Twink, sorry you are in tax h*** today  We have sent ours out for years after we got an IRS letter - which we were able to deal with without major problems - but it left me skittish about doing our own taxes, so we bite the bullet and pay.

Nabbie! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Sounds like you had a nice girls day out :lovestruc

Lynette, you and Pumba sure have been pounded with the snow :scared1: I'm working on :laundy: today too. And :happytv: and :surfweb: Plus I've started a book. But I haven't succumbed to reading Twilight yet.

:wave2: Hi to Cel's mom!!!

Hi Mama Celery Stalker! :cool2:

Moo- no more jury duty for 2 years. Get through the first chapter and you'll be hooked. popcorn::

Marita- no special occasion. We haven't been out to dinner where it doesn't include a McToy or on a "Kids Eat Free" night for a while.

Riley is turning 8 on Monday and he wants (really badly) some Heely's. "You'll break you neck", I tell him. He doesn't mind. And he wants a Pokemon cake...which they don't make, so I guess I'll have to. Pokeball cupcakes? Grrr.

So I just posted on a cruise line thread where other peaople going on the same trip are going. I think my kids will either kill me., or not care, or nothing at all will happen, LOL.

Just general chit chat so far, no talk of meets, although the posts were in the meets thread.

SO, to be seen.........

Gotta take care of the dog before he becomes dogstew again......... ( in my wishful thinking)

Hi Y'all. Just checkin' in so y'all don't think I fell of the earth or nuthin'. :rotfl: Been busy with DD and her softball practice. DS is having a birthday next week, and lots more softball, so I will primarily be a lurker next week. Luv y'all!

Thanks for checking in, Allie! :grouphug:

Softball in February is not doable where most of us live :lmao:

Birthday wishes in advance for your son!!!!!! :bday: party:

It has been a pretty slow day here.

Hope our other MIA people are all doing OK.

 PJ

 MommyP

 Sandy

 And anyone else who hasn't been around lately or needs a hug.

Thanks for checking in, Allie! :grouphug:

Well, it is very cold at practice here! Especially when the sun goes down. :cold: We paid an extra $15 this year for more practices and we are freezing our butts off doing it! :confused3

Thanks for the birthday wishes, but I need a little pixiedust: too because he will be turning 15! :scared1: :rotfl: His birthday is on a Sunday, so we will get to go to the DMV bright and early on a Monday morning. :rotfl: Should be loads of fun. ;) Lots of toothless people needin' their licenses renewed or reinstated. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Allie, Yikes, my sympathies on the learners permit situation:scared1: Enough to scare the beejeesus out of any mother.

Sending you some pixiedust:

Yes, especially since I CAN'T be old enough to have a child that is old enough to drive! :scared1: :lmao:

Plus neither I nor my husband wanting him driving either of our vehicles. Don't know how the poor boy will learn how to drive. :confused3 I have a BIG SUV, and DH has a new shiny P/U truck. :cool2: Guess I will have to give in. :rolleyes1

Oh, quite a dilemma!

When my daughter was almost of age for a permit, she decided to take DH's car on a test drive in the neighborhood, with her girlfriend in the car. That litlle excursion cost her another year of waiting for her learners permit!

Marita, your DD was quite the firebrand, wasn't she?!!

Glad I only had to go through the drivers training thing once, Allie. It'll be no time 'til he graduates!

Toothless people at the DMV :rotfl2: I am picturing photo time :upsidedow

We are not going to do Palo this trip, and no massages. Just checking out the ship and island mostly.

Marita, a great way to get around the island and to see Nassau is to rent a motorbike (assuming they still rent them). We did that when I went to Nassau many years ago and it was alot of fun.:thumbsup2

Moo, youth is wasted on the young, LOL!
She just went out to a club with friends at 10:30pm.

Atleast I got a pedicure today, so my toes are ready for the cruise, I need some cute shoes though (and you know I HATE shopping).
Gotta color my hair tomorrow, eek! I need Wendy!

Wendy, I'll pay you goog money, plus tip!!!!!!!

I called the cruise line today for 2 things:

1) change the fact that I was listed as a US citizen. No idea if that makes a difference, but just to be safe. I AM legal, after all.

2) To ask about proper dress code for dinner. Answer was, 2nd night is dress up night, no matter which restaurant is in you rotation. Hmmm, ok.
Is that just to make you feel important or what? I don't quit get it, but whatever........

I think I decided that cute sandals and maybe a cute shorts outfit is all I need. Only 3 days, after all.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Joe

I think I would be scared to death for me, my family and other people to ride a motorbike, LOL, but thanks!

I read many posts saying to just stay on the ship, but of course that won't happen. DD wants to "explore"

Marita -- you will have a formal night, that means very dressy even if you are in two of the dining rooms that are less then formal looking. :rotfl: Other wise a lot of people wear capris or dress casual the other nights, mind you will have a spectrum of clothes in the dining rooms. Just no jeans or shorts. Dress pants and shirts are fine that is what I wore most nights and formal I wore a bit more fancy but still pants.

We just finished watching a movie. It was bad, it was called Joshua. I should know better then to rent a thriller. We also got Snow Buddies for the kids. They like that.

Moo -- have you got that recliner broken in now?

Allie-- you can get a license at 15...here it is 16 not looking forward to that.

Exploring is fine, just make sure you do it during daylight, and if any of the street vendors or the ones that line the cruise ship piers try to sell you stuff just say "no thanks", almost all of what they sell is junk.

Also if anyone in Nassau offers to sell you any drugs most likely they are undercover cops and will arrest you as soon as you buy anything. This has been going on since the got their independence.

Joe, thanks so much for this warning, LOL.

Now if you had warned me about buyng alcohol, (wait that sound strange, youknow what I meant) I might have been in danger, but luckily drugs is not one of mine or my families vices. But I do apprecirate the warning.
I am thinking I will be back on board sooner rather than later.

Thanks, Nab.
I think I will wear black dress pants and heels with a red silky shell and jacket for dress night, and the same dress pants with less dressy blouses the other 2 nights. That should work, right?

Yep, Nab, I like that it rocks as well as reclines :goodvibes

Much more comfy than my old chair for napping. Hubby thinks the back support is better than his old chair. The puppies are finally getting used to jumping up onto our laps. It's a bit higher for them, but they can do it when they're motivated to come get a treat :) Or a scratch on the neck (Sukie loves that).

I washed the puppies' bedding today I need to give them baths, but am holding out until it warms up again.

Our neighbor called this afternoon to see if we had a dog on the loose. Sukie is quite the escape artist, but they were both inside when he called, thank googness. Apparently there was a Scotty dog in the neighbor's yard. Our road is busy, so I hope it got home OK. Our previous dogs used to run over to play with his dogs once in a while. I hope Sukie doesn't go wandering that far - we'll be replacing the fence and fencing in a smaller part of the yard this spring :rolleyes1

Last edited by Minnie_Moo : Today at 11:47 PM. Reason: Get some shorts, Marita, when you shop for your sun hat!!!!!!!!!! Night, all.

I hope it sunnier tomorrow, to entice me to go shopping. I invision a big straw hat, and I need sunglasses and that elusive short outfit. Just hard for me to feel in the mood to go shopping when it's dark and dreary and raining outside.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Oh a cruise sounds lovely! Good way to score some drugs, I hear ;)

I'd go for the 20,000 calories per day mandatory and the hot rock massage. I need a neck/back rub pretty badly, though too. Heck, I'd just have to get the "I can't decide package"

Our big date is over and I'm just waiting for Saturday Night Live to start. Me and Jordan watch that and Mad TV every Sat. Night. It's our thing.

We had a fun time, for reals.

Part of our date was shopping for Riley's birthday present. He's turning 8 on Monday and ALL he reeeeeally wants is Heely's (skate shoes). It's what he asks for every single birthday and Christmas. I always tell him he'll break his neck, in a "You'll shoot your eye out" manner. So I'll just tell him if he breaks his neck and is in a coma, don't come crying to me.

Hi Allie sweetie! So? Do you like Scrabble? :rolleyes1
