Cake Walk 101-

The set up:

A. a table FULL of cakes of various deliciousnesses.
B. A ginormous circle with numbered spaces

The Gist of it:

Everyone stands on a number in the circle. The music starts, everyone walks.

When the music stops, they call out a number.

Everyone looks down. The person on the winning number gets a cake.

Now that is a sport I can get in to! Nothing is better than cake.

Interesting. Maybe Cincinnati is just not a cake walkin type place. I can see how small children would not be tempted by such an activity. But a sport where you win cake? Count me in!!

TWINKIE- NO more cookies. It is my peep-duty to leap across the room and smack the next cookie out of your mouth...and I will. NO MORE. ;) :flower3:

No problem. I was done anyway.
Would I joke about a serious matter like cake?

Cake is serious. A cake walk is a game where you walk in circle on numbered paper squares to music. When the music stops you stop. They call out a number- if you are standing on it you win a cake (or pie or cupcakes or doughnuts or cookies). This was my favorite school carnival activity as a child.

Marita! I actually used some Arbonne samples that I have here at the house. I'm all dewy and fresh but I only look 35 and Wendee looks 29. So I reckon you better hold out to see what she's using.

Thanks, Lexi!

OK, Wendee, share the secrets with your BFF's, please????

Nab, yikes, I would live in your chaos right now. My house is chaos enough without remodeling.

Cel, you will do great in your interview!

And I don't know what a cakewalk is either :confused3

It's just over here....
Yes, you eastern time zoners are the only ones who get to see it TRULY live.

ETA: I'm glad YOU ETA'd your post Marita because I started to think (scary, I know)... you're an hour ahead of us here in the Central Time Zone BUT your prime time also starts an hour later. Where our nightly local news comes on at 10, yours comes on at 11. So, the Central and Eastern time zone are in sync on their television viewing. It's those Mountain and Pacific oddballs that are off!

Ooooohhhhh....I retract my previous statement, I wanna do a donut walk!!!!! :yay: May I? Please please please!!!!?
Utah beat me. The DH talks about mooving to Cin City but I can't live somewhere with no cake walks.
Seriously? Why?

With the sound on or off? :upsidedow
ON, of course! As a child of the 60s, I love hearing the chipmunks sing :goodvibes DH even confessed to having had some of their music on an 8-track tape :)

Yes, there is at least one hair under that hat.

Nabbie - I was toadily going to ask that question but I chickened out :lmao:

Yum on all the cookie baking. I found these single-serving size chocolate Haagen Dazs-ice cream cups (4 oz.) at the store last week, so that's what I had tonight. It's MUCH safer for me than buying the pint-size ice cream because that frequently will become a single serving for me :rolleyes1

Twink, I hear you on the skinny/fat brain theory

PJ, OUCH on that poor lady hitting the ice! :headache:

Here's what I use:

Philosophy

Sheesh, SNL isn't on here till 10:30. In a half hour. You people must be from thefuture!

Alright, I'm going to be the bigger person here and offer to take your winter. It's been warm here all week, like 75. Then, today it was about 45-50 and I was so happy!!!!!!! Have I mentioned I don't mind winter and snow? I like coat weather. None of this 70's crap for me, keep it cool. I could totally go for another snow.

Who abducted PEEJ?????????
The girl we all know and love that HATES to be cold :confused3

Wait a minute! Everyone hold on! I missed this earlier because I was busy sending my pic to Melinda so she wouldn't whine about it or whatever it was you all said she was going to do.

Wendy isn't 29?

I really liked that movie. I remember laughing a lot.

It really wasn't pretty. I could be scarred for life. As if that hasn't already happened for other reasons. ;)

Ooohhh....freaky! I kind of like that thought. I am from the future. Who wants to know what happens and who wants to keep it a surprise?

Allow me to clarify. I hate to be cold but more than that I hate to be hot. There is nothing worse than being hot. There's very little you can do to fix it. When I'm cold I get my blankets and my space heater going and I'm good to go. When I'm hot it just sucks and that's all there is to it. Also, when it's hot I can't wear my coat. And I like to wear my coat. I have my coat on right now.

PJ, DO NOT MOVE TO FLORIDA!! 87 today.

Well, maybe you could be a snow bird and live here in the winter, but you are a little young for that.
