MOOved Along . . .

Hi, Cy! Work didn't suck too much today (for a change).

I went out to lunch with a couple coworkers, so I guess that helped break up the day. Someone who works on our floor opened up a fair trade coffee shop recently that also serves sandwiches, soup, and desserts. I tried the reuben panini and it was pretty decent. I'm not a coffee drinker. I am missing that gene, I guess. But I'll occasionally go to coffee shops for a hot chocolate or food.

Hopefully your kids are just going through that surly phase! My DD is pretty close to her dad. Well, and me too, actually. But I guess it depends on the phase of the moon sometimes ;)

Cy, the teen years will pass.

DS and DD went through the color hair green, orange, blue phase.

DD 23 is spending more time at her BF's house than at home where she "technically" still lives.

But they really DO get easier to get along with eventually, there is hope!!!
Probably mostly because they are away from the parents:rotfl2:

Fair Trade is taking over my life.

Night, Moo.

Night, Cy.

Night, Marita. If you're still here.

LOL, Moo, about that phase of the moon thing. My daughter totally adores her dad:love: , me, not so much, but I get an occasional "I love you , mom" I take what I can get , lol! DS is much closer to me.

Night, PJ!

Moo, I had an easy day today too. Went to a long lunch with boss and colluege from sister resort, we pour over the calendar for the next year for over 2 hours. Got back at at 2:30, chatted some with knit freak and boss and collegue, and then went home. Lovely day! (depressing part was that it went till January of next year, when the whole cycle starts over again, and i have been doing this way too many years)

So I went home at 3:30, and logged on to work from home. That is when the email that induced the almost washing face with toothpaste entered my day. So I worked till almost 9 (with breaks though).

I am thinking of putting a retirement countdown in my sggie too, UGHHHHHHHH.

Marita's right, Cy! Things should get better.

Just wait til you reach that age where your kids start thinking you and your wife are pretty darn smart after all :rotfl2:

Night, all.

oh, general warning,

I don't knlow if this is true, but I heard it a couple of times on the radio today

About the "TAX REFUND"

Anyway, I heard it was going to be a "pre-refund " for next year. So say you got the $600 back this year as "refund" you have to pay it back next year, so your refund ( or due payment) would be adjusted by that amount.
But then I don't think it has made the final legislative hurdle yet, just something to keep in mind and an eye out for.

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Although it is not sunny...actually it's 27 and raining. But. On the up side....there's NO SCHOOL! :woohoo:

There wasn't going to be school for Mimi and Em anyway. Mimi stayed home yesterday and I got her a 1ish appt at the dr. Then Em calls from school about 12 and says she needs to come home so I just took them both. They swabbed Mimi for flu and Em for step....both negative. The dr. says there is a nasty respiratory virus going around that looks like the flu. So we are treating symptomatically....Mucinex D and I threw in a Benadryl last night to get the lil darlins to sleep.

PJ....I can tell you're feeling better! I saw they were predicting 4-8 inches of snow for Covington/Cincy. Did you get that much? And...What are you allergic to? I'm allergic to penicillin and DD is allergic to Ceclor. RE: grandma...did she get to have her surgery?

Cy...Locked in your room to get away from the mean ole teenagers? My oldest is 18 and spends waaaaay more time with the boyfriend that with us. I have to *schedule* a home cooked meal to lure them in. (You gotta have the boyfriend too or it's a no-go!) Now DD has decided she wants to be vegetarian so I'm going to have to look into my homecooked vegetarian cookbook. DD14 is always here but tends to complain about any food that is readily available at home. She prefers that I pay $7 for a turkey sandwich from Subway than go to the store and BUY $7 worth of turkey sub ingredients so she can eat for a week! Coffee at home??? NO WAY! Starbucks is just down the street! Thank goodness for DS7. He still loves his momma.

Lynette....The Other Boleyn Girl is pretty good so far. Anne Boleyn is the sneeky, plotting sister and Mary is the innocent, in-love-with-Henry sister...and we all know how this comes out. I love period pieces but it's not as compelling as the teenage vampire novel. (I can't believe I just typed that.) Re: Spiderwick....the movie web site is great. DS has been playing on it for a coupla days.

Celery....I am HOOKED on driving around Disney! We used the car a LOT last trip. It's especially convenient for driving to DTD and the water parks. Also we like to eat at the resorts and it's a quick drive to get there. We even ate at the Poly then went to the MK and then took the monorail back at the end of the night.....sweet. The only thing about driving is that it takes 2 days off the trip. And I hate driving the whole way myself...like last time. But I also hate flying. ACK!

Sandy....You're right...I've been trolling the transportation board for tips on renting a car. You can stack discount codes at National. I remember ZZUB posting a picture of a PT cruiser he got for $150/wk with codes from Mousesavers. $150 is worth it.

Marita....Toothpaste!? :scared: Now surely your cat will come back when she gets hungry. Our cat adored the dog (God rest her soul) and she is sorta lost without her buddy.

Wendee....I may be available for a 2010 trip. Here is my secret plan... this year I take Emily for free dining. Next year I take DS on a cheap vacation with no dining...just me/him/jar of peanut butter and some crackers. Then of course I have to take Mimi on her own vacation. But. My goals are to somehow work in the Flower & Garden show (probably in early May with Mimi since she'll be out of school before the other kids) and the Christmas lights (probably with DS before he outgrows me.) I'll need a lil economic stimulation plan EVERY year for all those trips to happen.

I'm sure there were lots more lengthy replies I wanted to make but I can't think of them just now.

EVERYBODY....:wave2: (Where've you all been???)

HERE'S HOPING YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL, FREEZING-RAIN-FREE DAY!

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!!

snowday.gif

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

I am strongly considering going back to bed. :cloud9:

Lexi....yep, we got the snow! It's still coming too. Looks bad out! I'm glad I don't have to try to drive in it. I had a really bad accident 2 years ago when it snowed involving my car spinning and going crazy and it still scares me to drive in the snow. My grandma is not going to have the surgery. We're moovin on from that idea, it was too dangerous. And I'm allergic to penicillin. That was a lot of questions. :rotfl:

My bed is calling.

morning everyone..

sun is out for a few.......that is what the weather guy said.....I like to see it and Megara likes to lay in it.......to funny to see her on her back with her feet in the air......not a bad feat for a 60ish lb Dalmatian.......she is beautiful though.....last night ...well 1:30 am ish ......she tried to push me out of bed again.....so I went to the bathroom and came back and still could not budge her......THEN a miracle happened......the college kids were coming back from the local joint and they were talking LOUDLY and Megara had to go and investigate....so I jumped and threw my body over to my regular area of the bed.....MY SIDE.......she came back and sat on my head......well I did not move..she eventually sat over a little more and we both had our space..

today I go for my booper squishing exam......it is really a good idea to do this.....my dd;s mil had one last november and they found a tumor that was cancer.......so I will go and have my squisher done and know it is good to know this .......YEARLY

Is it a problem that my snark level is used to determine how I'm feeling?
:rotfl:
Ha! No. You are little L. Which means you take after big L.

So, whith all that said I went into my room and am Dis'ing.
Smart man!

Your secret plan sounds good to me!
I need to see WDW at Christmas too. Hmm. Maybe this year? ha. yeah right.

I'm still too young for this. Which is good, I guess.
Have you ever posted a pic of Megara? I always forget she's a dalmation.
I picture a lab normally when you talk about her.

PJ, I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but you did not have to fake hives and difficulty breathing just to emulate me.

Hi guys. Sup?:cool2:

Morning All,

P.J.-- I only heard you call my name this morning. It must be the snow you have muffled it....:lmao:

I am cranky and tired. I feel a cold coming on too.

Sandy-- I was on a glass water boat too in Jamaica. It is pretty scary and are the locals that run them. Did you do Dunns River there?

Cy-- no teens yet but my 10 year sure acts like one.

Marita-- great idea you had last night about the internet. Hope you can get more updates that way.

Moo-- May is going to be here before you know it. Are you buying a new to wear for her graduation?

Celery- glad you are planning another trip.

Love another trip to WDW but I want my new kitchen too. Which is causing great stress around here. Money wise and decision wise.

nab - I climbed dunn's river falls! woo! it made me feel powerful! course, ben had to help me through a lot of it.
but I still did it, dagnabit!

It was scary for me Celery because I don't swim. But it was pretty cool. I was just glad we survived the bus ride there. Crazy drivers over there.

That was our last trip we had before the kids came along. Wow time flies.

You may take them in whatever order you prefer. ;) And now you probably hate me because that probably took your computer 18 years.

Hey, at least you heard me! That's a pretty loud screaming voice, all the way to Canada, wouldn't you say? Not that my roommates have ever accused me of being a loud person. Like in the morning when I'm getting ready and I'm on the phone and they're sleeping. Or at night when I'm watching tv and laughing and they're trying to sleep. :rolleyes1 Wait. Why are they always trying to sleep????

michael buble looks thin in that pic! the times I've seen him before he looked kinda chubby.
