anybody up for an early, highly interrupted chat?

(as soon as I post this something will happen I KNOW)

currently all is quiet on the western front however and the DH is working so....

Twinks, thanks for the invite, but I can't. DH and I are about to go walk the dogs. I have to go walk of dinner. :rotfl2: Actually, the dogs need there walk since they won't be able to in the AM due to all the rain.

HELP! DH is obsessing about the voting results. He keeps flipping channels: CNN, MSNBC, local channels and the major networks. The results are giving him angst, which he is inflicting on me. He won't stop talking about the media's spin on the candidates, and how the poll reporting is skewed, yada yada yada....Ugh.

Someone make him stop!

DtD!!!!!! It's Thomas! :teacher:

Now, what's MY middle name? Here's a clue, it's one of 3 given to females in 1967.

I voted and have a sticker to prove it. Yessiree. Did y'all see the results for Utah???? I'm entertained.

Geez, I SLAVED over that Debbie Downer clip for hours. :rolleyes1

LJ- Just hide the remote batteries next time he takes a potty break. First ply him with fluids though, This works better than trying to pry the remote out of his fingers. Wife of the year.

Yes, I voted too, and got the little check mark sticker. I even wore it to the fancy schmancy restaurant tonight. :cool2: Actually,

Is your video still not working?

Good night all, since the DIS is about to go down. :wave2:

GOOG MORNING?

I awakened to sound of the howling wind and rain last night and then the emergency sirens went off. Tornadoes warnings.

By the time the sirens went off the wind had calmed down but still scary! Sounds like many people were not so lucky. 31 died last night.

I'm actually watching the news this morning....very rare. But lots of school closing due to storm damage. Looks like WT's girl Hillary did well last night. And John McCain is looking like the Republican candidate. Is his wife's ponytail a little too tight??

Hey, Wendy!? Did Mitt Romney win Utah??? I'm betting your middle name is either Ann, Beth, or Lee. Or is it Lou? ;)

Marita.....They make you PAY for uniforms in the AF????

DTD...I already knew your name too. Will they bring back soccer?? Looks like we'll be at WKU for the state speech tournament. DD qualified last weekend. I haven't been on campus in ages. Can't wait!

NAB
....Pankcake Day? Never heard of it. I am in the middle of a huge Catholic community too. :confused3

Moo.....No pooch-keys here. There was a King Cake on the kitchen counter this morning. I've already had some. :)

PJ....How's Grandma?

Everybody else
.....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!

Morning!!

I'm having laptop problems, and dh is always using his laptop for work! :sad2: or DD wants it to play some Pirate of Caribean game!

Wendy - LOVE your advice!! :thumbsup2

Ali - really you dont have to walk - just send the dogs out the back door by themselves :rolleyes1 have a seat on the couch.... really!! :rolleyes1

NO SCHOOL TODAY... again!! :rolleyes1 our town is the one they are using to prove it really is going to snow!!! :rotfl2: (not sure why Chicago has a camera but no reporter up here!! lol)

No pooch-keys for me!! or King cake, or pancakes... I did make chicken wing piquant - YUM if you like parmesean cheese and a touch of fennel...

I too am tired of hearing all the spin on the candidates.... I voted for the "underdog" candidate here - I want to see a race to the end!!! I thought it funny you can vote for a candidate, then pick 5 delegates - and you can mix that up... so I can vote for Obama, but vote 5 delegates vote FOR Clinton!! (or vice versa, or any combo 3 Obama, 2 Clinton etc...)

curiouser and curiouser!!

I cant stop sneezing - must be allergic to this morning!

Yeah, Sandy, gotcha! ;) Nope not gonna keep me down. I think I will have some pretty good numbers to post Friday. :cool2:

Melinda - We had that same weather. Had to wake the kids and bring them to the bathroom downstairs when the TV weather man said that a tornado was on the ground less than a mile from our house! :scared1: Luckily nothing serious happened here. Just dd has been up ever since. She should be pleasant at school today.

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!
gm5.jpg

I haven't posted in a whole day BUT I read back!!!! :scared1: I KNOW! I woke up super early though, so what else did I have to do??

BBN...I thought about your question a lot. I decided you're supposed to pick up the hitchiker if you live in middle of nowhere Indiana because most likely it's a relative and they'll be a little ticked if you don't. If you live in the ghetto of Cincinnati, most likely it's just a guy in a stinky hoodie so probably not. I'm being totally serious. NEVER smartastarstar. Nope, not me! Hope that helped. :goodvibes

Monica...sorry about all the illness. Yikes! How's everyone doing now?

Twink...funny that you should mention hazard pay because I tried to convince the people I babysit for last night that I deserved hazard pay. The dad got home early and proceeded to attempt to do laundry. It was so ridiculous it was funny so I took over for him. And then I requested hazard pay...hey, someone could SO have gotten hurt there!

Utah...not gonna lie, I didn't watch the video because I really have to be moovin along now, but I did open it to watch when I get home! And I've seen it before, but not since working for Disney so I'll definitely give it another shot.

Marita...congratulations on DS physical! :woohoo:

Lexi...thanks for asking. :-) She's getting a pacemaker and something that starts with a d today. Oh I don't know. Color me PJ. (not to be confused with the new LJ)

What's up with the whole pancake day thing??

:rotfl:

Hey- Monica- why is it bad to be sick on Groundhogs day? does that mean you will be sick for 6 more weeks????

Exactly!

We booked our airfare yesterday. So we are NOT driving to WDW in December.

Weird you are talking about Tornados. I dreamt about them all night. Glad you are ok.

I am not coughing every 30 seconds, and we can keep a tissue box to last a whole day, but I am so tired. It's a physical tired I can't explain. DH has been around, working out of the home, but if I need him to do anything he will.

I sweated through 3 outfits the other night, he had to wash the bedding and he made it all up and I decided he does a much better job than I, so it's now his official new job.;)

Morning y'all.
My family is safe, but I'm not sure about the rest of Middle TN.
I know Ben's church was completely leveled.

I really want to watch the debbie downer video cuz I've never seen her!
but I don't think it will work here. hmm.
maybe it will.

Yes, but only to throw the poor guy a bone. I really do like him but think we do better with a Democrat this time. Which is funny since I'm supposedly a Republican. I think he also won Michigan (thanks MOO!) and Colorado.

Superficial reasons why this pseudo-Republican doesn't really care for McCain:
1. if you close your eyes and listen to him, he sounds like Ross Perrot. A little.
2. He has a stiff upper lip made out of clay or wax or something
3. his wife. I wonder how he'd faire if his Starter Wife was clapping beside him? She is adorable though. Are you SURE it's not his daughter?

Are you OK??? Did you know any of the folks killed or hurt? OH MY GOSH I was worried about you! Shheesh! So the sirens basically sounded after you all realized the danger? Huh?

Not Ann, Lee, Beth or LOU (:rotfl2: ) which is short for both Lucille and Louise but close. But is a nickmiddlename of mine.

What is a pooch-key?

your Welcome for the advice. But I forgot which advice I gave ;:headache: If it's "man advice," RUN from it!

I totally just got over this too. Kicked my bum, it did!
I only cough now when I'm slapped in the face with the freezing cold air or if I attempt to run.

Morning all,

Snow day here but like I said our schools don't close and the walking kids still go. I just think of it as a big play date for them, crafts, computers , library and gym. Lots for them to do. They can't teach lessons because so many kids are bused. And they are not here driving me crazy....and stealing my computer.;)

Lexi ,Allie and Celery -- that sounds pretty scary. Glad your families is safe. Wonder about Donald?

LJ- Just hide the remote batteries next time he takes a potty break. First ply him with fluids though, This works better than trying to pry the remote out of his fingers. Wife of the year.

Batteries out...check. Can I get you a cold beverage, DH? Gotcha. Thanks, Utah. :thumbsup2

BTW, about 70% of the girls I went to school with had Marie as a middle name. (Myself included, although it's not my middle name anymore.) Is your middle name Sue, by any chance?

BTW, Part Deux, John McCain is a RINO (that's Republican In Name Only). Oh, and Mitt won Massachusetts too...for all the good it'll do him. :sad2:

DH is not happy about the turnout last night. He and I are members of the tinky-tiny (TM Natasha) group of Republicans here in the Bay State. Talk about a minority!

LilL, I'm with you on the hitchhiker. Too scary! :scared1:

Sorry about the scary weather and illness plaguing some of you. We're on our third day of torrential rains, but otherwise things are fine here. Today is the 30th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, which dumped up to 54 INCHES of snow on this area in 2 days. There were 15-20 FOOT snowdrifts when all was said and done. :scared: We had a week off from school and most of the state was shut down too. Yikes!

Lynette you were just a baby in '78 weren't you how do you remember the snow banks.....

I do not pick up hitchhikers either. Too scary.

Ha, NAB! YOU are a good friend!  Let's just say I have a reeeeaaalllly good memory, and leave it at that, 'kay? :rotfl:

I totally just got over this too. Kicked my bum, it did!
I only cough now when I'm slapped in the face with the freezing cold air or if I attempt to run.

So, you started this?

I just want to find a position to stand, lay down, sit, where it's not gonna cause me to choke cough to death.

Rolling over in bed is the equivalent to running a mile on the tread mill to my lungs.

I tend to cough until I see black spots.

Yeah, Sandy, gotcha! ;) Nope not gonna keep me down. I think I will have some pretty good numbers to post Friday. :cool2:

Also glad y'all and Celery (the Today show was at the TN College - :scared1: that was hit by the tornado! )

paczek or punchkies I guess they're called - anyway THEY ARE donuts - filled donuts... fruit filled donuts... very traditional around the Catholic Polish people - all the grocery stores carry them on Fat Tuesday! (so you heap up on the fat food before you 'fast' or give up stuff for Lent")

Monica sorry about the ickies - but woohoo on giving your dh a new job!! :thumbsup2 I got my dh to do the kitchen!! (he's doing dishes now!! he likes the dishes in the dishwasher a certain way, he likes to do dishes by hand... so 26 years ago I figured it was a goog job for him!! :cool1: )

1978 Blizzard, Muncie IN, college... girls dorm. I was lucky I lived in the dorm with the food cafeteria, the girls in the dorm across the parking lot had to walk in groups of 4 or more - you sit at the window and watch them try to come across one or two together, WHAM that wind would knock them down - they would hold elbows and cross - and they closed school - they never close Colleges classes in middle of IN!! 1978 they sure did!!

Wonder if I should get dressed? hmmm maybe not yet....
