Has anyone ever had the Monte Cristo at Café Orleans? I know that Cristo at the BB has an amazing Cristo that is too big that you need to share it. But what about the Cristo at Cafe Orleans? Is it any good, and can you share it? I hear so much about this sandwich that I am curious. But before I go and fork out the money at the BB I want to know how good the cristo is elsewhere.

Is it necessary to make reservations at the Cafe Orleans?

I'm kinda curious about this myself. Also is it any cheaper to buy it at Cafe Orleans or do they charge the same price as BB

I read on another board that you don't get the salad and 2 sides at Cafe Orleans that you get at BB. Also, the C.O. is at $14.99 vs. $18.99 at BB. Personally, I am willing to pay the extra $4 to go to BB.

This one I can answer! :cool1:

I was at Cafe' Orleans a couple weeks ago with friends. There were 4 of us and we ordered 2 Monte Cristo's (one turkey & ham - one 3 cheese) and split them between us. Half an order was PLENTY to fill me up! I had the 3 cheese. . .it was very good. Price was $14.99 for each order.

I saw a picture on another thread about the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans. It looked like it came with grapes or something like that. I'm going to be trying it on Monday, so when I get back I'll let you know for sure as I just had one at the Blue Bayou in August.

That would be fantastic if you could let me know. I want to make reservations for BB by mid next week for my trip if it is worth it. I hope its not too late for making reservs for the first week of october .

I had it along with a side salad (their house salad) and it was wonderful!!!!! It comes with fruit and is plenty for a meal. I had it with the salad as I only wanted 1/2 (counting calories) and I was very satisfied. It is a very good sandwhich and the salad was also very good. And the service was great!

I recommend the MC sand at Cafe New Orleans! :cheer2:

Mystic, according the to DL website Cafe Orleans takes ressies too.

I posted a recent Trip Report for 9/17. Mom and I went to Café Orleans for lunch and split the Monte Cristo. We got the Ham and Cheese one and it comes with some grapes and strawberries. The sandwich is OHSO delicious. It also comes with a small cup of a berry dip. Don't avoid that, dip pieces of your sandwich into it! It's gooooooood!

:) Mmmmm that berry dip might be pretty good. I decided since im going to be in the park for a week that I am going to try the Cristo at both the Cafe Orleans, and the Blue Bayou. Im gonna be a little piggy yes, but at least it will be a good thing to report back to everyone, as this seems to be such a popular plate.

I have had both and they taste the same to me, though the one at Cafe Orleans is a little smaller. You get a lot more food at Blue Bayou but with the Monte Cristo that isn't strictly a good thing since I could never finish a whole sandwhich myself. If you can try both then go for it but if you are just going fir the food Cafe Orleans would be better but if you want ambiance then go to Blue Bayou.

:santa: :santa: :santa: I hope they still make it by the time I get there, I might have to try both places.

I dont see why they wouldnt make it when you are there. It seems to be a very popular item. Keep in mind though that at the BB they only serve the MC at Lunchtime. The portions will be large so make sure you have someone to share it with. Thats what I have been told and what I plan to do.

What exactly is the Monte Cristo? I know it's a sandwich, but what is in it? I've read in th OG that it is very popular.

In exact words on the disneyland site it says the Monte Cristo is a sandwich:

Turkey, ham and Swiss cheese in a battered egg bread, lightly fried to a golden brown
