Moose & Goose- The 5th anniversary is the Dis Trip Anniversary- Baby Update #2 5/1

How on Earth did I miss that post!?!?!?
The biggest news ever... no... EVER AND I MISSED IT????

congratulations-hi.png

Thank you all very much for your comments! I appreciate them. I've found myself super anxious and nervous- noticing EVERYTHING lately.
I'm about 50% nervous, 30% anxious, 10% scared and about 10% excited.
Is that normal? I'm expecting for about the next 9 months and 18 years will be that way.

Narrator: In this episode, we find the stars of our show both embarrassed, but for different reasons. Why? One is forced to ride a "horse"-- of which both are embarrassed and one is mistaken for someone else... embarrassing!

After we had checked out the room and Moose was in better spirits now, we decided instead of going to a park for lunch- because we were already hungry- to go the Whispering Canyon down stairs.

We went and they sat us nearly immediately. We had eaten here before when we had come with his side of the family, but it was nice to come just the two of us.

We had on our anniversary buttons, so the waitress said "I guess you're going to want to sit together." :rotfl2:
Here's our table...

Here's our view:

Neat medal lights:

Our drinks came in big Ball jars. And yes, it is Ball jars... they were made by the Ball brothers, who founded and started Ball State University- of which both my husband and I are alumni.
Anyway- we decided on an appetizer of chips and various dips.

dips: in the yellow cup: fresh salsa - this was my favorite- not hot, it was fresh because the onions and peppers were crunchy, not stewed beyond submission.
in the green cup: your usual nacho cheese dip
in the orange cup:venison chili (a little spicy for my taste-- but good)

When the waitress came to give us the chips & dip, she saw that Moose had drank all his soda, so she asked him if he wanted a refill, he said yes please.
She came back with this.

He wasn't even "super" thirsty-- just his normal thirsty.

For comparison purposes:

Although he was expecting it (because as I said we had been there before), the table behind us did not and they were all laughing... the waitress said "yer next ya varmints!" Of course everyone laughed.
The chef came out to meet someone and on his way to their table he YELLED "OH MY GOSH" and came running over to our table.
Apparently because he saw Moose's Green Bay hat (and probably his build)... he thought he was a player.
He came over and shook Michael's hand and the Chef told him he was a big far on the Packers... Michael said "Well thank you, so am I."
And the Chef asked him how long he had played for them... he and I looked at each other puzzled... and then I giggled.
Moose told him he didn't play for them he was just a fan.. and the Chef just kind of looked embarrassed and apologized for the confusion and went on to the table.

Our food came- Moose ordered the cheeseburger with an egg on it:
(Chuck Wagon Angus "Bacon and Egg" Burger - with Tillamook cheddar and Chipotle ketchup $17.49)

I got the fish & chips:
(Fried Fish and Country Chips - with a spicy tartar sauce and sweet potato fries $17.99)

Of Course we asked for ketchup... here, when you ask for Ketchup, they bring you enough so you won't run out... so... a TRAY FULL OF KETCHUP!

Then... they yelled out that it was time of the "rodeo". Because it's usually a kids thing... and there was only about 4 kids in the restaurant, the waitress came and got me and told me I had to participate or I wasn't gettin' any food!
Sorry it's fuzzy-- the waitress took it.

As you can see, several adults were recruited too.

We had to go all the way around the restaurant... and they were hooting and hollering the whole time....
What was my husband doing? Taking black mail video on his phone and sending it to his family. The waitress caught him:

When the waitress and I got back to the table, Moose had drank THE WHOLE JUG OF SODA!
The waitress acted p.o.'d... she said "It was a joke... you weren't actually supposed to drink all of it! Dang!"
So, he got a "fast pass to the bathroom".

While she was there, I asked her if I could have "a little refill" because I knew I couldn't drink a jug that big!
... she came back with this for me..

which is about half the size of a normal one... which turned out to be perfect for me!

After lunch, I went to the bathroom-- he didn't need to... what the heck?!

Then we decided to go to parts of the WL that we'd never been to.
Like, the little sitting area above the front entrance... here is the view from there:

There is also a door that leads to a balcony above the entrance outside... I didn't know that was there! We went out to check it out. Standing looking out toward the parking lot:

Turning around:

At this point it was about 2 p.m., so we decided to take the boat over to the MK for a little while.
On our way to the boat dock, I took these pictures. Don't worry I only took 180 more the next morning!
The quick service meal place:

The pool:

The boat dock:

If you're standing on the dock and you look to the far left, you'll see the monorail:

We didn't have to wait too long... The boat!

I'm at my picture limit, so I will end it here. Thanks for joining along and for all of your comments.
See ya real soon!

Odd.
Somehow I missed this.

BTW, sent you a PM.

We had on our anniversary buttons, so the waitress said "I guess you're going to want to sit together." :rotfl2:

:lmao: Good one!

Here's our view:

Nice. :thumbsup2 I love WL.

Some day... some day...

Our drinks came in big Ball jars. And yes, it is Ball jars... they were made by the Ball brothers, who founded and started Ball State University- of which both my husband and I are alumni.

Interesting.

So you're saying you each had a ball.

in the orange cup:venison chili

OMG! Rudolph!!!

When the waitress came to give us the chips & dip, she saw that Moose had drank all his soda, so she asked him if he wanted a refill, he said yes please.
She came back with this.

He wasn't even "super" thirsty-- just his normal thirsty.

I don't know what's funnier. The trough of cola... or Moose picking it up and drinking out of it. :rotfl:

Next time. Go with it.
Ask for something extra special from the chef.
Ask for an upgrade.
Ask for a limo.
Or a jet.

Our food came- Moose ordered the cheeseburger with an egg on it:
(Chuck Wagon Angus "Bacon and Egg" Burger - with Tillamook cheddar and Chipotle ketchup $17.49)

Sounds (and looks!) good.

Of Course we asked for ketchup... here, when you ask for Ketchup, they bring you enough so you won't run out... so... a TRAY FULL OF KETCHUP!

It was different when we were there.
When we asked for ketchup, a couple of kids brought them from their tables.
When somebody else asked, our DDs lugged them all over to them.

the waitress came and got me and told me I had to participate or I wasn't gettin' any food!

Whoa! Threats! At Disney!

That woman in pink is gunning for you Rebecca. What was my husband doing? Taking black mail video on his phone and sending it to his family.

So.... how much has it cost you so far?

When the waitress and I got back to the table, Moose had drank THE WHOLE JUG OF SODA!
So, he got a "fast pass to the bathroom".

:rotfl2:

While she was there, I asked her if I could have "a little refill" because I knew I couldn't drink a jug that big!
... she came back with this for me..

You got a really good server!
I've heard some stories where the server (at WC) has been a dud.

After lunch, I went to the bathroom-- he didn't need to... what the heck?!

Real men can hold it.

On our way to the boat dock, I took these pictures. Don't worry I only took 180 more the next morning!

Oh, good.
I was getting worried.

I'm at my picture limit, so I will end it here. Thanks for joining along and for all of your comments.
See ya real soon!

Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

Breaking up a couple –or- a surprise “apology” gift

When we last left off, we got on the boat and took it over to the Magic Kingdom.

Boat selfie!

Because we had NO agenda, I asked if we could go meet the big cheese and his little lady! Moose begrudgingly agreed. We went to the meeting area in the town square area.

In the waiting area to see Mickey:

I'm not going to lie... I had butterflies. I don't know that I've ever actually met Mickey himself.

We only had a 10 minute wait to see Mickey. And when we saw him, I asked him if I could kiss his nose... and he said yes!

The two of us with Mickey:

Then we went to meet Minnie. I had a few post cards for her to sign, which she willingly did... and I sent those off the next day as a thank you to our travel agent and someone else.

However... those pictures did not show up on our photopass! So I have no pictures of that meet.

Then, as we made our way down Main Street, we saw the Dapper Dans!

So we decided to go to the Haunted Mansion. I got to spend a little more time in the fun queue.

This sprayed us... which I didn't know it did the first time around.

The stretching room:

Then we did the Little Mermaid ride again... we both really like it… which is evident by the fact that we rode it probably 15 times while we were there.

Because we had ridden it before and I took video, this time I just took a few pictures.

Still can't get the crab game to really turn out:

Scuttle telling the story before the ride:

Aerial conducting the music:

Then we went on Buzz Lightyear again… I took a quick picture of the queue… because they had removed the black curtain that was there the day before… and the line was moving quickly, so it’s kind of fuzzy.

Then we decided to go on the people mover again… oddest thing ever… apparently this traffic cone is a VIP because it had a car all to itself.

Yet another feet picture:

Please, do not dance while on the people mover.

A lovely view of the castle of this beautiful day.

Also, they had already put up the Halloween decorations. I like this one with the candy apple and lollipop.

As we were leaving to go back to the room, we saw they had put up a big wall around part of the ticket entrance… I’m guessing they were upgrading for the magic bands.

A picture of the train depot as we were going back to the boat dock.

On our way back to WL it started to rain… apparently we left just in time!
Remember how I told you that we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our room after they lost our reservation?

Well, there was a little something as an apology in our room, waiting for us.

Cookies and milk!

Moose took a nap, while I sat on the balcony and called to check on things at home. Then I took a shower, changed clothes and got ready for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

Because I only have half a billion pictures from that, I’ll save that for the next chapter.
Thanks for reading along!
See ya real soon! :hyper:

Those are some nice looking cookies. And with some ice cold milk! Yum! Hope they were as good as they looked. :thumbsup2

I have your postcard in my scrapbook. Thanks for taking the time to do that!

[

I am soooooo happy that they sent the milk and cookies - it was such a disappointment that you had the issues with your room! I loved the post card - it is sitting on my desk - thanks for thinking of me!

And by the way - congratulations!!!

Boat selfie!

Apparently, 'selfie' is the word of the year for 2013.

Yep.
Beat out 'twerking'.

Oh, wait! Does this mean we get a video post of Moose twerking?

I'm not going to lie... I had butterflies. I don't know that I've ever actually met Mickey himself.

I have not.
I have, however, met a few of his cousins...
They didn't fare as well, though.

Might be due to an allergic reaction to mousetraps, though.

Cutie!

uhhh.... you. I meant you, not the mouse.

Although I guess he's cute too.... otherwise why were you smooching with him?

I had a few post cards for her to sign, which she willingly did... and I sent those off the next day as a thank you to our travel agent and someone else.

I knew I should have forwarded you my address...

So we decided to go to the Haunted Mansion. I got to spend a little more time in the fun queue.

HM. My fave attraction.

And I have yet to see the new queue.

Then we did the Little Mermaid ride again... we both really like it… which is evident by the fact that we rode it probably 15 times while we were there.

15!?!?
You really did like it!

Then we went on Buzz Lightyear again… I took a quick picture of the queue… because they had removed the black curtain that was there the day before…

I wonder what that curtain was all about. :confused3

Then we decided to go on the people mover again… oddest thing ever… apparently this traffic cone is a VIP because it had a car all to itself.

:lmao:
But doesn't it look smug to be riding in its own car?

Yet another feet picture

but of course.

Please, do not dance while on the people mover.

Some day, I will ride this.
With a family member.
And I will say this line.
And they will think I'm brilliant.

Well, there was a little something as an apology in our room, waiting for us.

Cookies and milk!

Nice!
Did Moose feel that made up for the original delay, though?

Then I took a shower, changed clothes and got ready for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

Next time, remove the clothes first, then take a shower.

Trust me on this one.

Because I only have half a billion pictures from that, I’ll save that for the next chapter.
Thanks for reading along!
See ya real soon! :hyper:

Looking forward to it!
Thanks for posting, Rebecca! :goodvibes

That jug of soda is ridiculous! I could never drink all that! :rotfl: Looks like a fun meal.

Love all your pics from MK. And who doesn't like the Daper Dans?

Glad you got your chance to meat Micky and a 10 minute wait is pretty great.

Fun updates!

I'm glad you liked it so much! You are very welcome!

sounds like a great day! what fun!
It was a fun day... we did some stuff, but also got to hang out and not be on a schedule. It was nice.

I'm glad you still have the post card, you're welcome. I wasn't expecting anything from them from the delay. The husband was more upset about it than I was. And.... thank you.

Great pics! :)
Thank you! I only took like 100,000 pictures while we were down there! :)

First- yeah, NO video of Moose twerking... that's NOT going to happen... sorry.
Second- I put up a thing on here saying if anyone wanted anything from WDW that I would be happy to send it to them... and you didn't say anything... tisk tisk.
Third- Yeah, the traffic cone didn't' act all "oh yeah, I've got my own cart.. I'm so cool"... it was just chillin' and it was nice that it wasn't so down to Earth about it.

That jug of soda is ridiculous! I could never drink all that! :rotfl: Looks like a fun meal.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised that the wait to meet Mickey was so short! It was VERY nice... plus it was air conditioned! Also, he blinked which was crazy. I've never seen a Mickey that actually did that.
It was nice to get to listen to them sing for a few minutes, since we weren't on any schedule.

Oh my! I've had a lot of catching up to do!

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! How very exciting. Some things are just meant to be and I'm sure you are super excited/nervous about that first doctor visit. (I used to work OB/GYN so I had the pleasure of watching my patient's bellies grow!)

That was too funny about the comment from the hostess at WCC - "I guess you're going to want to sit together." :rotfl2: The Packer fan in me approves of Moose's hat! (even if they did get eliminated from the playoffs my household is still die hard fans.)

That's too funny about the ginormous mug of soda. Goodness, I'd not be able to stand in any long lines anytime soon after doing that.

What cute photos of you with Mickey.

First- yeah, NO video of Moose twerking... that's NOT going to happen... sorry. Second- I put up a thing on here saying if anyone wanted anything from WDW that I would be happy to send it to them... and you didn't say anything... tisk tisk.

Well...

First. Aw. You sure?

Second. I guess it's just not in my nature to ask for things.
So is that a fail on my part? (Which, apparently, is not the word of the year).

So, I think I forgot a few things last time about our time in MK before we went to Hoop Dee Doo.

We went on Pirates (again)-- which was a walk on (again)... my favorite scene:

Then we went over to BTMRR which was nearly a walk on. We only had to wait for 1 train.

Once we got off of that, we decided to go over to NFL. We went in Gaston's because Moose wanted a bottle of water... and while we were in there, no one was sitting in Gaston's chair!
FINALLY! Picture time!

Then we went on Under the sea AGAIN!
While walking through a gift shop, trying to find gifts for our neice and nephew, I saw this... and while I didn't actually get it, I got a picture!

Then we went over to Space Mountain- which was down. What does that mean?!
TWICE in ONE trip we road the people mover through Space Mountain with the lights on. Who gets that lucky?!

And because we could, we took the people mover around one more time, and sat on opposite sides this time because every time we had ridden it, we sat together.

We did a little shopping on Main St. and came back to WL around 5:15.

So--- after we had gotten dressed, we checked the weather to see if we should take our ponchos. It looked like it had stopped raining... so we decided to leave the ponchos in the room. Our reservation time was 8:15… and we left the room around 7:30.

We went down to the boat dock and took the boat over to the campgrounds, where the Hoop Dee Doo REVUE is.

We had about a 30 minute wait. We called our parents and stood outside where everyone else was standing and waiting. I thought I heard thunder a few times and started to get nervous.

When they finally opened the doors, we got the table right as you walk the doors... the very back of the house. It was just the two of us.
Our waiter, Bob, brought us a pewter bucket of salad (which already came with Italian dressing on it and some cornbread which was pretty good (no where near as good as Boatwrights thought)... and butter as an appetizer. Drinks were all you could drink (included in the price)... AWESOME! I had sangria and Moose had Yeunglings (anyone seeing a pattern here?)

The view from our seats... and our waiter who happened to step right in the way at just the wrong time.

We were given a menu-- and this being our first time we were trying to decide what we wanted to eat.

When Bob came back to our table, he took our drink orders and then he explained to us that it all came and you could eat as much or little as you wanted.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!??! OMG! :scared1:

Of course, about that time, the stagecoach pulled up outside with the performers... who BUSTED DOWN THE DOOR behind us!

We enjoyed a part of the show, until they brought out the food.. I LOVED the ribs! The chicken was good- it's fried chicken- but it doesn't taste homemade. SO glad I didn't have to chose what to get! The beans I could have done without a little bland... but the corn- I SWEAR it's drenched in butter! (but I'm NOT complaining)

I don't think they stood still for more than a few minutes through the whole show:

Even when they were singing and telling jokes they were moving around.

We really enjoyed the part where they make fun of the states where people come from.. that was pretty funny.
Then, they did birthdays and anniversaries. Oddly- everyone clapped for everyone's anniversary EXCEPT ours... what is that about!? 1 year, 7 years, 14 years, 20, 25 and we had a couple who had been married 55 years! Okay, I can understand applause for 1 year and 25 and definitely 55 years-- but for everyone BUT us?! That was a little rude.

Then a little duet in the middle of the room:

Here they were re-creating the legend of Davy Crockett (I think):

When you're done (we had one bucket of everything except the ribs- we had 2... and we had several refills!) they bring strawberry shortcake... they brought one for us to share... which of course was way too much because we had eaten so much.
Then, at the end they bring out washboards for you to play the spoons on... and then sing along with them.
Me with our washboard:

We needed to be rolled to the boat dock because we had eaten (and drank) so much!
We got back to the room late I had stopped and taken more night pictures of the resort outside.
Can you see the "bear's face"?

A better angle of it without the water fall.

This may not work... but when we got back to our room we could see the fireworks from our balcony. Here's the video of that.
<embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid812.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fzz41%2Fmrsrebeccabennett%2FWishesfromourbalcony_zps4bc59b91.mp4">

Stay tuned! Tomorrow is our last real day... we go on every ride in the MK that we didn't get to on the "do it all" day... and some that we did... and we eat at a place neither of us have been before.

Thanks for reading along!
See ya real soon!

I love hoop de doo! It's such a fun show.

I am so surprised no one clapped for your anniversary. You're right - How Rude! Seriously?

Love the night time pics from the WL. So pretty!

I showed my DD19 your pic from Gaston's with your DH in Gaston's chair. I wanted that pic so bad when we were there, but another family was sitting in the chair, just chatting and enjoying themselves. Didn't they realize that it was a photo op? I needed that pic of myself in the chair! Obviously, I survived the disappointment. Like I need another reason to return to WDW....
