Monte Cristo

They have changed the way they make the monte cristo, I don't know if it has been discussed or when it happened, but it was definately no were near as good as it used to be. Before it was a sandwich diped in batter and fried, now it is like the cheese and meat was stuffed in the batter with no bread and then fried, it was heavy, greasy and really not good.

I was disappointed as that was always one of my favorites.

We have just come back from Disneyland & my Son was "hanging out" for a Monte Cristo.
As he had never had one before we had nothing to compare it too, but I totally agree with the OP-it was heavy, greasy & not nice at all.
He only ate half & his Sister & I had a little bit each, and it was terrible.
We couldnt understand why so many people raved about them here, but now we know!

I hope that this is some sort of an anomaly and not a permanent change to the way it's made.

Did you eat it at Cafe Orleans or BB? I wonder if the "cheapened" up the CO version and left the BB version the same.

I was at the cafe orleans. But it would suprise me completely if they had two different versions. As both restuants are served by the same kitchen.

I had one at Cafe Orleans in April and was disappointed in it. Very heavy and greasy.
It had been years since I had one at BB, so wasn't sure if the sandwich had changed or me
I won't be ordering it again, but bet DH tries it when we go in Oct (he was sick on the April trip)

We had it at Cafe Orleans at the beginning of August & it was hot, crisp & very good. It's such a rich sandwich that we always share one & still don't get thru it all.....but no complaints!!

This describes my montecristo sandwich from last week. Had it on tuesday @ Cafe Orleans, it was grose . I explained it to the waitress, she was really nice and offer to exchange it for something else.

I was dissapointed, it's one of those meals I look forward to eating while at DL.

I have PS at both BB and CO on the 16th. I am ordering the Monte Cristo at BB. If it's good and like what I've always experienced in the past I will order it at CO too just to do a comparison, but like PP said they come from the same kitchen so there shouldn't be a difference. I'm planning on taking pictures too. I hope this isn't a permanent change.

My wife had the 3 cheese MC two weeks ago and thought it was very good. Normally she does not like that type of a sandwich.

This is awful! I'm hoping it's just a rare kitchen mistake. I had one from CO in June and it was awesome. Planning on having another one in October
