For the last year, we have had a monthly crop at our church. We have a CM consultant that comes in and does it. We are in need of food ideas. We average between 6 and 15 people and are there from 6 pm - midnight. What are some of your suggestions?

Are you looking for meal ideas or snacks???

M & M's are great cuz they meat in your mouth and no chocolate on your pages.

Anything that you can put in a crockpot (like meatballs) and use a fork so your fingers stay clean.

Veggies and dip if you can eat away from your pics.

Not sure what else.

Really looking for supper ideas.
We meet in a church fellowship hall so there is plenty of room to eat away from photos. The catch is getting the food there. We can't use the kitchen for cooking (gas everything! and church prefers we don't use it) so it has to be things that hold up well traveling. Unfortunately we have gotten into the pattern of pizza, subs, pizza, subs- so we want a change.
We do use a CM consultant (she is wonderful!) and she provides the food as part of our fee - just looking ideas to suggest. The crockpot idea is a good one. Any others?

First of all...... I want to live near you!! I've never been to a real "crop" with others. I'm tired of scrapping alone!!!

Anyhow.... how about a salad bar idea.... a large bowl of mixed greens and lots of smaller bowls of salad toppings. Be sure to include protein items, such as cheese cubes, pepperoni slice, bean salad, bacon bits, hard boiled eggs, as many people don't care for the idea of "veggies only" for dinner. If you wanted to give your CM a "month off" from the food responsibility, you could do it as a "pot luck" salad bar!

To elaborate on the crockpot idea, you could do fondue in crockpots..... cheese fondue for dinner and chocolate fondue for dessert!!.......Hope this helps..................P

We do basically the same thing, except a couple of years ago we suggested that the CM cut her fee and let everyone bring a dish or two to share. We do potluck and it's always fabulous. The ladies enjoy showing off new recipes and we always have tons of really great food. Also it's no big deal if sometimes someone is pushed they run by the store for chips, dip, or some other store bought goodie. We had 22 ladies last night at our church social hall and the food ranged from meatballs, taco soup, chicken salad, several other kinds of salads, and tons of desserts. It's a blast and takes much pressure of the CM too. We used to pay $10 a person, now we pay $5. Good luck - we've be together for about 5 years and are going strong.
