Hope everyone is having a GREAT Valentine's Day!!!

Very busy day at my house. DW woke up early to get her Valentine Cards done for her class (she is student teaching 6th grade this term). Also today is our youngest's Birthday - he is 14 today! I can't believe it!! My kids are making me old.

We are having a very small party - our family, plus my Mom and her husband will be here (total of 8 of us). I am making his favorite for dinner - enchiladas, refried beans (from the can) and Spanish rice. My Mom is bringing the cake and ice cream - I think she is getting one of those heart attack chocolate cakes from Costco.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!!!!

What a great day! Frijolles from a can? I love Costco cakes....have you seen the chocolate one with the chocolate bits all stuck to the sides....mmmmmm!



I've spent most of today trekking through the snow to the various animal shelters and humane societies in the valley to post lost dog flyers for my FIL's lost dog.


This morning, DH and I made chocolate covered strawberries.... I love those things. Plus it's practically a fruit!

Last night for Zach's party today at school, I made heart shapped cookies. Then we dipped them into chocolate. We called them half and halfs.

While we were at it, we dipped pretzel rods and strawberries for today.

I had 2 of the strawberries and 2 of the pretzel rods.

Total.

Why did I bring chocolate into my house?

...nabby...i'm sorry for your lost. [ i can imagine...how
important..you are....jus by all the kindness you give..us daily.]

... i think death, is scary..to all of us. however, the alternative..is
jus as bad. [ i think some times...i have all things in life figured out..
then whamo...i'm right back...where i started from..& it's those times
i go....& ...my lil'miss sweetie pie. ]

..i really enjoyed ..expressing..some of the things..i 've learned
over the years. mistakes,..for me it's ongoing,..but i also hope...
it was observed ..."even though by accident"....it was required
learning..to do my new job ~ {20 years ago}....& how much
corrective measures..can over come. that is, how could i expect
clients..to take anything i said seriously..if i didn't do it? yo kno?
when..i talked..about using "i'm sorry"..it was something taught
growing up....that's all i thought i was doing...@ work..then to
"see"..how important its message..was to others...you jus kno
its a good thing...* also, awarness..is ..the first step..to recovery...

& why it's sooo exciting...making lil'changes..that can improve
anyone life..wow...i like improving...& so i am always..listening what
clients' feedback..can do....* almost, all of my interventions..were
obtained..from ...those clients..20 years ago. life..if you 're
motivated..toward learning you are headed toward..accomplishing..
whatever goals..you have set for oneself. i don't see that as
being a bad thingy.

soooo , dear teachers, don't think "showing"..your pupils....they are
improtant..to you...is a waste of time. those lil' efforts, may be the
very thing...they will always use..to accomplished world~changing
feats.

*we are ..in the process of training..alot of new nurses. we can "see"
their reactions...but it is also...sorta...alarming..that the "BASICS"...
are "news"..to them...what should we expect?..from our schools '
preparation classes? yep, i can't say..how important..our schools
are..especially the teachers!

dear pumba..that is a very cool song! however, it dosen't surprised me,
that it's one of your favorites.

..oh, backstage gal, , [we "see" those things..all the time.
it's good..that your family..recognizes..the reality..and working
toward higher..goals...becos.i believe..thats produces real hope,
making all things...possible. @ work..you might be surprise..how many
patients..accomplished...amazing functional feats...jus becos.."we"~
staff..expected it! ]

Little bit of laundry and a little bit of house work and the day is almost gone...well at least until the kids come home.

Lexi-- yes my uncle did die of a heart attack and all his kids are grown. They have their Christmas's in community centre the family is so big.

Thanks everybodee for the Birthday wishes! Their birthday was yesterday for all the stalkers out there (social security numbers will be posted on a separate thread-ha)- it was just midnightish when I posted plus the whole time zone thing. However we are still in full birthday swing- returning shoes (too big), wearing new clothes and dividing our time between making homemade ValenTimes and playing with the loot (all of which was pink).

Valentimes day with the little people was an adventure. I got sooo much candy!!! We let them open their valentimes at the end of the day and have candy and cookies and then sent 'em on their way! Parents appreciate that, right? The Martha Stewart mom of the class made adorable heart shaped sugar cookies with frosting in cute little containers for each kid. And the teachers got 2 cookies!

Wow sounds you mothers of young kids were very busy with the activities for the day. Glad those days are over for me. I don't think I ever baked anything, but I remember doing the cards and sweetheart candies.

DH got a call from work at 7pm, he was already fast asleep. Some valve broke at MGM,flooding some area around Fantasmic. Where is the shutoff valve???? DH says we gave Maintenance a map ages ago, it used to be posted in such and such place. Not quite sure where they left off, except hubby is waiting to hear what they find.
So he might have to go in to work soon, or just loose a few hours sleep.

Yes Martia the kids came home high on sugar. Cookies, Rice Krispie squares and a ton of chocolate. We have looked at all the Valentines a few times tonight.

Nicholas is growing out of them though. I think this will be his last year. We gave to everyone and he got 7 out of 24 kids. Plus one candy gram from cupid...meaning we have know idea who sent it to him but he is tickled pink about it. They sold them at lunch time to sent to the class rooms

I got the sweetest love note from a blond haired, blue eyed, very handsome little man today. It said " Dear mom, you are the best mom in the hole world. I love you infinity and thats a lot. XOXOXOXO Riley" It was on a sheet of heart shaped lined kid paper mounted on a red construction paper heart.

Now that's a bigger treasure than a 3 ct. flawless diamond ring and I'm feeling more blessed than humanly possible!

My hubby redeemed himself a bit today. I am slowly getting out of my bad MOOd. Also, I decided that I'm probably taking tomorrow off work even though I have to get up earlyish for a doctor appointment.

Tonight I called and left my DD a Happy Valentines Day phone message since I didn't get a card out to her. Hope she was out doing something fun.

Marita, you can lure your DS over on a regular basis before he leaves by fixing one of his favorite foods each time you want him to visit!!!!!!
