Hello everyone!

For those new to us, we are a group of people who are planning to participate in walking/running events throughout the year. For most of us, the ultimate goal is to train and compete in the annual WDW Half/Full marathons. We'll also be posting news and training for various other events throughout the year. We range from beginners to triathletes. Come join us, whether you're training for an event or walking/running for fitness

Don't be afraid, shy or whatever to come here and just post up anything. You don't have to know us right away, or all of us at all. You will get to know some of us. It makes the event you are enjoying have MORE meaning and we love to have you.

At the pace alluded to, it's not likely you will get a better placement as a result of this particular 10K.

Yeah, if it was 3:00 there would be hope. I'll be happy to finish Donald, but that leaves plenty of room to dream.

I'll run the event as an opportunity worry about over sleeping and forgetting my water bottle. The course will be hillier than I'm used to, but it's the perfect distance for that week of the plan. Stick with the usual pace, but enjoy the crowd.

I ran this morning 3 miles. I've been trying some intervals to increase my speed. Seems to help.

YAY! A new month to try to be better at posting!!! LOL

6 Miles last night. Planning on the gym with some TM time tonight. :)

Hi all! I told myself that come 1 Sep, I was going to stop lurking on this thread and start posting...so here I am. I am a member of Team Super Goofs and post a bit over there, but to those of you that don't know me I'll tell you a little bit about myself...

I'm a 34 yo wife and mom of two (DS-9 and DD-4). I was born and raised in Miami, FL (hence the name "Florida_girl), but I'm currently living in Oklahoma. My husband and I are both active duty Air Force, so we can't always control where we live...if it were up to us, we'd be back in FL, but OK is not bad at all...just way too far from Disney and family. I'm currently deployed to South America and looking forward to returning home very soon...less than two weeks now! Living in OK, we can really only afford to visit WDW once a year...and that usually coincides with our Christmas trip back to Miami in Dec. I had so much fun running the Donald in 2008, that I really wanted to run the Mickey this year, so I recently joined up with a local TnT chapter and will be making the trip solo in Jan. My dad and his wife are going to drive up from Miami to cheer me on, so I won't be completely alone, but it will be my first trip to WDW (at least in the recent past) without the DH and kids.

Sorry for the book...looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Hello Wishers. I justed wanted to let everyone know that my grandma passed away on Sunday night. She seemed to be doing much better but suddenly took a turn for the worse. My Mom and Uncle were there with her. I am very thankful that I was able to get home a few times in the past month to spend time with her. I am heading home in the morning and her services will be held on Thursday.

I'm glad I got my long run in on Sunday morning because I probably wouldn't have gotten it in otherwise. I ran today too and thankfully felt like it really cleared my head. I may get a run in on Thursday morning before everything start just so I can start the day off feeling refreshed, but we'll see how I feel in the morning.

Thank you to everyone who kept my familly in their prayers. I'm sure it helped her in her final days.

Megan- I am so sorry for your loss.

Shannon - Yay! Glad you are here! First of all, thanks to you and DH for servign our country. I had a very good firend who was in teh AF and stationed in OK. Very fond memories of a visit there. So, at least I can puicture wher eyour home is, sort of. Looking forward to hearing more about your trianing. BTW, a WISHer is NEVER alone at a Disney race! While you'll be harder fro us to spot wearing pruple, we''ll be easy to find and if you tell us who you are, you'll have firends. :goodvibes

Megan - I am oh so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Shannon - Welcome and thank you to you and your husband for protecting our freedoms!!! Good luck with your training.

Had a great run last night. This weather up here in NY has been great the past two days. No humidity and high 60's in the evening. Almost three weeks to EEC. Getting so excited now. :woohoo:

Megan, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how close you were with your GM, and am glad you were able to spend some time with her before she passed, and that your mom and uncle were with her. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Shannon: Welcome to the monthly thread. I, too, have been promising to make myself more visible. Thanks so much for sharing your story with us--I learned a lot that I didn't know, and thanks to you and DH!:thumbsup2

Carrie: I haven't been doing a great job with the :worship: and  for all the race reports, but I just have to say your recent tri (Scott's, too) rocked! You two are doing so great, both separately and as a team! So :worship:  :woohoo: to you!

Diane: You and me both. On the posting that is. My 6 miles are tomorrow. It was a precious, much-beloved rest day for me today. :rolleyes1

hi i am 33 and doing =my first race in March...princess half. I took the training schedule from mfm and am doing each week twice. I started 3 weeks ago and so far so good HOWEVER....I leave for Disney on the 5th of September and return on the 14th so that will through a wrench in my training.

Hello and nice to meet you all.

Megan I am sorry about your loss.

Hello Wishers!!!!

Megan - I'm sorry for your loss. My DW lost her Grandpa today so I can sort of relate. I've been upset the last couple weeks about skipping the Disneyland 1/2 this year, but I'm so Thankful right now I didn't sign up to do the race.

Debra and Diane - Uh Yeah get to posting....Where is Pat by the way????

Shanon - Welcome to the group and Thank you and your husband for your service!!! There is nothing better than having a run or a bike ride and because of people like you I get to do so safely and freely!

AFM - Got 3 Miles in today walking at lunch and then a couple on a bike ride with my daughter although that just more fun. Feeling a little tired, but I know it's par for the Goofy course.

Chris

Megan - So sorry for your loss!

Shannon - Welcome to WISH! I'll echo the thanks to you and DH. I have a cousin who's a Lt. Colonel in the AF.

AFM - I hope to be posting more, especially as I try to get Goofy ready. Still trying to figure out how to not let LTO or WTO :confused3. Does that EVER not happen? Should know for sure next week whether I still have a job. Although it sounds like we'll now be ok (Whew!)

Go luck to all those doing the DL 1/2 this weekend. I'll be there with you in spirit!

Terri

Megan - as everyone else said, I am sorry for the loss of your GM. I'm happy for you however, that you got to see her a few times before her passing. My thoughts go out to you and your family.

Florida_Girl (Shannon?) - welcome to the board, or at least posting to it! Thanks to you and your DH for all that you do in the USAF!

I am running a 5K in two weeks back in my hometown and I am so excited. I'll be home that weekend to celebrate my birthday (this Sunday!!) with my family, and that Saturday is our town's family fun day with a race in the am. I am not going to aim for a time in this race, but rather go, try my best, and maybe surprise myself. I'm planning for another 5K later in the fall and I may aim for under 30:00 in that one.

Keep up the training, all! :)

OK Sept.....memo to self.....post regularly.....:thumbsup2

Megan, so sorry for your loss.

Shannon welcome!!!!!!

How is the first few weeks of "official" training going for everyone?????

Kim - lol. This week's going great for me. It's a post-tri rest week. Starting Saturday, though, will be back on marathon schedule.

Kim - send me a copy of that memo, will ya? ;)

Megan -

Shannon -:welcome:

Shannon- Welcome

Megan- Sorry to hear about your grandma

Treehugnmama- Welcome and good luck on the race. There are a lot of really cool runs around Disney if you want to keep the training up...just sayin':rolleyes1 Check out this site for some maps. I don't know where you are staying but an early morning run around the boardwalk and down the canal to DHS and back is a very nice, peaceful run.

I did 6 miles on Monday and nothing yesterday. I am going to go out on something short and fast today and tomorrow and then I am off the VA Beach early on Friday for the RnR half. I don't intend on going for a PR but if I am feeling good half way through I may speed it up. I am shooting for the Phily run being my first sub 90 in a couple of weeks.

Hello all!

Meghan - So very sorry for your loss. As you said, it's great you were able to spend time with her recently. Hope the rest of your week is as positive as it can be...

Welcome Shannon and treehugnmama!

Terri - thanks for the support to us DL 1/2 marathoners...only 4 days to race day.

Today is my last "loosen up" 2 miler before the race. I'm really feeling good about it, and DH had a great run yesterday, so he's feeling ready too. Here's to having fun on race day!

Megan Adding my condolences to everyone else's.

Frank Good luck on the race!

Debra I saw the Big Lebowski for the first time last night and thought of you. (Am I mistaken, or is there a connection?) What a hoot!

Hi to all others on this wonderfully-weathered Wednesday. I am going to go out for a walk and maybe, just maybe treat myself to some thing cold (probably iced coffee, since I am at work)
