Can anyone tell me why this ride is listed in the "rides that eat adults" section of the unofficial guide? The description seems mild enough. May I surmise, then, that we won't be able to bring the baby on it? :rolleyes1 Thanks for the info!

I have not use or read the unofficial guide, so I dont know what that rating means. But, yes, you can bring a baby on it. Its a mild, dark ride- much like the rides in Fantasyland in DL. It moves slowly, is all one level- no drops.

Okay, thanks! I was confused as to why it would be scary for adults, but perhaps its just a mistake. Glad to know we can bring our little boy on it!

LOL! Okay, here's my take on it. When the book says "eats people" what it means is that the que is so long that it takes people out of the main areas of the park and into a que, which makes DL and DCA appear less busy.

A lot of rides in DL are people eaters. Indiana Jones is because of its huge que, and PoTC is because it is such a long ride (17 minutes + que time).

Is that perhaps what the book is referring to? What other rides does it call "adult eaters"?

I agree the term "eat' is used out of normal context for the guide!! DangerMouse put it perfectly!!

I would agree with this too. Although it does sound kinda funny when describing the Monsters ride! :rotfl:

I loved this ride! It also seemed "bright" for a dark ride, so not scary for kids at all. It was one of the better attractions at California Adventure, I thought, and since it isn't available in WDW, Monstors Inc was well worth seeing.

ROFLMAO. . .PEOPLE EATERS. . .That's hysterical. That could describe many rides. Toon Town Car Toon Spin (big line outside but when you get to the door you find that you still have LOTS more que time. . .lol), Space Mountain (you never see the line unless you get in it). I have never heard that term before but it perfectly describes the ques. . .lol.

Most E-tickets have always been nicknamed 'People Eaters' by WDI and by many Guests... and DL management old-timers... Splash, Space, People Mover, Matterhorn Bobsleds, DLRR, the Mark Twain, Big Thunder, Pirates, HM, Indy, Adventure Thru Innerspace, Small World, Roger Rabbit...
Fantasmic!

The Rocket Rods also 'ate a lot of people', whether operating or holding 1000s captive in it's queue... but that attraction definitely wasn't an E-Ticket as to capacity, hourly thru-put and 'above and beyond' FX and fun, even if Disney said it was... ;)

Gotta agree with you about Rocket Rods. . .wish they would just put the people mover back. Was just nice to have a place to relax and enjoy the area. . .

I think that he uses the term to describe rides that your kids make you go on that use up much of your time with little excitement for you.

But, I disagree with his assessment for this ride. It didn't take much time at all and it was fun to do once.
