Monsters University Smile Squad MNSSHP

I have got a costume question for you guys:

We are going to MNSSHP this month, and it's so freakin' hot right now that my family wants to do something that is weather-wise cool. I want to do something clever, but cool as well. So we decided to do monsters University yet again. Now, we did MU last year, but my husband and I did a stupid thing in that he wore a letterman jacket, and I wore a skirt, boots, purple tights and a wig. SO HOT!

Instead of just getting various sorority and frat t-shirts (which we can do), I though it might be cute to do the Smile Squad (the monster registration guys that Mike meets at MU orientation). I found the shirts (yellow with the pink monster head smilie faces), but would people "get it"? I have a stick that I can make a MU flag for (think Brazil flags). Do you think that would be "get able"? Does it matter? Should I go for the PNK/ROR shirts instead?

My 3yr old just wants to be Batman. Or Jose from the Tiki room. We could all be Tikis then, but that's another question for another post. Of course, my mom did come back from Hawaii with a bunch of Tiki stuff......and they do sell parrot hats at Target....(I might look like a Jimmy Buffet parrot head though!)

When I started reading this I remembered them wearing green shirts, but you say they're yellow. That just shows how memorable their scenes were for me (i.e., not very). Some slice of people in WDW will "get" it, but I would suggest it wouldn't be a big slice. On the other hand, I don't think it matters much and if it makes you and your family happy I say go for it.
