As long as you purchased direct from DVC, you can try to reserve a spot when registration starts. If you are eligible, you might get an email the day before booking starts. Some get the emails, some don't. If eligible, you can register even if you don't get an email about the event.

Not to my knowledge. I have done 2 in a year, and over 3 years hit all 5 WDW ones.

I hope that hasnt changed as I will be there for a HS one in Sept. I think I will jet set it for the 3/3 MK one, fly in the night of the 2nd and out the AM on the 4th

So it has been a few years since we went to a Moonlight magic event. Is anyone familiar with the newest rules? We are staying at Fort Wilderness in February and we are staying with another family. I was really hoping we could figure out a way for 8 of us to go. They have a separate reservation at the Fort. Does anyone know if I add their names to our reservation and they would be allowed to go? This will be their first time to Disney so I was really hoping there was a way to get them in.

According to the fine print, members are only allowed to register for one event per park. So for example, you could do one AK and one MK but not two MK.

I’ve never done one of these before due to travel dates, but may have the opportunity next year. Are these extremely hard to get into, usually? I remember reading about the flurry of people trying to get in on registration day.

We have a split stay planned that falls on one of the Hollywood event nights. We check out of our direct purchased resort the morning of the event and into our resale purchased resort the afternoon of the event. Anyone know if we will be allowed to reserve for the event when it opens to people with reservations? Not sure of the rules around “blue card” reservations and non blue card reservations.

It should not be an issue, as you do not have to even be staying at a DVC resort, just on property. As long as you are eligible that is all that matters.
Then again, thats assuming systems work properly.

It's usually 4 total or up to the number of people on your reservation.

That would make sense (just could not see a hard limit at 4) - particularly with DVC rooms that sleep 12. But that or # on ressie would fly

Wish we could but we are getting on a cruise ship the morning of May 3! I have however just figured out we could make a quick jaunt down for the Hollywood Studios event on October 6. DH really wants to check out Star Wars Land and our May trip will only be 1 day so we are doing MK. Sure would be nice to attend the event in October but we do not have any specific plans to be in Florida at that time.

Anyone gone down just for this event? Are they "worth" it? I know worth is in the eye of the beholder but would love some opinions.

We had a similar stay, where the event date fell on our resale membership - I just called & they added my direct membership number to that reservation. we got the email & signed up without a problem

Well, time to convince DW to do a short trip to hit a MK event.

Depends on cost of transport I would say.
I can get a airfare for 130 per person for the 3/3 MK one. Need 2 nights at probably all stars. I'm doing it.

I have done 1 at each park.
HS - 2018 - Line for slink dog. Everything else was walk on. Literally rode the RRC 10 times in a row. hit everything, waited maybe 20 minutes for Slink Dog. - Great experience. SWGE will only enhance it. I got lucky and there is a HS one on my fall trip - totally psyched!

MK - Jan 2018 - Sunday night in January, and it rained some. Hands down as close as I will every come to having the park to myself. SDWT was under 5 minutes, and that was the longest line.

AK - 2017 - Sept. Pandora was still too new. When the park closed, FOP still had a 3+hour wait, so it had a negative impact on MM. Did the Safari in the dark, not very exciting, but was cool to hear the hippos who are loud at night. Everything outside of FOP was walk on.

2017 - Dec. Epcot - To me the part where MM is not exciting. Juts not enough attractions to make the exclusivity worth wild.

2019 - Sept - TL - fun to visit the WP since i normally dont have that on my AP. Lines were not long, but things were not walk on.

In all, I would say, MK, HS - worth it. AK - borderline Epcot and TL - pass - (I mean going out of my way for them - if I am there I would do them again)

They changed it. Number on reservation or 4. For the DLR MM there were a bunch of members who are mad because since they are not staying on site they are only allowed 4 so have to leave kids home or whatever.
