I mentioned to hubby that I wanted to go snorkeling with the family, but he expressed grave doubts that I would actually do it ( I am claustrophobic), and it would just be a waste of money. And he is probably right. And I have no desire to go for a swim. And I can lay on deck or in a hammock in shorts and shirt. And read without getting wet And if all else fails, I can buy one on the ship with my 35% discount.........

They have an Internet cafe onboard (for pay of course, so I might check in for a few minutes sometime. But I am NOT checking work emails!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not going to do Palo this trip, and no massages. Just checking out the ship and island mostly. Plus poor hubby will be coming home at 10 am from a shift that started at midnight (for your enjoyment, folks, for Flower and Garden festival) so he will be most likely be passed out the first night.

That won't stop the kids and me from exploring though.
I am looking forward to it

So I just walked to the other room, where DH and DD are watching a movie, and started saying:

You know if you go to order a soda from a bar.......... (you have to pay, which I never got out)

And DD says, yeah, go to the 9th deck, it's free (how the heck does she know this?) She has never been on a cruise before either!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I decided to read some cruise trip reports today, and the first one I clicked on started like this:

I was late discovering the DISBoards site (only two months before our trip was to start) thank goodness or I probably wouldn’t have a job. As it was, I spent the better part of this summer keeping up with our cruise meet, and reading tips and trip reports to get fired up for our vacation of a lifetime. I dedicated an entire week to reading Sleepydoc25’s epic trip report, and came out with a goal to try to match that performance.

If you missed it (and have a lot of spare time on your hands), Sleepydoc25’s trip report is a very entertaining read.

WOW, talk about a trip down memory lane............ so many old friends posted there.

I agree that MGM (now DHS) can be hard to get around in. But my hubby still considers t his favorite. Our daughter wasn't with us on our trip in September - that was a photopass picture

I am so over sick kids. Mal is still sick, on her 2nd antibiotic, had a fever through the night of 104, coughing like there's no tomorrow. She just can't get a break. Oh and while Tim had all four kids while I was at school, she pukes in his new car.

We deliberated for no more than 5 minutes. NOT Guilty. Course we joked that when I was to read the verdict, I was going to do the double finger-gun shot at the defendant with a big fat wink...so I sort of maybe held in a little inappropriate giggle. Allegedly. My co-jurors were really funny folks so I had a lot of fun!

Hey ugys!!! I am doing my taxes and repeating over and over the following:

I am thankful to have an income so we can pay taxes. (report the earnings in box 6 and the percentage of foreign holdings in box 7 divided by the price of tea of china adjusted for the global warming rate)

I am thankful for all the changes we weathered in 2007. (job loss, selling old house in buyers market, moving, new house with Minnesota Twins curtains, new BABY)

I am thankful my computer is working. Because my slide rule is in the shop.


Is it working? do I look calm and serene? I am here wasting time while I download adobe reader (fresh new nakey hard drive) so I can read the IRS's instructions because I am totally confuzzled over the circular and nonsensical instructions in ****well known tax software****. The funny thing is I had forgotton that DH worked across the border for a few weeks during the job bruhahaha. I remembered the job and was even anxiously awaiting the W-2 but somehow I spaced that it was in a different STATE misery so there is a whole 'nother kettle of tax fish. Bleck. Yuck. Ack.

I have do mine too, or convince DH to ship them out this year for the first time. But then that costs money (like for cute new shoes and/or a bathing suit).

I have to leave in 10 minutes for a pedicure, I am leaving everything behind in favor of "it is better to look good than feel good" Toes should hold up well till the cruise. I am taking the Twilight book with me to the pedicure.

We are being bad Diser's for the cruise I am afraid. No plans at all. Just explore the ship and wing it. I suggested booking the Nassau tour, but DD said NOOOOOOOOOO, I dont want a tour, I want to explore!
And lots of people on the cruise boards say, just stay on the ship.

Oh well, I shall see how it plays out.

I now have four games going at a time. I don't even know where my well worn Scrabble Dictionary IS! I've been hunting around in the attic for several days, to no avail.


We got 8 more inches of snow yesterday. (Pumba...help!) Despite the icky weather, I managed to get a new 'do, get some baking done, clean my house, seriously wound the laundry monster, and spend most of the afternoon playing board games and doing puzzles with Boris and Natasha.

I finally feel like my old self again. That headache was a hard one to shake.

Took Hannah to a birthday party today, found out it is tomorrow.... Good thing it wasn't at someone's house but at Airzone. That is a place with a bunch of jumping castles in and a huge slide. The guy there looked it up for us and said that it is tomorrow. But he said Hannah could go play( with out paying ) as long as she wanted since we were there and said he didn't want her to be disappointed.

We stayed a half hour and then went to the mall. It was a nice girls afternoon. Hannah tried on a few things but came home with nothing, even though she probably wanted everything she tried on. I love a jean jacket she had on and it was on sale but she didn't. I can't pick her clothes anymore...

So we didn't get to celebrate hubby's birthday yesterday will do that tonight. He took Nicholas snow boarding since we had the party.

Marita-- some are over the top on the cruise board. I don't see you decorating you door, etc. They do have wine tasting though some where. I am sure you will the time will go fast and you will want a longer cruise, unless you get sea sick...

I think the last time I picked colthes for my kids was when they were maybe 6 or 8, LOL!

Hubby's birthday, eh? What are yous doing for him?

Twinkee- Turbo Tax is that what your not saying? That's what we're using and it's pretty (sort of) easy-ish. But you've mentioned a whole buncha monkey wrenches into the equation. Lucky thing you totally paid attention at Math Camp all 4 summers.

We just "spint" a goodly portion of our tax return (received yesterday) on sheet rock and insulation. Thus, the framed in basement will start looking more and more done. We're doing the basement (minus the craft emporium) in Timber Lodge/Cabin/Wilderness Lodge style. Paid off a few bills and made the house payment and car(s) insurance for the year. BIG load off our backs.


So? I have a kidless DATE tonight for reals. A babysitter has been bribed. New shoes where even bought. It's Dinner and Dancing...but one of us NEVER dances. He can watch my purse. But the dinner part should be lovely.
