Monte Cristo

How do you get reservations for this rstaurant, Café Orleans? DO they book up real fast too? What phone number do I call?

You call the Disney Dine number which is on the Disney website and probably on here somewhere and I think you can only make dinning 60 days in advance but not sure. I would do it cuz we thought it was a walk up and couldn't get in.

I was however able to make reservations on a Friday for lunch on Sunday and had no problems but I wouldn't risk it. It doesn't cost anything to make the ressie and then you KNOW you have it.

Good luck and this place is the BOMB!! I posted some pics of the kids monte cristo, the seafood crepes and the chocolate crepe in the dinning section and there is a pic of the regular monte cristo in there as well that is why I didn't post mine but I can re-post if you like.

My boyfriend is a monte cristo lover. We tried the Monte Cristo at Cafe New Orleans and didn't really like it. Before Blue Bayou did their refurb we always ate there and he loved their Monte Cristo. Now that their menu has changed we haven't been back (too expensive for lunch), so I'm not sure if it tastes any different. :confused3

Ask Lynn when she comes back... she called me last night talking to me about it and all the tragedies she gone through... it really stinks!

Really?? What happend? PM me

We ate there last week. We just walked up and they seated us right away w/o reservations. But, it was very soon after the park opened.

I got the cheese monte cristo sandwich. I didn't get the meat that came with it. Basically, it's 2 slices of sandwich bread with some cheese inside, grilled and covered with powdered sugar. Not a whole lot to it.

I thought it was supposed to be fried, but it sure didn't seem like it - no crusty bits. I wasn't real thrilled with it and won't ever order it again. I had a taste of DHs scramble and wasn't thrilled with that, either. Guess I like my scrambled eggs to be the whole egg, not just the whites.

my family and I visited Cafe Orleans during the 50th last june, the monte crisco was addicting, I tried to get a take out, but they wouldn't accept!!!!!!!! Oh darn!!!!!! :rotfl:

By the way, even during the busiest time in the summer, we were able to walk-in with no problem!!!! Couldn't get in BB!!!! Another darn!!! :rotfl:

That's the MC I ordered in August at Café Orleans. It was delicious! But, I didn't think it was that big. I ate half of the MC and half of the Crab Sandwich (my mom ate the other halves) and didn't feel that stuffed at all. I did feel a little stuffed after the Mickey beignets though :rotfl:
No, serious. We had breakfast and then these sandwiches around 5 pm, and it was just right! I can only recommend them.

Wow, Sandra! YOURS looks delicious! you can tell it's got a batter on it and is fried. And it came with fruit!

Mine just looks like a grilled cheese sandwich with powdered sugar on it. :sad2:

We called and got reservations and lots of openings still right now for Christmas eve. Thanks for the help.

Looking at the pictures it appears as if one is DEEP fried, while the other is pan fried. Any cooks out there to confirm?

well we ate there just over a week ago and they were packed. If you didn't have a reservation you weren't getting in and fortunately we had one. I got the ham and cheese and DH got the all cheese, both were deep fried and both came with fruit. He had the gumbo with his and he liked the gumbo there better than BB and I had the salad but I don't remember the salad. I love my sandwhich but DH hated his. He didn't realize there was no meat and he was really grossed out by eating battered deep fried cheese so we shared my sandwhich. Personally I would say this place is a no biggie I wouldn't stress about trying to get reservations.

I'm thinking that maybe they make them different, one way for breakfast and the good way for lunch.
