Moonlight magic questions

New to DVC and would love to try one of these! The august 10 date at TL is 2 days before our planned trip. Considering moving the trip up a bit so we can go. It looks like you can’t actually book the event until about a month before so I’m wondering what availability is like? Is it pretty easy to get a ticket or difficult? Are there special characters out for MM events? We are a family of 4 but are traveling with another family of 3. Can they be our guests to the event? Thank you for any info!

It is luck of the draw. You log on at the required time and are randomized into a line. Then they give out tickets until they run out. My husband and I both logged on last time (within 20 mins of each other)- I got 1500 and he got 7300. I was able to get tickets and then he logged off so I don't know if he would have gotten any.

Getting tickets to the Moonlight Magic event can be hit or miss. We have received tickets almost immediately when reservations opened but have also been on hold for 45 minutes waiting in the queue. Are your guests on your reservations? You will only be allowed to get tickets for the number of people on your reservations. Good luck.

I will note that getting tickets to the waterpark MMs is typically easier than getting into any of the park-based events.

You can get only 4 tickets, or tickets for everyone traveling on your points/staying in your unit. You cannot get extra tickets for people on a cash reservation in another room if you're staying on cash, or for people in another room paying their own way.
