Monthly Payment Plan question

Ok, I have looked over the ticket sticky and couldn't find the answer to this specifically.. :surfweb:

If I were to buy a pass (seasonal) and put down a larger than required down payment - say $180 instead of $102 (or whatever it is currently).. Will this lower my monthly payments or will it come off of the end.

I know a friend went and paid an EXTRA payment and it came off the end, which is fine and good. But I am really just hoping to lower the monthly payments I will have for DD3 and myself, and I won't be able to save up the FULL amount for two passes by time we plan to go..

TIA

From the Monthly Payment Program page at disneyworld.com:
At the time of purchase, you will be required to make a down payment. The remaining cost of your select Florida Resident Annual Pass will be split into 12 monthly payments that will be automatically billed to a credit card that you provide. The first monthly payment will be charged on the day that you sign up or shortly thereafter.

Yes.

The unpaid balance is divided into 12 equal payments. The last will probably vary by a few cents due to rounding.

Once the contract is in place, you may make additional payments, but those are taken off the end.

Hope this helps from the FAQs....

Annual Passes – Frequently Asked Questions

Q.
Can I pay more than the required down payment for an Annual Pass when I use the Monthly Payment Program for Florida residents?

A.
For online purchases, only the required down payment (in the amount equal to the price of a non-discounted, single-day, one theme park ticket, plus tax) will be accepted. However, you can make a larger down payment in person at any Walt Disney World Resort theme park ticket window.

In addition, you may pay off your balance in its entirety at any time without penalty by calling Passholder Payment Services at (888) 701-4100. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

You can also pay at the ticket booth of any theme park in Walt Disney World Resort or at Downtown Disney Guest Relations.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I assumed it would work out that way based on what I've read but wanted to be certain so I can plan accordingly.
