Hi I hope someone can answer couple questions about Moonlight magic for me, I've searched the boards but I just don't understand. I will be going to a moonlight magic event in 2020, I already have a room booked on points that sleeps four. We have two contracts one resale and one direct, we are both on the contracts as primaries owners. We both have our own blue card

Here are my questions

Looking at DVC web site it states
A Member can register themselves and up to 3 additional guests per Membership (for total of 4)—or up to the number of guests on his or her Resort reservation, provided.

So does that mean my wife can register three other people and I can register three other people for a total of eight or are we limited to just the three for the both of us

The way we get to seven people is we will get a pop century room also for our trip. Do we have to link this room somehow to DVC and if so how.

When I go to register for the event will I have to do it twice, once for each room or how does that work

Three of us will have AP passes, but four will not they will have to buy tickets for their stay. If they only plan on going to the event that day do they need to buy a ticket for anything.

Thank you for any and all help you may provide in this matter

You only get 4 people per membership number not per individual member since you and your wife share the membership. You and your wife are on the same membership number, so no double dipping. Even if you have 2 eligible member numbers, you can only use one for the 4 guests or up to the number of people in a room, or so I read from others in the past. I haven’t personally tried this with more than one membership number, but others said it didn’t work.

Thank you for the reply, just so all understand correctly even if we get the second room at pop we can only have a total of four guest go to the moonlight magic event.

My understanding is that they will only use one room for the reservation. It would have to be the room where you and/or your wife’s name is on the room reservation. They won’t let you put the same person on two rooms either. Maybe a workaround would be to have one of your names on whichever room will have more people in it to get the most MM tickets. However, then that person’s MB won’t work to open the DVC room and will only work at Pop if that is the room with more people.

ETA: Can you add some of the guests at Pop to your DVC room? Are you staying in a 1- or 2-bedroom unit? Maybe add the kids, if there are any, from the other reservation to your room.

It will only allow you 4, unless you have a room booked, with more guests listed.

So, if you need more than that, then you’d have to be in a DVC studio or 1 bedroom that sleeps 5, to get 5, Or, a 2 bedroom that sleeps 8 or 9, or a GV for 12,

All guests have to be registered on the reservation at least 48 hours prior to the date you can try for tickets. Any changes after that date will lock you in to 4 guests,

When you register, you enter your member number, and somehow it is able to see what reservations you have, how many registered guests, and that those guests were added at least 48 hours prior.

Thank you both for the responses.we are staying in akv value 1 bedroom ,have no more point this year (do not want to Borrow from next year as my adult children cannot plan that far in advance for a vacation because of their jobs that is why I was going to get a room at pop so I could cancel it at the last minute. But once again thank you both for the information I now think I understand it

To get more than 4 on one membership, everyone needs to be in a room. Everyone in one room/villa can go based on one membership. If the single room holds > 4, all can go based on your membership, whether it is booked with cash or points. If you have multiple rooms booked on points, not cash, everyone in multiple villas can go. I am actually bringing 15 to one with just one membership, but I have two 2br villas booked on points.

If booked on points, yes. I would also call ms before the booking day to confirm they have everything squared away in they system.

To add detail, you do not need to be on the reservations for the room, but you do need to be there in person to get the wrist bands on the day of the event. So you can’t in general book it for anyone, just your guests you are physically accompanying at the event.
