Monsters Inc. Rollercoaster Green Lit

So you really haven't put too much thought into it;)

Seriously, DH and I would love another coaster if it is to really happen. I have a love for both thrill rides and everything Disney.

Ever heard of Roller Coaster Tycoon? I have played the 3rd version to death so I have had some time to work with these kind of ideas. My mind loves to visualize ideas.

Boy, I hope this is true! MGM may actually become a place we would have to spend some time instead of just running in for a few attractions, seeing Fantasmic, Osborne (in the right season), and leaving. Wow...then I'd have to completely rethink my park days! What a great challenge. :lmao:

The Monsters Inc. Coaster is a long ways off, but will be next to Toy Story and will also probably be a kiddie coaster because Studios already has two thrill rides. The Monsters Inc. meet & greet will be moved to Pixar Place when this happens in the same style as the Toy Story meet & greet because this is working really well. Part of why Fant. is going down to twice a week is because of these new attractions, so get excited for Monsters Inc but it's still a few years away!

I would LOVE to see Sci-Fi converted to a Radiator Springs themed restaurant...

Hey! Why can't we have both? I love the idea of a Cars-themed restaurant, but don't take away the SciFi. It's one of our favorite places to eat!

I've heard of it, but never played it. But, based on you're idea I think Disney might want to consider giving you a job to design coasters.

I could be totally missing something but I don't see this anywhere on the hub... I'll keep looking though:confused3

It was removed after only hours of being put up. Disney wants it a secret as usual. The only bad thing about this is that it most likely will be an extremely family oriented ride, although the park deserves a new thrill in my opinion. Rather than housing a suspended coaster with your feet dangling and a few inversions it will probably be a suspended coaster like iron dragon and big bad wolf at cedar point and busch gardens. Personally if it is like those, it wont be too thrilling...

Since the attraction hasn't been officially announced by Disney, I've moved this thread to the Rumors and News board. :)

While a new thrill would be great - I think there's a serious lack of 'whole family' rides at DHS. Except for the Great Movie Ride and the not-so-great Backlot Tour, the only whole family experiences are shows. And honestly, my three nieces (all under 5) are only good for 1-2 shows a day. They want to move more than to sit still and be quiet for 30-40 minutes.

Either way - family or thrill ride - bring on Monsters, Inc!

Okay here's my addition - since it's based on Monsters, INC doors - the ride should have more than one version. Maybe you get to make choices, maybe the ride makes choices for you - maybe there's a combo of the two. Maybe there's mutiple tracks or maybe there just different VR rooms....

That would be great! There's got to be a place to find that video. :sulley:

Along with the rest of you, when I saw the movie, I thought what a great ride for the parks.....now if they'd only do my other idea..... From Lilo and Stitch - the Hawaiian RollerCoaster Ride (remember the song?) - a standup coaster and the hills overlaid with the ocean surf.

I imagine it to be like the Iron Dragon at Cedar Point, no loops or super fast speeds, fun for the whole family. .....

I was also thinking no loops or super fast speeds.

I posted this on another thread:

From what I read about it the coaster is going to be a family-friendly attraction & will be housed inside of Soundstage One.

I think a coaster like the one below but in a darkened room with a forced perspective and scenes in blacklight (Think Peter Pan ) might be a trill ride for little ones and a fun adventure for adults alike.

This is a coaster from Carowinds and I think the Monsters Inc, coaster may be a lot like this one (without the water of course!) & about the same size.

Looks like fun!

C'mon, somebody has to have access to that video. Any CMs out there?Register with DIS, post it, and we'll have that sucker mirrored inside of five minutes. Then you can go and hide. We'll cover for you.

The word I am hearing is a Monster Inc. attraction is being built and that
WDI had more meetings with the contracting company last week here in the Detroit, Michigan area.

Just my 2 cents.

Pixar Eyeing ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Sequel, Says Film’s Director
Published by Shawn Adler on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2:16 pm.

'Monsters, Inc.'They did it with “Toy Story” twice. They’re doing it with “Cars” next. They’ve been rumored to want to do it with “The Incredibles” for years. Pixar is officially in the sequel business these days, with further installments of some of their most popular franchises in the works.

So how come we never hear about “Monsters, Inc. 2”?

“We’ve thought about it,” “Monsters, Inc.” director Pete Doctor told MTV News about the possibility for a sequel. “We’ve got a couple ideas.”

In the moment, those ideas are being filtered into a “Monsters, Inc” roller-coaster at the Walt Disney Resorts, which should open in a couple of years.

But a movie? Doctor’s revelation, of course, is a far cry from an actual announcement. Or is it? When I followed up with Doctor about the nature of the ideas all he would say is “I can neither confirm nor deny.” (And he did it in a nervous voice). Is it a denial? A non-denial denial? An admission we’re on to something?
