Moonlight Magic Registration Issue

I'm anxious about the Moonlight Magic registration for Animal Kingdom because we are in this exact same situation - blue card DVC members (100 points purchased resale in Jan 2020 and 200 points purchased direct in Jun 2021) but we are actually staying in July on our friend's DVC points - because we are letting them join us and stay for free on our points for an upcoming trip in Sept 2022. I'm paranoid that the system is going to deem me ineligible to book MM, even though we have a resort reservation - because we aren't staying on our own points.

There have been reports in the past that DVC does not allow reservations on rented points to count for early registration.

Not sure how it worked for the last one or not.

I think all that’s required is a reservation for a Disney resort, not points usage. We’ll be at SSR on an inbound RCI exchange and were eligible and successful for early registration for DHS.

For some reason, owners with actual DVC rentals had issues foe the first set of events. Don’t know if it’s still an issue. But they were treated differently than even inbound exchanges.

So frustrating that there is no consistency. I’m a blue card holder, however my reservation for the event was made with transferred points. I registered with no problems for June event. I checked with the person I transferred from and she confirmed the points that were transferred to me were blue card points too…come on Disney let’s figure this out!

What I think they should do for consistency...won't be that popular...but is only allow those with DVC points reservations made using qualified memberships to count on the early reservation day. No cash stays, no rentals, no inbound exchanges or even those in an unqualified membership. Transferred points would still be allowed since those keep the trip in the membership.

Everyone else gets a shot during a general reservation date. If one has a different type of reservation on one of the dates, they would then be eligible for more than 4.

But there will never be enough spots for everyone who is at WDW with a reservation to go, so it makes sense to me to keep it pretty simply....if you have something booked on a your membership, you get first dibs.

i did not try for 5/10. My only MM event was at TL in 2019. I hope to get in for AK in September.

I hear ya! I definitely learned my lesson on that. I completely understand there won’t be enough spots for everyone. My frustration was I had enough of my own points to book my July trip and used rented points because I was told that I would be eligible for the resort only reservation date by member services.

According to the rules under “know before you register” a member renting another members points does not qualify for early booking

I don't get the emails and have trouble registering as well. (Blue card) They really need to assign some people to work on this.
