then Nab can't go to lunch on Jan 2. Just let me know what you all are doing, I'll pm you both my cell number (if I remember to turn it on). Or I could just say hi to Nab at Port.

Oh and Nab, when are you arriving? I have connections at Port, you know, let me know your room preferences (Mansions or Alligator), and I'll put in a word for you with room assignment so you can get a refurbed room, if available. It's a bit crowded that time of year , so it may not be possible, but I can try.

Oh Marita..
I LOVE EARL OF SANDWICH....my favorite is the FULL MONTAGU...and hubby loved the beef and bleu but they discontinued that one...so now he gets the original...
Our son went there with us a few years back and he can hardly wait for the sandwiches there....go figure...we have TS restaurant ressies and he wants THE EARL..
we went to the chinese buffet tonight.....Ihad a big plate of steamers and then a plate full of crab legs....*(I STINK)...hard to get it off your fingers...I need to wash them again I think...I did have some traditional food too but those steamers were delish..
Tomorrow going shopping ..hope that the crowds are low when we go...I need to get that head with hair for Ava...she loves to do hair and for a 3 year old she knows about putting on elastics too...weird...

talked to hubbies friend that is in palm Bay and he said dont tell your hubby but he had to have his ac looked at....he and hubby banter back and forth about weather........one January we were so warm and he had to call his friend and tell him cause florida was COLD...laugh at them..

Marita-- we check in Dec 31. We like the alligator rooms , anything close to the main building would be good. Which rooms were refurbed? I know it is a busy time so no problem we get what we get...

Pumba -- are you crazy going shopping on the last full weekend before Christmas! All those last minute shoppers. I will go out next week to finish hubby and the teachers gift cards.

Ugh, more snow today :( Not a lot, but enough to make driving a little slippery. I really felt the ice on one of the overpasses, but fortunately was able to keep going in a straight line! I picked up a couple more Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers today. Tomorrow is my family's Christmas dinner. We decided to just keep it simple this year and go out to eat at Outback. We're not exchanging gifts, except for my niece who is still under 18. I think I will still offer to buy my other niece's dinner though, since she will be driving in from the Detroit area.

I made two double batches of Chex Mix this weekend and finally managed to get my small tree up and decorated. But I only put my Hallmark house ornaments on the tree (which I have been collecting for a lot of years). Yay, me!

Marita - I got your cell number. I think you're right, that it's going to be really difficult to meet up with you given the timing this time :sad1:

Moo -- No snow here yet but there is a heavy frost this morning. Hope it is better driving for you today. Have fun at your family dinner. We don't have Outbacks here anymore.

Yay on getting your Chex mix done too. I made oatmeal chip cookies and my shaped sugar cookies. I was really tired by the time I went to bed yesterday because I was on my feet all day. Feeling in my hands today too. Not doing anything today.

As for Marita I may have to stalker her down since I am in the same place as she works. :rotfl:

Well I have to get the kids up and get ready for Church. Then there is Kids Club right after so that will take up some of my afternoon too. Hannah loves this , they feed us pizza lunch the kids play games and do crafts and parents socialize. Plus Nicholas volunteers so he gets his community hours for school. :thumbsup2

Howdy..
Guess what I forgot yesterday.
deodorant, and soap....and a bottle of
something ...booze...and will do grocery
shopping on Thursday LATE...so not to hit the
after supper people...'
I need a few things for our ham dinner ...

Hubby is getting the central vac ready for
hook up...I have been using one of those
little small vacs around the house...I love
my vac...we had it for quite a few years at
the old house..

Someone made an offer on the house...but
we countered with paying the closing costs..
so we shall see..

Marita- WOW, I am so glad you are ok. My mom back in 98 had several TIA's where she had would up in the hospital a few times. She is ok now, but I remember how scary that was. I thought she was drunk the way she acted. And most of you know she had triple by pass in September. She is doing great though.

Talk about sick! I have had the crud for three weeks. Broke down last Sunday after teaching catechism and went to the Urgent care, they said I had strep. Put me on meds.

NOTHING.

got worse, so on Friday I got to see my own doctor and he says I now have bronchitis. Put a thingy up through my nose for a culture, that sucked big time, gave me a shot in the rump, and then put me on stronger meds.

I sound awful, like a man. For two weeks now. I think I feel a smidge better today.

My throat and lungs are full of mucus. Makes it so hard to breath. The coughing is relentless and no one should have to endure this. I can't do a flight of steps without choking from coughing.

I managed to get two days in last week of subbing. I absolutely loved it!

I felt the teacher scheduled very little for middle schoolers to do for a sub. The elementary class I did was crazy, but the kind of crazy I love.

They were both special ed assignments. They even used me for another class on one of my prep hours at the middle school. I never thought I would like middle school, but it was fun. I had to use my bag of tricks though cause like I said she scheduled too little for them.

My family spent most of the day away from me. It has been nice and peaceful. Hubby took one to Youth group at the church they are baking cookies for a bake sale and the rest out to dinner.

Disney gosh I miss that. WE are broke too. I just need to finish school so I can get a job. I should be done by the end of 2012. They subbing will help, but pre-student teaching and my other classes will keep my days mostly tied up. So if I am lucky I can sub one day a week.

I hope to finsih the little shopping I have left to do tomorrow. I have to take care of my nephews and a few ods and ends for my kids. Oh and finish wrapping. I was doing a good job of wrapping as things came in. The tree has been up for about two weeks. We just have an artificial. I let the girls decorate it.

Sitting here watching the Lions with a fire going enjoying a Vernor's.

Hope you all have a blessed Christmas.

Nab: The changes are little compared to the over 1300 pages the priests have to learn. I try to embrace change and think of how much more real Mass is to the way it was back then. I missed Mass the last two weeks because of my cold. Plus I had to have my classroom helper teach my class today. It makes me feel so off to miss it.
